Yeah, exactly, I don't think that Neufeld is the greatest OL talent the league has ever seen, but his replacements weren't as good as he was, and losing him forced an extra national onto the D and I think that's really hampered us.

Consider this: according to the Bomber depth charts, this team is 6-2 with Neufeld starting and 0-8 when he doesn't start. I think his was the most critical injury we suffered this year. We've used six different players in Neufeld's RG spot since he got hurt: Goosen, Swiston, Jones, Knapp, Hinse, and Howard. No one has stuck in that position. Neufeld is one of our most important OL and has been impossible to replace. We've gotta be patient with him. We have no alternative.

Josh Portis wears #6 now. I think they first gave it out to Brett Cameron in training camp last year and now it seems it's just another number. I think the only other QB-ish number we have available right now is #10. Strange they didn't give Portis #10 instead of #6.

Trading for Neufeld was a risk worth taking. He didn't cost us an awful lot.

All things being equal, a CFL starter ought to win a Grey Cup every eight or nine years, so Allen won them at a pretty good clip. I'm trying to think of guys who did better in Grey Cups than Allen: Moon, obviously, went 5-0 in Grey Cups over six seasons, though he didn't start in two of those wins. Flutie was 3-1 in eight seasons. Ray has gone 3-0 in twelve seasons, not counting 2014. Calvillo was 3-5 in twenty seasons. McManus was 3-2 in seventeen seasons, but had only garbage time in the 1990 win and came off the bench for the 1994 win. He played a hell of a game in the '96 loss though. I think I agree with the people who are saying that Damon Allen that he was a B+ QB with an A+ career. But if I had to choose a starter for a Grey Cup game, it'd be a tough call between him, Ray, Flutie, or Moon. And Moon and Flutie had stacked teams for their wins. Allen won the Grey Cup with good teams, but never dominating ones.

I wish this would happen.

I tried googling for a worse CFL jersey than these and I failed. These are the worst CFL uniforms I've ever seen. They're even worse than the terrible yellow alternates that Hamilton and Edmonton have worns. They're even worse than the the Riders' melon/wheat uniforms. I'd rather see the Bombers play in Memphis Mad Dogs jerseys than these.

According to linkedin, she joined the club last month. http://www.bluebombers.com/david-siddall lists her boss's responsibilities. He's got a ton of stuff to do, both strategic (training camp, salary cap) and tactical (travel, roster transactions). Sounds like a job that could use an entire office, let alone a single assistant.

For a guy parachuted into the starting role with no training camp, I've been pretty impressed with Crompton.

After watching the first quarter, I'm really not that bummed that Wallace Miles got away in the expansion draft.

Crompton seems to be forcing a lot of balls into tight coverage. Got lucky with the pass to Carter, but either he's making bad choices or he's not getting good options.

Kelly's been great in the short passing game lately. He's averaged 60 yards a game our past four games -- in fact, he's averaging a couple more yards a game than Denmark is. Whatever his shortcomings you can't say he hasn't been productive. I dunno, maybe you want your big import WR to be more than a reliable checkdown. Maybe he's just getting open because of all that space that Romby's opening up for him.

Hell yeah. Glad to see it. All credit to the Argos, but that boneheaded play by Sinkfield looms very large. Huge unforced error that took four points off the board. If he doesn't turn to look at the Argo bench, likely all those Argo heroics would have been futile. Also Ray ran a bunch of QB sneaks. Weird to see a starter doing that in this day and age.
