  1. The Bombers have demonstrated that they are better than the bottom half of the league. Those are primarily the opponents they've faced so far. No one expects them to go 15-3 on the year, but they've quite clearly been good enough to win 5 of the 6 games they've played. People like to talk about the Bombers having everything bounce right for them to be 5-1 but that is pretty bullshit to me. They should have won the Als game handily but those turnovers kept it closer than it needed to be, they were controlling the Hamilton game quite well but one big kick return TD and it's closer than it should have been. Against Ottawa they got caught on the first couple series but then absolutely locked it down once they realized what was going on.... There's been a lot of bad luck for the Bombers this year as well, they are just proving to be resilient enough to overcome it. That is actually why I like this team so much, it's not 5-1 that tells me they're legit, it's how they're over coming adversity in all forms. The ability to over come adversity is what sets good teams apart from bad teams.
  2. but if coaching and qbing is good then why get that nonsense about 3-3? That's a stupid comment to make because they got big improvements in the two key areas. Look at BC, they took a hit in qb play and dropped in the standings, same in Hamilton. Edmonton got a boost in the coaching ranks and jumped up the standings too.
  3. and it just so happens that those are really the only two areas of a CFL team that really matter.
  4. I do think that Willy will be just as motivated as Ford, but it's not like the Riders cut Willy. He moved on because he wanted to start.False. Taman is on record as saying that they were moving on from Willy because he didn't fit their plans and they like their current back up better. They were going to let him go to FA but we tossed em a token piece for his neg rights. I don't care how Taman wanted to spin it. Willy was leaving to get a shot at starting. "I don't care what people who know the actual facts say, I'm sticking with my idea!!!"
  5. Honestly, the only thing that worries me about the Riders is whether or not they get the running game going. If they can run the ball they're dangerous, I don't believe that Durant can win with his arm this year, too many missing pieces from the receiving corps. If they get the running game established though Durant is just so much better.
  6. And even though the Riders actually lost to the Lions, they're still clearly the superior team.
  7. That's already a thing, 2nd contracts are only bridge contracts for people who need to prove themselves.
  8. once you start buying up UFA years the dollar value of contracts goes through the roof
  9. That was the most spineless thing I've seen out of a football player since Brock Ralph
  10. Don't think they would take a WR off the field and replace with a RB. If Cotton was in than someone had to come out. The WR/SB differentiation is pretty much meaningless these days, guys line up all over the field.
  11. God willing the Redblacks can pick up a win here. Nothing kicks the anthill in the gap like Burris beating them.
  12. That's the most important part. Bombers take care of their own business don't need to worry about what anyone else is doing, the rest of the games I just want to be entertained.
  13. The most logical explanation is they took an american receiver off since you know, to get another offensive weapon on you need to take one out.
  14. Agreed, hence that other thread going on here showing that people are giving Dinwiddie way too much of a pass for this nonsense. It's been proven by Gary Crowton that If your OC is unprepared, unqualified, or clueless, your whole offense will go down the tube. I think Dinwiddie gets cut some slack because he was never supposed to be the offensive coordinator. He was hired as a qb coach and he's brand spanking new to coaching, no way he should have been thrust into the OC role that quickly.
  15. It'd be more deadly than the Don Cherry piano hands drinking game
  16. How come I only saw this for the first time now??
  17. Man Montreal is such a gong show this year. A lot of the shine really has come off Popp now that he's got no qb eh?
  18. so you're agreeing with me that it wasn't players who were cancers but the coaches were just inept? Coaches aren't cancers on teams they can just be terrible coaches who can't motivate a team, that's the guys we had coaching unfortunately.
  19. Was that a 9 or 8 team league? That would be both.
  20. Same old Brink, send pressure he's toast.
  21. Unlikely, going to take more than 6 wins to stay out of the western basement I expect.
  22. How do you know Grigsby was Willy's first read on the play? When exactly is sending your RB out to the flats a bad call? ...on a D-Lineman... yeah! getting your RB matched up against a DL seems like one giant win for your offensive coordinator.....
  23. He looks like he's trying to decide if he sat in a pie or not
