THIS. I dunno why people are dragging up names from 15+ years ago to try and argue but the CFL is a different game now, avoiding turnovers is arguably the most key thing right now so you can't expect to win when your qbs are tossing higher numbers of ints. Just doesn't happen in the CFL today.

Regarding Nichols I think whether or not he is elite is really irrelevant. We have seen that given the support from the rest of the team that he is capable of winning games for this team so really what more can we ask for? Get the D to a point where they're not giving up free drives and this team can beat anyone.

Yeah that's exactly it, if he's your best player you're not winning a damned thing, but if he's riding shotgun to a real star then maybe you got a chance. It really goes to show how teams with their best player as a winger are lacking where team that have the top centre do much much better.

I disagree with that, I think Gore did a fantastic job. Gotta remember that BC has trotted out some damned good american receivers too and it's not called the Manny show for nothing. It seems to me that Walters MO is to take a "safe" pick first and then dabble with riskier things later. I mean he always seems to prioritize the lines, usually OL and get someone he knows is likely to at least suit up. Maybe I'm crazy but I don't think we'll ever see him deviate from that.

The fact that he didn't come back in the game was all I needed to know. If he didn't come back of course he had a concussion, guy has a soft melon from previous issues. He's a bit of a band aid, but that's the price he pays for playing the game the way he does.

The only stat that matters for qbs are the ones that help you support your pre-existing beliefs.
