  1. Again Montreal roughs a Ottawa player and Ottawa takes the flag.
  2. Refs sure have a hardon for Ottawa so far in this one. Montreal guy after punt is slamming his way out of Ottawa bench and Ottawa gets a flag.
  3. Ottawa is way closer to being a 3-15 team than a Grey Cup contender. Lucky they started fast.
  4. You can only do that so much until teams do to us what they've (and we've) done to BC, Hamilton. Drop out 8-9 and just blanket the 3 guys we do have in the route. Have to make D's cover the width of the field and keep the vertical threat. So really it's time to play the best OL possible, focus on making better reads on pressure pre-snap and adjusting routes/plays accordingly. Dealing with pressure in general and pressure with zone coverage especially has been a major weakness this year. Collaros is extremely out of sync with receivers in terms of what their reads are vs pressure. I'd like to see a lot more power running, press A gaps, inside trap blocking...and then playaction off that. Use strengths to cover weakness.
  5. We’re running into the same “time to take the horse to the glue factory” issue with Neufeld as we had with banged up Bighill last year. We should be playing the 3 Americans on OL and if we can roster 2 Canadian backups, great. Neufeld’s knee isn’t right, let him sit. Whitehead is clearly banged up, we have two returners and a pile of receivers on PR but we’ll keep running the guy with a groin tear who can’t move out there.
  6. Campbell has no clue what taking a risk means.
  7. You gotta pull Rourke. He's either pressing way too hard or has no awareness out there right now.
  8. It's crazy how Rourke can make so many perfect throws and score so few points.
  9. That line judge both gave Patterson 2 more yards than he actually got and didn't call him being horrifically face masked. League might have to start importing US refs to get some experience.
  10. Where the ball is when he touches out. Opposite of NFL where it's spotted where ball crosses sideline.
  11. Insane that Calgary is wasting these relatively meaningless reps (in terms of standings) on a guy like Shiltz who has no upside. Why not let Tommy Stevens let it rip or pop Bonner in again?
  12. He’s a 78 with speed that some people talk like he’s an 88. That’s all.
  13. Unless Collaros is going to start running showing an empty backfield in almost any situation is just an invitation to pass rushers.
  14. MBT is 100% right on the short weeks. Even with our high school team had a Friday game then a Wednesday game. 4 of the 5 season-ending injuries we’ve had this season happened in the Wednesday game on the short week. Need that recovery time but also the prep time to be prepared to play the most physical sport. Players should be fighting for a minimum of 6 days between games and league needs to figure it out. Season is almost 22 full weeks now so should be able to sort it out to get 18 games in on 6 days rest each minimum.
  15. He’s been on and off active roster since Banjo Bowl 2022 and gets passed by the new crop every training camp as a vet now. My expectations are subterranean for him as a regular contributor on D.
  16. Not in this defense. In one with a traditional read the eyes, read the ball type safety maybe. Even then he's not making any plays downhill from a weakside LB. We've seen Griffin, Jones and Ayers all be pretty solid thumpers from that spot. Wilson and Cole have been awful when in there this season. D turned a corner when Griffin got that role due to injuries both to support better pass coverage and just be disruptive.
  17. Wouldn't be surprised to see Notree playing lots depending on Griffin's ability to play. Cole...we're still waiting. He's lost the job to every other American LB they've brought in and/or kept coming out of camp since he's been here. Couple picks over 3 years, down after down not really making plays.
  18. BC was struggling with Adams too. They were on a 3 game losing streak when Rourke came in. They had games against Edmonton and Calgary where Adams was hit more than a dozen times in each game. His last start was the one against us where they couldn't get a first down.
  19. The only way I could see a DB winning MOP is if the guy returned kicks too and had like 10 TDs overall on kick/INT returns.
  20. There's an award that is only for defensive players. A DB didn't even win that award until 2011. There is not any award that is only for offensive players. MOP is effectively offensive player of the year.
  21. Mace still hasn't figured out how to kneel out a win. 1st and 10 with a minute left and they are running plays.
  22. Everyone is doing same thing to Rourke/BC. Rush 3, 2 out wide to maintain 1 on 1 vs tackles on edge, one guy at nose, drop 9...sometimes sent a hammer or LB. Move Rourke off his first read and watch him die a slow death in the pocket.
  23. Biggest thing is that he's got two major surgeries/rehabs happening. Likely not going to play next year until maybe after Labour Day. So 2/3 of next season likely scrubbed. Will someone sign him? Will he ever have the capability to effectively run RPO stuff coming off injury and not fall apart immediately as he did this season? Will he just transition into coaching? He will be coveted on both sides of the border...obviously big $$$ potential in NCAA/NFL
  24. Nobody cares about pro football aside from the NFL in the entire country....so let's trip over our dicks again to enter the market.
  25. Garbutt is ok but they need someone who can rip under a tackle and disrupt the pocket. We basically play basketball defense with our front, try to disrupt passing lanes but never get after the QB off the snap.
