I didn't say signing Hall was a bad move. I gave reasons that the Bombers would prefer him over Benevides, including the fact that we don't have to compete to get him. Me arrogant? Pot, meet kettle. And yet it still came across as condescending and insulting because Hall wasn't your choice but benevides was. You feel like the bombers made a bad move because this is a cheaper and less risky proposition for O'Shea and you cannot play dumb about it.. If you seriously are so oblivious to how you come across in your posts 95% of the time.... I absolutely think that Benevides is a better choice. I make no bones about it at all. That's not the same thing as saying hiring Hall is a bad move, which I didn't say BTW and that's what you and 17 are whining about.

what a crock of **** post. It's the holiday season, it's a brand new year and you pull the Debbie Downer crap? Come on now. Would it kill you to be positive for once? I started with he's better than Etch. What more do you want?

Hall's a safe choice and better than Etch. We don't have to go into competition (Read 'Overpay') to get him as Sask is the only other team that's looking for a DC right now and they don't want him. We'd have to compete with Regina for Benevides. Hall's a calm, nice guy so he should get along well with the rest of our coaches, the same might not be true of Benevides. Hall's defenses aren't significantly different than Etch's so we won't need to change out as many players as we would if we went with Benevides. Hall's not HC material so he won't be as much a risk to O'Shea as Benevides would be.

I'm happy with Hall, although I'd prefer Washington or Benevides. All are upgrades over Etch.

Gut feeling... No upgrades yet = Same as last year.

Way too early. Ask again after TC when we have a DC, a Draft, have 'Overpaid for FA's' and have brought in scouted players.

Interesting move by Wally. With Cortez (rumor) and Washington (Another rumor) as coordinators, they should have a very good coaching staff.

I don't think the Portis signing means anything other than we wanted him back and I don't care if Brohm is back or not. I'd be happy to see Marve move into the #2 spot.

I voted for Benevides too. Lots of great experience and BC's defenses have been way above average in the last few years.

I think it's a poor decision to keep MB. I expect Willy to take huge punishment this year and to be broken down by mid-season again. I expect we will be having lots of discussions about how poor our O line is again too. Oh well. If we could only fire one coordinator, I'm glad it was Etch.

I can see why, given you are wrong so often. You don't get many chances, so take your cheap shots now.

I can't remember a time I was happier to be wrong. Great move to get rid of Etch. I wish it had come a month ago, but that's just splitting hairs at this point.

Starting NI's are always great signings.

What do I expect them to do? Stand pat and assume that the decisions they made last year are all the right ones. I'll be shocked at this point, and so will Doug Brown, if our OC and DC aren't keeping their jobs. Neither will suddenly 'Get It' and change the way they've always been. Our QB will continue to get killed because MB's offensive leaves much to be desired in the protection schemes. Even Calvillo looked like he was done under a MB offense. Etch's defense will continue to be weak against the run and we will be told that doesn't matter. We need to re-sign guys like Wild and Sears just to maintain the current level of the team and we need some better players. Some will come from the draft, some from the scouting and some from FA. All places that every team picks from. We need to do a better job than 6 other teams to move forward in the standings. I think we are a lot farther away from a good team than most. My worry is that the first half of next years season will look a lot like the second half of this years now that the other teams OC's and DC's know what we do.

I consider Wild to be a must sign if he doesn't make the NFL. Sears, not so much. Hurt too often and takes too many undisciplined penalties for my liking.

Doesn't make any sense to me. Cut a guy and you don't have to pay him for the season, unless it was a guaranteed contract of some sort. If it was, then huge mistake by the Bombers.
