52 yard FG attempt over 3rd and less than 2 when you have Crum/Pigrome is coaching to lose. Sorry Bobby.

Proposed Annual CFL Schedule
It won't increase TV revenue because it decreases inventory significantly. That's one of the main things the CFL is selling and what they are getting paid for by TSN. Unless all of the production teams and football players are willing to get paid less there's no way this could work.

Als versus the Ti Cats
I wouldn't expect Ottawa to win half their games against that group. They are currently 1-3 in that group, 0-3 vs Montreal and Hamilton. They won't finish higher than 3rd in the East.

Could be. Wolitarsky was a yard back as well covering the tackle. Either way bullshit call if the line judge can't make it on the field or it's not challenged by the coach. If they are going to do that they need to review every play immediately. Standard is usually front toe for a tackle at the back of the football. They are never on the LOS.

It's the same refs. That's where the CFL refs come from. In the past two seasons they've fast tracked a bunch of refs. I see guys/women who were working WHSFL games I was coaching last year working the lines in the CFL. Many of these people haven't even officiated football for 5 years at any level. They weren't good amateur refs. One particular rookie official I see in the CFL this year could never understand that we had 7 guys on the line if the guy covering the tackle on his side of the field wasn't a wideout, if we used a tight end or had a bunch formation he'd constantly **** it up and call us for No End....even when the guy on the line CHECKED IN WITH HIM! I see a lot of missed offsides, early movement in the CFL this year. That's where they have stationed the rookie refs, side judge, line judge. They've kept the vet officials at back judge, head linesman, umpire. There's a massive shortage of officials. One thing they really need to do is clarify the role of the replay official. If they want to review every play and buzz down if necessary, do that. But why are there some plays where they are buzzing down with a flag to throw and then nothing on other plays with obvious offsides for example?

Collaros being the only MOP candidate through the first half of the season. I can't even imagine casting a vote for someone else. There's no QB's close to him. There's no RB's or receivers having exceptional seasons, I guess pending what Lawler can put up with Collaros and Schoen in a little more than half a season. Betts and Jefferson on D are having great seasons but don't think they'll be in the MOP discussion.

Week 9 Cowtown battles The Big Smoke
Yep Collaros personally is having a career season. Opportunity to put up bigger numbers with fewer short fields from D and returns.

Yeah there's about 10 plays a game that determine the outcome usually. If you can have fresh guys pursuing a running QB on two of them, probably win that one. If Schoen catches the ball, if Oliviera doesn't fumble, if no pick six. Each and every one increases your chance of winning, right? The point is when you have McCrae mostly standing on the sidelines (or bobbling punts), Jackson mostly standing on the sidelines and you could potentially actually have an impactful player out on the field for those big plays, or have your Jefferson/Jeffcoats out there at 80% energy instead of 40%, you've increased your chances of making one of the plays to win the game. The chances of the guys doing their job and executing increases when you have better players on the field as close to full capability as possible in a football game. If you make the choice to have more or less dead spots on your roster with a shallow DL but the luxury of having a couple Americans with very little role on O on top of an American kicker (obviously needed but has consequences through the roster), you've handicapped yourself and made the margin to victory thinner.

Castillo needs to get some hang time on his kickoffs.

Week 9 Cowtown battles The Big Smoke
If all healthy BC and Toronto are relying on their D a lot to score. The Bombers aren’t. It’s funny hearing people even on TV talk about Chad Kelly as a MOP candidate when Collaros basically has 2x his stats with much more efficiency.

I think he has a role but can't pass for ****. Even in U Sports. Doege looks decent, as much as almost anyone does as a raw first year pro They need to commit to run though to help any of these guys out.

Ford named Edmonton starter for next week. Force him to do anything with his arm and he's screwed. Can't let him run around.

Yeah if they can't handle the travel they better move the team I guess.

Week 9 - Lions @ Blue Bombers - GDT
Yeah he was **** talking the bench and defensive front all night.

I watched Boudreau run angrily down the sidelines and give him **** after that. Then O'Shea pulled him aside too.

With McCrae he's kind of a jack of all trades, master of none. I'd like to see him used more as a tailback, he's a good compliment to Oliviera. A couple of the runs he had last night there was a lot of space up the middle if he hit vertical behind the trap block of Hardrick but he kind of followed Hardrick wide instead right into the defenders. I think he'll be a better player for us as a tailback especially if he gets to focus on it.

He tracked it like he was trying to recover it as an onside guy. Probably saw the Hamilton game a couple weeks back but didn't quite get it.

Week 9 - Lions @ Blue Bombers - GDT
I have seen it. But that particular situation was a total CYA scenario when they didn’t blow it dead and should have. My main roster issue is Jeffcoat. The guy is clearly labouring and it’s August. We need him in November. We need the guys on the roster so he’s only playing half or 2/3 of the series. Lucky this one was a blowout so he could mostly sit out the second half. There’s the “go 1-0 this week” approach but situations like this are the limit of it. There are 3 teams in this league that are Grey Cup contenders and you need to have a team that can go 1-0 each week in November.

Week 9 - Lions @ Blue Bombers - GDT
The officiating is nuts. The replay official buzzes down to make sure they call a no end penalty on us first drive of the game. Where was he on Betts uncalled offside? Where was he on the Bighill play that was blatantly not a penalty? Where was he on the next play when BC receiver was clearly down at 40 with contact gets up and runs across 30? If they are going to auto review some plays (aside from scoring ones) they need to review all of them. Also O’Shea needs work on when to use the flag. On a 60 yard play to Lawler…use it. On a blatant illegal tackle by us…don’t use it.

Week 9 - Lions @ Blue Bombers - GDT
Kramdi was great last night. First game I’ve seen live where he seemed like he had two working legs, one of those guys you’re always waiting on the other shoe to drop injury-wise. They tried to isolate him in coverage early but he was like a wet blanket. Then when they got ahead they rolled a lot of two high safeties with him and Alexander for the most part. He also saved Jeffcoat’s bacon a bunch vs the run when Jeffcoat took aggressive angles and got out run. Darby is another American we could replace pretty easily. Didn’t see him out much on D and boneheaded play on teams where he acted like he was onside smacking ball out of bounds for a 15 yard penalty.

Also…Dom Davis…why? You get a half of garbage time reps and they go to a 34 year old guy who can hardly even run a short yardage package. League needs to force teams to carry developmental QBs.

Streveler posted a 0.0 QBR on 7 passes in preseason debut…not going to be the preseason MVP this season.

Week 9 - Lions @ Blue Bombers - GDT
Parker is minor. Having a guy like Jeffcoat out there with no real backup or opportunity to spell him is a problem over a 18 game season and potentially in a close game. I mean we already lived that in the Ottawa loss when our D was dead tired. McCrae and Jackson don’t bring much. I respect O’Shea’s approach in building a team and not a roster with someone like Jackson and what he brings, but I don’t think you can do that when you’re running a DL that is missing parts. 7 DL is standard in this era. Can argue Maruo and Cole do some rushing in different sets but there’s no way we shouldn’t have another end on the roster at the very least both for the current game and getting our best players Jeffcoat and Jefferson to the games when we really need to win. I’d like to see what Houston looks like returning punts.
