One Last Tune-Up Before Playoffs - West Division Champs @ Donkeys: The Week Of Thread
I think you are being very hopeful. I'm not really sure who a "proven veteran" is around right now. They've had Arbuckle. Brown is a veteran in this league right now. Yeah you could frame it as being a part of the best offense. But we've seen a lot of different guys run this offense even back to Nichols. McGuire gets in after two years and can't get more than a couple first downs in more than a half. To me Brown is in the top 2 QB's we've had since Lapo came back...and yeah I'm including Nichols. Streveler is kind of a different conversation because he can run a lot of gadget stuff as a role player, probably isn't a guy who will throw 450 passes in a good offense. Brown will be in the top half of starting QB's in this league next season. 54-76 696 yards 4 TD 2 INT 89-136 1206 yards 12 TD 2 INT Guess which one is Dru Brown and which one is Mike Reilly coming into their free agency off rookie deal... Great analysis. I'm sure if the Bombers cut Collaros there'd be a lot of hesitation around him too since the other players here have been so great.

Crum is somewhat inconsequential to the decision for Ottawa because he’s on a rookie deal still next year. They can have both.

The only other team he’d work for other than Winnipeg is Hamilton. Quite possible that Steinauer pulls the plug again.

They'll have the bye week to make some decisions. 🤣

Elks @ West Division Champs: The Game (that no longer matters) Day Thread
Those two halfbacks and pass rush are getting the D off the field. The corners have been exceptionally bad this season. There's a complete lack of aggression there. I can't blame the scheme because I see the halfbacks defending passes in match coverage with no deep support and the corners starting 12 yards off on outside leverage in all our cover 0/1 looks, except for Parker who is more likely to be at 8. Watched this overall scheme for 8 seasons of football now, I know Hall encourages matching routes and making plays on the ball. This group of corners mostly playing scared. Parker the only guy reacting to the ball of the 5 who we've had out there at corner (4 still here).

Think he's right where he belongs. Teams are getting almost nothing on our half backs. Corners continue to get torched, Parker the least of the 5 we've dressed but still way too much per game. Alexander invisible when he's out there now too, always trailing play, not really making any.

Dobson has been in at LG for a couple series.

We have 8 guys to the right of the kicker with kicker going off left hash...returner takes one cut to the other side of the field and there is nobody there.

How the **** does Jackson end up being the wide guy to the field on a punt cover?

Watching that play it looks like Mitchell is bending back out to the field when Ford throws him to the post. The only guy downfield tracking that ball is Holm. Ridiculous that's called PI.

Elks @ West Division Champs: The Game (that no longer matters) Day Thread
Mitchell completely stops as Holm is coming downhill at the ball. That's not PI at all. Mitchell keeps going at the ball it's a walk in TD.

Make him stay in pocket...and...nothing,.

Think you go Dru Brown, Augustine, BOLO, lots of heavy sets with Jackson...in second half. Maybe try to get Demski a few reps to get 1000 and sit him the rest and next week too.

That was nothing. Guy is lying on Lawler, just moved him off pile.

Demski headed to locker room.

Dickenson only really got hired because Jones left late when the hiring cycle was done. Maybe O'Day should get to hire a coach, but his work on that team has been awful on the personnel side. Also worth noting they've had a lot of trouble generating interest in coordinator jobs there the past two cycles.

He has an angle but not the right one for a guy as fast as Ford. Just need to make the right play in the situations, like there 2nd and 17, just need to bottle him up not give him any chance to make the play.

Elks @ West Division Champs: The Game (that no longer matters) Day Thread
Man, need better discipline and angles in contain...trust your teammates. Wilson just needs to keep to the sideline there.
-
Elks @ West Division Champs: The Game (that no longer matters) Day Thread
Flush Ford out but no contain.

Burned by RPO there. No safety.

Back and receiver. Edmonton needs to come up with an actual RPO scheme for this QB.
