The GST is a fair tax because it is not applied to basic necessities and many businesses and farms are eligible for rebates. It's a consumption tax; if people don't like it they can choose to spend less.

Lagging behind a neighbouring province by $20 000 is not something that just occurred recently. It would be the cumulative result of consistently lagging behind, through the terms of more than a few governments. That 'back room deal' has now been stripped out of the contract, but the salary that was given up in exchange for it will never be recouped. If you don't think that's relevant, then I'll just agree to disagree and move on.

Dominant comeback win by the Hawks, they can still crank it up when they want to

I just don't quite understand how you arrive at some of your conclusions. BC teachers are the fourth lowest paid teachers in Canada. If you compare the maximum salary for a teacher with 5 year degree, they make $20 000 less than the highest paid teachers (Alberta). Their latest contract (2013 - 2019) includes two years of wage freezes. The total salary increase is 7.25%, which averages out to 1.2% annually. That's a very low rate for a 6 year agreement. I don't see how any of that is unreasonable, nor do I understand why other unions would hate them, given that the teachers are paid significantly less than those in other provinces.

Ummm no. They got those clauses because they took wage freezes. The highest paid teachers in Canada are actually in Alberta. Funny thing, it was all negotiated with a PC government in power

About the ongoing BCTF discussion: the reason the teacher's union got control over class size and composition is because they gave up salary increases to get it. Methinks they'll just take the money going forward.

2016 Playoffs
That isn't great, but goaltending isn't as important as it used to be. Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Detroit all won Stanley Cups with average goaltending. The days where guys like Hasek and Brodeur can carry a trap playing team on their shoulders are long past.

Grey Cup Profit: $7.1M
The evidence is clear. Just give this city something to cheer for. Give people a team that's even decent - they'll be there

Offensive Analysis?
It's not percentage in this case, it's the ability to complete passes when he has to hit a very small window. Max protect allows the defense to use more players in coverage. Thus the QB will be throwing into tight coverage more often.

I was beginning to think no one caught the pun - as usual

Offensive Analysis?
It's a fair comment. It's probably worth noting that Chuck Roberts was not known for catching the ball out of the backfield. IMO Jones' best release valve was #85
-
Offensive Analysis?
It will help, but effective offence starts with protection from the interior. Khari Jones could tell you what can happen when you have weapons at the skill positions but don't have adequate protection from the OL. Heck, Lapolice knows about that too - the more things change...

Offensive Analysis?
Particularly if he's given time to throw deep on a regular basis. That's one of Willy's real strengths

True story. I shared a Trump / Sanders impersonation clip on Facebook a few days ago. It got tons of attention - this morning it was gone...

Offensive Analysis?
It's not that simple. Montreal brought in Trestman as HC in 2008. He recognized Calvillo's ability as a quick release pocket passer and developed a max protect system where Calvillo would thrive. Willy does not have the quick release or accuracy that would allow Lapolice to implement a similar system. Unless Chungh continues to improve, Neufeld moves to 6th OL, Goossen steps up and they find an American RT in camp, I wouldn't expect much better results. I don't agree with everything the author wrote, but I do agree that a QB like Willy needs an OL that can dominate in pass protection.

It's usually prescribed for elementary students, although it is becoming controversial with more and more parents refusing to allow it.

Ritalin (the drug commonly prescribed for ADD) is actually pretty similar to cocaine. When someone actually has ADD, their brain reacts to it differently than yours or mine would.

Free Agency 2016...
Wouldn't the learning curve for a DB be just as intense? Different zone coverages, different rules, differences in what the refs call (or don't call).

Free Agency 2016...
The OL problems would go back further than '08, but the Ottawa expansion draft provided some stop gap solutions in '06. Then there was Alex Gauthier who never seemed to miss a game at LT while he was here

Assuming were done with FA, whats left on the shopping list?
As I've said before, protection first ratio second. Unless the Canadian OL really step up, they should consider 3 Americans on the OL. If that means Bucknor has to start in the secondary, they could go with a second Canadian receiver.
