That's the heart of the problem, right there. Fortunately, most churches are not like this.

Yes, just saw this on a Melissa Martin Facebook post. Total BS, the hotel owners deserve an apology.

Ahhh Dr. Bohemier - the quackiest chiropractor you'll ever meet - he convinced a fairly large following to not vaccinate their kids. I see he's still active after retirement...

A slight adjustment to the school calendar today - the 3 PD days that had been removed were added again - two before Christmas & one after Christmas. So, at least there'll be less traffic in schools on those days.

I was more than a little surprised that they didn't mention schools. March 23 was the day we shut down in Spring, with 24 cases. But remote learning is such a gong show - and a hybrid model is even worse. They are being informed about this every day by MTS. Also, many parents who chose homeschooling and remote learning are seriously regretting their decision. My prediction: unless the situation gets even worse, they will have as 'tough it out' until December, then make it an extended Christmas Break.

Most schools in Europe have stayed open, even when countries have locked down, with very little evidence of spread.
  10. And that's without all the mail in ballots that got set aside.
  11. It’s not a surprise at all - look at who he’s running against. The Dems ignore large swathes of America. The rust belt, the farmers, & the blue collar workers.

I guess it’s the best away to ‘make it look like’ something is being done.

Crap. Hope that doesn’t happen. Schools are not the problem.

Which pretty sad, when you stop to think about it. Except for Belgium, which is extending the fall break from one week to two weeks, I have not heard of any countries closing schools as part of their lockdown.

It all comes down to...what are we prepared to sacrifice, in order to keep essential services open?

That looks great. I work in Lord Selkirk school division. Now that we have had an outbreak at the local Mc D, we will probably see schools impacted. Side note: I actually thought singing had not been permitted since day 1, so I find it interesting that it gets mentioned now. We have been singing outdoors only, but now we can no longer do that.

No masks? No cohorts? No hand sanitizer stations? No extra cleaning?

It should not be ok. They can criticize our supply management, but dole out billions in subsidies to farmers. All their subsidies are doing is creating an artificial economy that is driving up the price of land. Land in South Dakota isn't much better than land in MB., yet the prices are double. Also, the colonies in the states always tell us - the money they get from farm subsidies, they pretty much have to turn around and spend it on medical insurance. There is really no net benefit.

They like his trade deals, and for the most part, the TPP definitely favours America. The previous campaign also appeared half baked and ludicrous, then he won. I think there is a significant portion of the American population that we don’t hear about from their media - we hear about the Biden supporters and the Trump extremists.

Thanks. He can’t fix the trade barriers - so he sends them a stimulus cheque - what a mess.

As I said, I got my info from talking to Americans. Do you have a link for that farm info? Farmers are a minuscule part of the voting population, and most lean towards conservatives and will not change. Funnelling money to them seems like poor politics, at best.

I guess I’ll mention the elephant in the room here. Do any of you talk to blue collar Americans? They can cite specific examples of how Trump is good for THEIR economy. This election will come down to the economy, that’s the bottom line. Yes, Obama had implemented some things when Trump took office, but Trump has also had an impact.

Thanks for the update. It's good to know that I can check MBB and get this info - shortly after 1:00 every day. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

They can essentially govern as a majority for the foreseeable future.
