I'll put together some thoughts on the game a bit better .. but I will say this .. traffic in and out of the stadium tonight .. was very well managed .. zero issues getting in or out.

He did .. he just finishes quickly .. much like our draft. *innocent look*

Just wanted to say great work to everyone in League 2 .. we knocked this draft out in about 3 days .. looking forward to a bit of trash talk throughout the season!

When you think of the Fly .. think Wing-T or a spread option offense .. it's predicated on mis-direction .. use of no huddle .. bread and butter being a WR / Slot Sweep .. it's an offense that provides you with a balanced attack (not in terms of run / pass ratio but rather from all areas of the field .. sides .. depth etc .. then blends in an effective mix of run and pass). The idea is that this type of balance doesn't lend itself to tendancies and keeps a defense off balance.

It's going to be really simple: we get pressure on the quarterback .. we're going to be successful .. if not .. this defense gets exposed.

I echo this sentiment .. we have our guy in Muamba .. now we most decidedly need to bring someone in to push the backup talent at that spot .. I have a lot of respect for what Labbe has given to this team .. and for a long time his contributition was underrated .. but the drop off from Muamba to Labbe in terms of athleticism and playmaking ability is a liability.

Yeah .. my wife and daughter went to the concert last night and pretty much said the same thing .. going it was super easy .. coming out (partly because of their carpool) took quite a bit longer .. but not any worse than leaving CanadInns after a game. Easier to focus on the negativity though .. it sells.

While I don't disagree that our record proved us to be the worst team in the league last season .. I will offer one caveat .. we were decimated by injuries coming out of the gate and that played a large part in why our record was as bad as it was early last year. That said, I do agree that on the surface it doesn't seem that we've found people to really push the imports we have on our roster .. if nothing else, the young guys who showed promise last year (Washington for example) will have another year of experience and SHOULD be more sound. While I am disappointed by the loss last night .. I try to keep things in perspective .. it *IS* just a preseason game .. and by and large, completely meaningless .. though it would have been nice to see the team learning to win together before June 27.
