Makes total sense considering Paul Lapolice is the OC. Short passes, relies on yards after the catch, prone to conservative play calling ie. lots of 2 and outs, but also capable of scoring when they are behind. I swear if Lapo had any balls at all this team would win a lot more handily than it does.- Wiecek's Article
Not just entertaining but a team that never gives up. I mean god it was hard to watch the Burke led Bombers cause they would just roll over and die, at least this group even if they have a rough patch never stop fighting. That goes a long way in my books.- Bombers @ Redblacks
right? Only one guy making a different pick and that's clearly just playing a hunch... The CFL media really does engage in a hell of a lot of group think.- Wiecek's Article
I don't think you're going to convince anyone that your crazy thoughts are correct when in fact there has been clear improvement over the course of Mike O'Sheas tenure here. yes it started out bad and was still bad a year later, but then last year they got to 11-7 and lost a close one in the playoffs, this year they also started off the season with a winning record yet here you are acting like they're a terrible terrible football team, and why? Because they lost a close game to BC? Because they lost to Calgary? I mean come on, you really need to pull your head out of your ass because it's so far up there you can't even see what's right in front of you.- The Simpson's "Classic Moments"

I think it just goes to show that MOS is doing a pretty good job, I mean if whether he wears pants or shorts is the biggest issue people have...- Commissioner gets it right
yeah Buono is not the type of guy to not take advantage of any edge he can get even if he disagrees with it.- Wiecek's Article
Sounds like you're not much of a football fan, but hey neither is Wiecek so that's probably why you agree with him.- Lock of the Week 7
I will take Jeremiah Johnson- I Hate Prevent Defenses
Well the original point was that 2 preseason games and a few weeks of training camp don't prepare rookies, Loffler had that plus over a month of practise time before he was asked to start, so yeah I am going to say that it does make a difference. As for Fogg I got it from watching with my own eyes. Guy had a rough start to the year, not unlike a lot of rookies playing the halfback position. Just because a rookie like Carmichael is struggling out of the gate, especially when playing beside another rookie, doesn't mean he won't work out. Did the secondary ever really come together last year? They gave up piles of yards all year and will continue to do so because that's the kind of defense this team plays.- Commissioner gets it right
I would agree with you expect that just last week the c'mon centre allowed after review Montreal to get all up in Nichols face. The intention may be for it to be black and white but the c'mon centre cares not for rules.- Upcoming Movies
ugh, the two most annoying words in hollywood right now. "It's gotta be dark and edgy! that'll put asses in the seats!"- I Hate Prevent Defenses
Intertubes say Loffler got into the starting lineup in week 6. As for Dogg, he definitely had struggles early in the year. Even Carmichael is on pace for over 60 tackles this year. So in summary stop trying to misremember things to back up your silly incorrect point.- I Hate Prevent Defenses
Fogg was getting lit up at the start of last year, or had you forgotten that? And Loffler didn't start until later in the season which further backs up the point that it's better to let rookies season for a bit as backups before they get handed the starting role.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
what were there 5 minutes that were good? Not scoring a single point in the 2nd half was it? That's a pretty poor game if you ask me.- Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
but wasn't there a rider fan here earlier in the year explaining that Gaydosh was good NI depth?- Commissioner gets it right
And the entire reason PI was allowed to be challenged was because of a blatant missed call in one playoff game, that's the knee jerk reactions I am talking about. NHL did the same thing with offsides. Over react to one mistake by an official and cause more problems for themselves because of it. Why not just give the ref who made the mistake a slap on the wrist and tell them all to be better next time? Instead we get all these problems as a result of it.- Commissioner gets it right
So then why keep 1 review per team or the automatic reviews on turn overs and scoring plays? If we're going back to the old ways then let's go back and not try this stupid half ass solution they have now. The CFL makes too make knee jerk reactions and it only leads to more problems. If they would take their time and think about things before making changes they wouldn't have to constantly be putting out fires.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
How many Grey Cups have the Stamps won lately though? Same as the REDBLACKS!!!!! since that franchise came back. Being first all the time doesn't mean jack **** about improving your chances to win a Grey Cup. For other great examples look at Montreal, they were first in their division a ton in the 2000s and hardly have any cups to show for it.- Commissioner gets it right
I like that it's a step in trying to correct the stupidity of the situation, but I think it's just another knee jerk reaction from the CFL which is what got us into this mess in the first place. The entire point of video review is to get things right... yet with 1 review a side it still leaves a lot of leeway for the refs to get things wrong. I've said since they implemented it that if video review can not be 100% at getting calls right then it shouldn't be part of the game. I would still advocate for the entire review process to be scrapped and just let the referees do their jobs and we can live with real time on the field mistakes from them rather than having to live with mistakes even after the review. At very least they should do away with the ability to challenge PI. It has always been discretionary so reviewing it is just stupid.- Commissioner gets it right
Unless the refs are that bad at their jobs, which we all know they are. They're going to miss more than 1 call per side per game.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
I have said for years, when the Bombers win the Grey Cup Freisen is going to write an article with the headline "All Downhill From Here" and tons of fans are going to agree completely with it.- Favourite pizza place
