Ed Hervey
Part of that falls on the coaching staff and the level of preparedness / game plan they have going into each game. But you're right, Reilly needs to be more consistent coming out of the gate .. especially because his team simply isn't as deep or as good as their opponents (in most cases). However, it's a positive thing that he's able to rally the troops late and make things interesting.

Golf: Ethical Question
I prefer to use the toe wedge myself .. hides the LOFT I have with other clubs (Lack of F'ing Talent). ;-)

Doug Pierce released
Wpg Blue Bombers @Wpg_BlueBombers 2m Import wide receiver Doug Pierce has been released. #Bombers

Bomber Sign Rouse and Schulte
Reppin' the NFC North .. #BearDown I like the moves personally .. likely not have much of an impact this season but gets them acclimatized to the Canadian game.

Riders sign Chris Garrett!
I'd rather have Garrett on the roster myself.

Lions cut Elliot
Outside of Pierce, he's be the most experienced QB on our roster right now. Doesn't make him better. I start to wonder if a guy can't thrive in Wally's QB factory exactly how much potential does he REALLY have ..

Irving says...
One year tryout? Sure, he'll get that & a two year $600,000 paid vacation after that. This organization's been there. Done that. Not saying sign him for 3 years, saying give him a 1 year tryout contract unless we can find a STAR candidate for GM this offseason (Basically unless we get a Higgins/Hufnagel/Buono/Popp level of GM I would rather us keep Walters for a year and see how well he does) The only way you get anyone worth their salt to take the GM job in Winnipeg is A) you throw a tonne of cash at them AND B ) give them term. Nobody in their right mind is going to uproot their lives and come here given the mess this team is in unless you make it worth their while. Serious candidates will simply laugh at a "prove it" deal. Emphasis added to ensure clarity since it apparently wasn't obvious that I wasn't saying to try and sign a star candidate to a 1 year contract Doesn't just have to be a star candidate .. if you are offering ANYONE a deal to come to Winnipeg .. you're going to have to give them cash and term. Plain and simple.

Do you have any inkling who they are trying to trade for?

Such a damn shame to see him in green. Best of luck to Garrett.

New OL being brought in
Too true sir. I actually think Ricky Ray is underrated. It's amazing what a future hall of famer can do for a team and coach ..

Mulumba Update
Stefan Charles got released by the Titans earlier today .. misjudged who would have a chance to roster down south .. shame.

Mulumba Update
Bilukidi isn't going anywhere .. Raiders too thin along the Dline.

Mulumba Update
Packers waived OLB Dezman Moses. Moses recorded four sacks as an undrafted rookie in 2012, and is likely to generate interest on waivers. Final rosters are far from set, but the Packers appear to be rolling with Andy Mulumba and Nate Palmer over Moses.

Practice notes from August 28
Kinda funny how Morley is healthy for 4 years straight then suddenly gets injured when he's not even playing. As for the LB's, I'm sure Wild will play. But at training camp, I thought Sheffield looked like our best new LB prospect, I think he may still factor in at some point. Swiston got yanked in favour of Morley last week. Apparently he had two brutal whiffs on pass blocks and was taken out of the game. Apparently? It was brutal and like I said during the game chat .. I never thought I'd be saying this .. "But I'm glad Morley is in there right now".

Practice notes from August 28
It's not like the imports we've had on offense have been adding much to the attack as is ..

Based on Cauchy's play .. I'd be all for this .. Glad to see Douglas is back .. going to be a bit before he is in game shape but he can only be an upgrade over Boatman at this point.

Mike Sims-Walker
It's a positive thing that we are looking to improve and address areas where we've seen far too many lackluster performances. Will it pay off? Who knows. He may flame out or simply not adjust to the Canadian game but I'm glad they are bringing in guys to push people who may have gotten complacent.

Boltus and two receivers
Where should the receivers come back to? The defence is sitting is short zones and daring our QB's to hit a window, which they've done few times. If we had a QB who could make a read and a throw, you could put the receivers down. There is nowhere for receivers to come back to. We don't throw deep, our veteran QB can't handle a blitz and teams are just sitting in the middle of the field and short zones daring someone to beat them, which makes it almost impossible to run the ball without tossing in everyone to block. We're probably the easiest team to defend in recent CFL history. Word on the street (ok, heard it from Rick Ralph) is none of our receivers are running the correct routes, and TE is the only one actually performing on game day like he does in practice. Haven't watched many of the games (only listened) so can't judge. Is it really the vet QB can't handle a blitz or our OL is just that awful? Little of column A .. little of column B ..
