If streveler is the benchmark for a strong qb then there aren't many QBs in this league who aren't weak.

Yeah the usual suspects are predictable, but I'd say most of us on this site are just excited by the guy because of what he's shown us already.

Well I for one won't turn on the guy, but I do believe that he has a pretty high ceiling, just a matter of getting him to reach it.

He is a guy with all kinds of tools and intangibles, and he showed well as a rookie. I think we are allowed to be positive about the guy.

And those guys all have terrible records for the most part, fajardo somehow hasn't fallen on his face yet, but playing the weak teams probably has something to do with that. Succeed against defenses like Calgary or Edmonton or Winnipeg and I might change my mind.

I have said it elsewhere, hut as long as Lapo doesn't coach like he's afraid of streveler throwing he will be fine. Of course with lapo coaching scared is always a real possibility

Lots of teams have kicked the tires on Glenn and he's happy to be retired. Gotta remember the guy is 40, had a long career and maybe he just doesn't have the burning desire to play anymore. Nothing wrong with that, it's his choice.

Even if they signed Glenn tomorrow he wouldn't play for a few weeks cause he wouldn't be in any kind of game shape. You don't air lift in a qb and start them right away. It takes time, a lot of time. This is them getting another body that might eventually be able to step in should the need arise. If they really didn't believe in Streveler why would they have kept him around as the backup and designed packages for him to play regularly anyway?

Holy over reaction batman! It's not about bringing in Glenn to replace Streveler. It's about bringing in a veteran as a backup cause let's be honest the way Streveler runs he could very well get hurt too and then you're left with just a rookie quarterback. There is no way that anyone other than Streveler was going to be the next man up for this team at quarterback.

The idea with reaching out to Glenn would be to have an experienced backup if you need one. Presumably this means Nichols is ****** so right now we're sitting with 2nd year Streveler and 1st year McGuire as qbs. having a vet around ain't a bad thing even if he's just there to hold a clipboard.

Yeah but no qb in that situation can make a proper throw. That's nothing to do with mechanics, just the situation. I agree that he doesn't have the best mechanics and that makes his job harder, but I completely disagree that it prevents him from making the throws. He can arm punt the ball around the field just fine.

Bullshit, he can make every throw he needs to. Yeah his mechanics are wonky but the guy can make the throws. The question about streveler is can he make the right decisions.
