Calgary's DB's quite handsy tonight and getting away with it.

I'm not convinced that Cole or another DB shouldn't be on instead of Jackson. To my eye we are really short on that body type. We've got 4 interior DL who aren't going to do much special teams, 7 OL plus Jackson who is basically a DL. We've got 3 less special teams types than usual dressed. Lots of extra work for guys that also have important roles on O and D is what that means. We can survive without a fullback, I mean **** play with 6/7 OL out there double tights. Use Augustine if you really want a second back to block. I'm really surprised they didn't bring anyone in this week to take Szott's roster spot and just chase kicks. Some Canadian DB/LB/RB kicking around looking for work.

Maier looks more like a backup catcher than a pro QB. Biggest play of the year for Calgary so far, fumbled punt.

Calgary trying to make the Tommy Stevens sweep a great play. We should steal that play for Pigrome and they can have the QB sneak for Tommy.

And the bigger problem is the "no stadium" piece is the same in many markets and the "no ownership piece" tends to be cyclical as well. The league needs to start worrying about Calgary. Montreal is a mess and likely unsustainable without some kind of long-term stadium solution. 10 teams is a pipe dream IMO.

They have no live stats during games though. Pretty unbelievable in 2023, on both TSN and CFL.

The stats thing is egregious especially if the league is looking at gambling as a significant source of revenue.

That's where we are stupid thin in my opinion. There are a bunch of American cuts floating around to the point where if we need a body we can slam one in to be adequate, but on the Canadian side we've become very very thin. And not for starters, for the last third of the roster guys.

Fine is a little scary because he's the type that could go off. Good deep ball and can run around a bit. If you score 25 vs Harris' team you'll win 90% of the time. Dickenson must have made the call to not kick the FG though. That was completely ignorant. Hand Edmonton the ball down 4 when you could kick to be up 7. No trust in Lauther I guess.

I'd dress Boateng over Szott. Even if he could cover kicks and play 20 snaps on D that would be big value.

Sounds like a coddled punter from University of Texas confronting the reality of being a fringe pro football player.

I'm not even really sure why we've kept Machino with Karamoko plus that we now have one spot used on a punter. Karamoko and Schmitz on the PR more than covers us for Globals. I'm sure Machino is the 11th or 12th OL on our depth chart. Crazy to be so thin at DL, LB, general special teamers and have at least 3 more OL than we could possibly need around.

Kind of disappointing that Thomas is the release when we have essentially 5 OL on the practice roster including Szott, plus Eli on the 1 game. We have more than two full O-lines at practice right now. I mean I kind of see the succession issue with Bryant and Hardrick close to the end. But you also need to get through this season and have guys ready to go when needed this season. Import DL is a spot we could use bodies along with non-import everywhere but OL.

Of course Cornelius steps up into a sack to end the game.
