  1. Okay so I dug into it ... I was able to come up with two guesses for players Forde was referring to. OL Josiah St. John from Oklahoma and RB Shaq Murray-Lawrence from UNLV.
  2. All I'm saying is that it's impossible to determine who the first choice was because they didn't come available all at the same time. There are tons of variables. We gave up something to acquire Willy and we know Barker was dangling the rights to Collaros for an asset in return. So did we negotiate with Barker? Or was Collaros not worth an asset to us? Then again, you could easily counter that by saying we gave up an asset because once Burris and Collaros were gone, our situation was more desperate and we NEEDED to get Willy. You can go in circles with this argument and nobody will ever win. Danny McManus is on record as being a Willy backer the entire time and that's good enough for me because the only thing that matters is whether it was a stroke of genius or an absolute fluke, it worked out for us and now we have a franchise QB.
  3. I'll be getting drunk in the game day chat tonight so come on down for a great time.
  4. Put it this way ... I agree more with your thread title than I do with the content of the article you linked to. It can be an ongoing debate forever but there really is no way to prove Willy was not the preferred option between Collaros, Willy and Burris.
  5. I would think the difference is that this message board's basic purpose is to talk about the team, the articles, and by extension the press. Where as you decided to call those posters out directly for doing pretty much exactly why this message board exists. As far as I know you aren't part of the Winnipeg media, so why do you care if people complain about it. Let's also consider the fact that I've seen numerous threads on this site discussing a well written article as well. We are not slow to give praise to a writer when they deserve it. We're probably even quicker actually, since we're all so desperate for them.
  6. I'm sure that's not going to light the fire of a rookie making his first start who was already fighting teammates in practice. Turned up the intensity just a little bit.
  7. What I think is funniest is ... they complain about the lack of access to practice. When's the last time anyone actually saw a detailed practice report from the media?
  8. Oh boy another post by TBURGESS who cannot restrain himself from ignoring these threads. Quite simply, if you don't like the discussions about the media, stop reading them.
  9. Give. Me. A. ****ing. Break.
  10. Agreed. Our complaining is what raised his game. He actually came over to my house with some freshly baked muffins and apologized to me for not playing the way I wanted him to. What did he bring you?
  11. Durant is still a junior and is part of the 2016 Draft Class. Who are the three guys Duane Forde was referring to yesterday then that haven't declared for eligibility but will be top 10 guys when they do? I figured one would be Durant. Can't a junior opt into the draft from the NCAA if he is in his 4th year? He redshirted a year if I remember correctly.
  12. I know I've already posted in this thread acknowledging I know what you really meant by your thread title. But I'm going to pretend I haven't. "How much taller did they make him?" There, that's my new post in this thread.
  13. Underrated receiver.
  14. Grigsby has been winning me over and I think eventually he'll make a believer out of other people too. Let's consider this for a second - he is on pace to total 1577 yards per scrimmage. The only two guys who would have out totaled him last year would have been Cornish and Sheets. Not Gable. Not Harris. And this guy is a rookie. Also, consider this ... his average in the first half of the season per rushing carry was 4.2 yards. Nothing too impressive. Since then? His last 5 games, including the 10 carry for 7 yard abomination, he has averaged 5.5 yards per carry. He's improved by over a yard per carry. His blocking has improved ten fold. He has yet to turn the ball over this year. He's no longer dancing around in the backfield and getting caught for losses. Grigsby is legit.
  15. Few surprises on this list, expected to see a few names that didn't show up. Also, Varga is super talented, but I'm not sure if he'll be a CFL player. He seems to be interested in pursuing a medical career so it will be interesting to see what choices he makes going forward with football.
  16. So apparently Lemar Durant is NOT eligible for this year's draft. Thought he would be.
  17. 10. Dillon Guy, OL, Buffalo 9. Mehdi Abdesmad, DL, Boston College 8. Sukh Chungh, OL, Calgary 7. Jacob Ruby, OL, Richmond 6. Alex Mateas, OL, UConn 5. Daryl Waud, DL, Western 4. Danny Groulx, OL, Laval 3. Nic Demski, REC, Manitoba 2. Tyler Varga, RB, Yale 1. Brett Boyko, OL, UNLV
  18. 20. Rory Connop, DL, Western 19. Jake Harty, REC, Calgary 18. Tevaughn Campbell, DB, Regina 17. Ese Mrabure-Ajufo, DL, Laurier 16. Karl Lavoie, OL, Laval 15. Nicholas Shortill, LB, McMaster 14. Sean McEwen, OL, Calgary 13. Brandon Tennant, DL, Laval 12. Chris Ackie, DB, Laurier 11. Addison Richards, REC, Regina
  19. He's a freak of nature. I think one of the most overlooked things about the new facility is what it is going to do for the Bisons program. We are going to have the ability to see a LOT of future CFL players in Bison colors.
  20. The CSB list is expanding to a top 20 as well. Comes out in an hour.
  21. Depending on what the NFL thinks of some of these guys, it very well may be possible. But I think when it all shakes down, there are a LOT of skill position guys who could make an impact in this draft class.
  22. I certainly wouldn't. Makes no sense, we can't constantly be recycling talent for potential assets in the Canadian talent pool.
  23. Brohm will be a 4th rounder based on where we are in the season (was a 2-4 round pick based on games started). And yes I stated Portis was a conditional pick. I'm aware. I was clarifying for everyone else. Don't worry, we all know you said it first. Thanks for clarifying my message that was already clear. Please just get over yourself already, not every interjection or addition to information you are providing is meant to be a slight on you. You're one of the members on this site who contributes the most as far as information goes but the way you seek credit and want to be acknowledged for it is so tiring to deal with.
