Fire O'Shea
You guys are trying to suggest that we'd have kept Etch if Hall and Benevides hadn't been available? WOW. If that's true then O'Shea needs to be gone RFN. Keeping Etch around after last years performance would be like keeping MB around after last years performance. Hmmm. Insert a Roseanne Roseannadanna-esc Never mind here.

Nice story, but the facts don't support it. Bombers fired Etcheverry Dec 17, 2014. They hired Hall January 20, 2015 after interviewing other candidates like Benevides.

Week 16 CFL - Mon. - Tor.@ Mont. (Sask. 15 - Hamilton 30)
That was a great football game. 7 or was it 8 lead changes. Went down to the wire. On the edge of my seat for most of the game. Some suspect reffing. Some great catches. Even some good defence at times. I wish the CFL could be like that all the time.

Bombers Cut Chevon Walker
Bad GM'ing. Sign Walker late August. Cut him early October. Pay him for the rest of the year because he's a vet. Would have been way better to bring in some rookie as a stop gap instead, especially at RB.

No one's expecting the HC to shazam the squad into a powerhouse team. An average team would make most around here do cartwheels. As it stands, we need to win 3 out of the last 4 games and tie the other one to get to Richie's second season 7-10-1 record which would probably make the playoffs. HC's who are under 70 and have winning records... Benevides and Berry(67) immediately come to mind, there are probably others. The best thing we can say about O'Shea is that he hasn't lost the room? His coordinators are a problem but he's the one who hired them and kept them on. I'm not giving Walters an out, but O'Shea's in charge of which players play and he's often made some suspicious choices IMHO.

Yep some people are ignoring those things...probably because they have absolutely no bearing on this conversation. You can't apply generalities across the board as if they are absolutes. You judge MOS solely on his body of work, and with the facts you have, if you are the Bombers....certainly not on historical data. If we ignore history, we're doomed to repeat it. If you ignore context, you're doomed to sound like an idiot. Yup... let's ignore history because context (excuses) are so much more reliable. #haha

The 'Keep O'Shea' group has Friesen on their side: http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/10/05/not-another-house-cleaning--lame-duck-status-might-put-jolt-into-blue-bombers-coach-mike-oshea

Lirim Hajrullahu
He'd replace a DI, not a starter.

You can't build through the draft in the CFL. You only get the player for their first contract. A couple/few years later they can be gone like Muamba and Labatte before him.

Those who like OShea are grasping for reasons to keep him and now to extend his contract? You have to ignore his record or give him points for 'Moral Victories' to even think of extending his contract. You have to ignore the fact that only 1 HC who didn't make the playoffs in their first 2 years didn't get fired since the turn of the century, probably longer. You have to ignore the fact that only 2 HC's coaches in the CFL have ever missed the playoffs in their first 2 years and went on to be a good HC and one of them waited a decade to get a second chance.

Fire O'Shea
Extend O'Shea so he won't be a 'Lame Duck' HC? That kind of thinking got us an extra half year out of PLAP and we ended up paying him for 2 more years for doing nothing. Not extending O'Shea wouldn't hurt our OC search much if at all. An OC who wants to be a HC might even find it a bonus rather than a detriment.

Lirim Hajrullahu
Lirim missed his last kick against Calgary that could have sent the game to OT. He came back with his worst game ever in Bomber Blue against Edmonton. Will be interesting to see if the Bombers have faith in him against BC this week.
-
Lirim Hajrullahu
I wouldn't cut Lirim. I doubt there's anyone better on the roster. If there is, the special teams coach should be fired for keeping Lirim in. This year is definitely going to hurt Lirim in the pocketbook. No NFL for him. Maybe no CFL either.

Lawless on Matt Nichols
Lawless has been pushing that agenda for weeks if not months already.
-
Lirim Hajrullahu
Other teams punters end up punting up the middle of the field and their special teams can cover it anyway.

Didn't Westwood miss 4 FG's in a playoff game that we lost? I doubt he missed any converts, but then again they were pretty much gimmies back then.

MB called a great 2nd half. Spread the ball around. Got it to the hot receivers. Found holes in the Edmonton defence by keeping them off balance. Everything that he didn't do in the first half.

Edmonton @ Winnipeg - (Depth Chart)
I just hope Nichols doesn't try and do too much to prove to Edmonton that they made a bad decision. If he does, then we'll see more Int's than TD's.

Week 15 - Sask @ BC - (Calgary 23 Hamilton 20)
Hamilton's not as good without Collaros, but they're still a very good team. A lot of folks seemed to think that they'd fold when Collaros went down. The way they played Calgary would suggest otherwise.
-
Week 15 - Sask @ BC - (Calgary 23 Hamilton 20)
The reports of Hamilton's demise when Collaros went down seem to have been premature. They're still a very good team whose special teams and defence can win games for them as long as Mathews doesn't turn the ball over too often.

Montreal Suck, BC Suck, We Suck ...
Montreal's on their 3rd MLB of the year Muamba will be their 4th. They lost both starting corners. They couldn't get any pressure and Burris eviscerated them for more than 500 yards. Yet... they are still good enough to bet us.

And it sad because whether is right or wrong (to cut the coach/es) that's the reason why coach/es doesn't want to come here. Winnipeg is a coach's grave yard. I don't want us to cut coach/es and then we end up with someone worse as a replacements because no one wants to come here. I don't see it getting any worse with a different HC. Regina's the only team behind us in the standings, and they'd be tied with us if Glenn came back a week earlier IMHO.We don't fire coaches as quickly as Montreal does and they can still bring new ones in, so I don't see firing O'Shea costing us chances at bringing in a new coach. The last two times Montreal has hired a head coach they had multiple candidates around the league turn down interviews and ended up hiring Dan Hawkins and Tom Higgins, both unemployed then and since they were fired. Not the best example. Really? Who turned down interviews in Montreal? BTW: O'Shea wouldn't have got a second season in Montreal after going 1-7 in the last half of last season.

Henoc Muamba signs with Als
Interesting that the contract info yesterday said 2 more years after this season, now it's only 1? Does that mean the 1st source was wrong, which means the salary numbers are probably wrong too, or is the second source wrong.
