You are right of course the game of hockey is solely decided by how many pucks a team saves, not how many goals a team scores. Now I know, thanks for the education. When we win, the goalie played well. When we lose, the goalie didn't. The rest doesn't matter.

You confuse people rating a single players performance with a game result. The win is a team stat. Everyone would rather have the win. But you can still rate how a single player played.

Darling is a UFA, so you would either have to be giving up a low draft pick for neg rights or have had talks with him and be relatively sure you can sign him. Now even if you do all that, then you aren't protecting both Darling and Hellebuyck, so you will risk losing one of them. Best case would be to sign him without giving up anything in free agency.

They were saying on the radio today they figure the Jets can only lose 5 or 6 more games max the rest of the way if they want to make the playoffs. Not gonna happen.

Fair enough. I have no problem with discussing the news item, and I can't speak for other forums, but I think if your thread title had even said Sexual Assault from Syrian Refugee, you wouldn't have received the same reaction as you did here.

Is the point of the title of this thread for Canada to adopt the US ban on Syrian refugees? This is what everyone is dancing around here, and why people have posted the questions to you they have. The wording of this thread title is ... this is the first, implying there will be more. If there will be more, well how do we stop it, etc, tc. The next question is why do we not post about every sexual assault that happens in this country, why is this one singled out? Is it a horrendous crime? Yes. Should people like this be allowed in the country? No. So, are you suggesting all Syrian's shouldn't be allowed in Canada because we now have a "first" Syrian refugee who did this? If tomorrow an immigrant from Ireland does this, are you going to post a thread saying "First Sexual Assault by an Irish Immigrant in Canada"? Probably not. So yes, this is a tragedy and shouldn't happen. Lock the guy up and / or throw him out of the country. The title you chose frames it in a certain light, and it makes people question the motivation of the thread.

Expansion draft is June 18 - 20. Those goalies don't become free agents till July 1. So how exactly do we sign them to expose them for expansion?

I'm not in favour of privatization of Hydro. For privatization to work, I believe there has to be competition, otherwise you have a private monopoly. Who would Hydro compete with to provide power to Manitobans?

I think its all a political game on this point. the government will force Hydro down this path, with all the budget and job cuts, have all the bad press while they mull over the 10% hikes, so they can make sure they blame it all on the NDP, and everyone understands what happened at Hydro before they step in with some kind of money injection.

There isn't going to be an exemption for Myers.

Fluery and Bishop have NMC / NTC so it is very unlikely they would agree to come to a non playoff team. Plus Bishop is a UFA after this year, so why trade for him even if you could? Halak has one year after this year with a 4.5M cap hit. He might be an interesting veteran goalie to have behind Hellebuyck, but I'm not sure I'd give up a whole lot for him prior to the expansion draft. Vegas has to draft at least 3 goalies from the expansion draft, and pickings out there will be slim.

Is there any other league that hands the championship trophy to the owner first?
