If wishes and buts were candies and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas. This is my whole point that there ARE people out there who are not getting vaccinated. So how do you expect to get them out there to get vaccinated if the topic is not worth being discussed. If we all just want to call them names and tell them why they are horrible people, nothing will change. So do you care about getting people vaccinated or do you care about being righteous and telling people how horrible they are.

If you think this topic is not worth debating then you are just as bad as people who won't get vaccinated. Do you care about being "right" and simply shaming and calling other people out. Or do you actually care about societal impact like you claim and do what you can to convince people to being vaccinated. Shutting them out, calling them names, and similar tactics will only force them to dig into their beliefs deeper.

There are many people who are in the top 1% of what people can do, but don't get paid that money, and have injury risk. It is just in something other than the top professional sports leagues. Even if you want to keep this to athletics, there are a lot of Olympians who are in the top 1% of what they do that don't make that money. By your rational, you can't compare hockey players to basketball players, as the top 1% of basketball players make X, the top 1% of hockey players make Y, and top 1% of high jump athletes make Z. They all end up making what the market they compete in pays.

The real question is who does he bump off the roster. The fact that Harris, Oliveira, and Augustine are all Canadian, gives lots of flexibility here, because you can dress them all. So is having Harris at 85% better than the backup / special teams Canadian we'd have to take off the roster.

Isn't it just playoff money now to be on the roster? Seems to me I recall there being rules about not playing in playoffs if you weren't on the team before a certain date. Though that might just apply to players who were released from other CFL teams.

Makes you wonder if Chris Jones isn't already a done deal. He loves to be GM, Head Coach, and DC. Now they've cleared house to set that up.

I absolutely hate these things being tried in public, especially in the day of social media. Someone reports a bunch of tweets, those get jumped on and Cheveldayoff is automatically guilty and should be fired. I don't think he should be suspended now either. Let the process unfold. The meeting with Bettman is on Monday, it isn't months away. This is being taken seriously by the league. For those who don't think "justice" will be served, it already has on Chicago.
