This is recency bias. We have had WAY worse FA periods and some of the pre-FA signings would have been raved about in past years.

This. People have no idea how good we have it. Nobody's immune to criticism, and both Walters and Osh own some... But Jesus, we have been so spoiled.

I'm really curious if there's some totally forgotten about player that we might sign outta nowhere... Like someone forgotten in the NFL who all of a sudden makes a return and everyone goes "wow!" I don't know enough about who all is still out there unsigned north and south ...

Aykroyd said no... Apparently in poor health. Carvey has been on all season so I think he willingly stepped back a bit for this. Absolutely loved Garrett Morris introducing the painfully ironic Belushi video.... For all the old timers out there, they can't say they weren't recognized. Basically every one of Lorne's eras was represented.... And even a bit of the awful Doumanian era. I'm a particularly big fan of the 2010-ish era that had Forte, Sudekis, Hader, Samberg, Armisen, Moinehan, Kenan and Wiig... With Meyers and Mulaney writing...I'll go to bat for that as one of the best ever, if not THE best ever... And was glad to see a lot of them get work in last night.

SNL 50 was sensational. I couldn't possibly have asked for more... Except maybe a Stefon in place of Downer, but Hader declined the invite. Just a tremendous effort all around.

So, I'm still a believer in Zach, but here's where the middle ground is, I think: While Zach is still very capable of being the elite 2022 guy that was putting up gaudy stats, it does seem like those games are becoming less and less frequent. I remain hopeful that the 2024 West Final is something he can do more regularly, but he definitely needs a lot of help to do it (primarily his protection, as it seems like he gets happy feet very easily these days). And where a lot of people are having an issue is that he's being paid for 2022 Zach and being paid like a guy who shouldn't need as much help as he does. Taking the salary out of the conversation, I still believe in a healthy Zach's ability to lead us to a Grey Cup, with the right tools around him.

Can anyone confirm the contract status of Koala? I believe he is FA but wondering if anyone knows for sure. Really praying we have a better option for C this year, even if it's not McEwen.

Depends when he had the surgery. He was playing hurt for a lot of the first half of the season but was it LDC or BB that he got REALLY ****** up and had to have surgery?
