Yeah and if you're gambling on a few vets I'd rather him than Bighill or Alexander. But there was a strong argument for him being cooked too.

I'm saying Grant in 2023 was injured and didn't have a big play return in the 2nd half when he came back. So yeah, he's had a great year and stayed healthy in 2024. But he wasn't great last year.

We've replaced what he was last year. We didn't have a big play return from July on.

God damn how is Toronto letting Fajardo spin to his left? The league closed that move off in 2019.

Yeah easy to forget the injury issues when he stayed healthy this year. He didn't bust a return for us last year after June. He had 5 returns 30+ and 4 of them were in June. But would have gambled on him over Bighill 11 times out of 10.

Also Alexander busted up, Taylor hasn't dressed in a game in 53 weeks and has 2 weeks of practice in. Kind of a risky lineup on D.

Hubert IMO is as good as Haba. I know he got caught up oddly in a "Canadian" vs "American" position issue when Haba came back. Haba's gotta be the weirdest decision to me. So you could dress him or Cole or Woods or Adams. And some how Haba is the guy you think will make the most impact of the 4 on the roster? Even if you're worried about role or special teams to me he's clearly 4 of 4 there. Have never seen Haba show a single flash of being an impactful or even good CFLer.

There's a lot to be said for being in these games. Can't win Grey Cups if you can't get here. From 94 to 24 we've hosted 7 Division Finals...4 of them in the last 4 years. We gotta have a little perspective here. O'Shea isn't Doug Berry for fucks sake. I think there's some staleness on the personnel side. Watching both preseason games it's not like we had anyone here that was a good rush end. We had a bunch of useless receivers/returners for 2-3 jobs. For all the fretting about the DL there's one game in the past 2 seasons we lost because of them, and we still would have won it without a brutal pick six against....the Ottawa game last year. We are winning and losing based on Collaros and the O. All the money is on the O. Don't personally mind the coaching overall. Losing Schoen knocked our O down a couple pegs. We somehow only lost 1 game without Wolitarsky but I fear we will miss him big time here.

Especially when Tom Higgins still needs a job. Are we stupid?

That's more of a whole of defense problem but if I'm another team I'm running at Jefferson all day and running RPO at him all day. It's a free 8 yards.

Cole is super inconsistent. Grant him that he can make plays with speed that not a ton of guys can make, but as a player in the positions he excels at (which is basically anywhere you're not relying on him for pass coverage which he is brutal at) you need to be flowing to the ball at all times and not just getting washed or quitting when you blow your initial read. I think he's a cool piece to have on as a DI to chase kicks and fit in sometimes if you have a solid group of starters at linebacker but I'm not going to pay him a veterans salary.
