Bombers TC Memories
One of my earliest training camp memories is as a kid watching the team practice at the Velodrome a few times. Not sure if I saw Mark Chipman tryout for the Bombers but one guy I remember was Forrest Kennerd - Trevor's twin brother. I'm surprised the 5 foot 5 QB didn't make the team, they must have been biased against Canadians or something.

Bombers TC Memories
Yeah, I was at Smith's first practice (he was injured and just rode the bike on the sideline). After practice the media wanted to talk to Roberts but he literally ran away from them and hid under the grandstand. Good times.

Around the League - Training Camp Discussion
I've been around for 3 Bomber Grey Cups and 3 Rider Cups. The way Rider fans talk however you'd think they've won 20 in my lifetime.

Who was the Don Unamba fan on here? I see Unamba signed with Montreal.

They are apparently high on Sarao.

So the Riders aren't holding a Rookie camp as it would be to tough on the trainers and equipment staff to quickly transition from Regina to Stoon (where main camp is being held). Lol

Other Sports Forum
How about sticky the more popular sports threads in general discussions. However, if there is no post in a thread for at least a week then the thread gets un-stickied.

The TV Thread
American Greed did an episode on Mayor Ray Nagin. There was lots of fraud, corruption, bribes, money laundering etc. I think Nagin looked at Sam Katz's business dealings and said hold my beer.

Seems like Walters is batting around 500 for signing top picks to 3 years. For example, I haven't seen any info that shows Loffler or Corney signed for 3 years.

Bombers Off-Season Transactions
Reminds of Coach Dave Ritchie. He'd say there were 2 keys to winning a game, then go ahead and list 3 things.

Couture, a 10th pick last year, was signed for $75 000. This'll get interesting as Jones and Murph won't want to pay Bladek that much.

In the meantime, Aards' store sales will be at an all time high.

Rumor is Richie Hall may not be able to coach this year
FWIW, he was walking around at mini-camp with a cane.

CFL Draft
When would it free up a roster spot? There are no ratio concerns or roster limits for pre-season games.

CFL Draft
Jimmy's looking forward to the draft.

The most famous Brock is still Connor. He was the "you want my take or what?" guy on Jim Rome.

Bethel-Thompson is still doing that Spring League thing.

I guess they think Muamba will never get injured. That's bad roster management Imo. The Bombers at least will have an American running back kicking around in case Harris is injured.

Man, I don't know how many times I clicked on that realtor's ad in error. My issue with that site is how many so called insiders they have. It seems everyone knows a guy but they don't post any info as it would disclose their source. They just come out of the woodwork after the fact and say oh I heard about this.

I read on the CFL.ca forum that the server's hard drive failed and they didn't have a back up so they lost everything. They have to build things from scratch, kind of like their team.

Nate replied to Odell that he actually didn't collect a bonus before he retired and that he had one due in May.

Speaking of former Bombers, olineman John Kling has signed with Washington. He was on the Bombers practice roster for a couple weeks last October.

Bombers Off-Season Transactions
McLeod Bethel-Thompson is listed as one of the participants of that spring league that just started up. So he might be busy during Bombers mini-camp. A couple of other long time Bombers on the list are Adrian Hubbard and Justin Green. https://tommysportstalk.wordpress.com/2017/04/08/a-look-at-whos-playing-in-spring-league-football/

CFL Draft
Walters said last night that they won't know who they are going to draft until the day of the draft. They will work their NFL contacts to find out about the guys in the tryout camps up until the last minute. It's also obvious Walters likes Gray but he doesn't put any value on the fact that he's a local kid. If there are two picks that are equal in every way he would pick the local guy but otherwise he'd select the best player for the football club.
