  1. its interesting in looking at the stats of the two players that have reset the wr market Lewis and lawler Lewis in 6 seasons has hit 1000 yds only 3 times, average per season 1033 Lawler in 5 seasons has done it ONCE, averages 822 yds per season In the past two seasons since the market reset. Hardy, Hollins, White and Begelton and surprise Demski have all had more receiving yards. It just doesn't pay to invest in any one receiver the $ these two have and continue to make.
  2. just waiting for the Streveler signing, all that's left is Cole, Augustine Whitehead and Alexander Don't know if I've ever seen an ex gm/coach/scout raid his former club as obviously as Ted has
  3. Interesting that Hamilton has signed 7 players all but 1 ex bombers, and that one is Stubblefield who we also had interest in. ( Hubert, Fox, Garbutt, Wolitarski, Dobson and Lawler))
  4. Re Hogan hiring... why did this take months, when all along OShea was gonna go with the Bomber vet again. (timing strategy is likely to distract us on the lack of impact free agent signings)
  5. Im talking signing about other teams free agents especially this year when we are hosting the grey cup. As likely the most profitable franchise right now we can afford it, and as fans would really like to see that "big" signing. It seems we do the worst job in the league of replacing thru free agency quality free agents that leave this year we lost Lawler and Ford and who knows possibly Dobson. Replacements? last year Hardrick , Jeffcoat, we bring in a retread- Lofton (who did fairly well but not the same level, ) and try to go with rookies. We over spend on trying to keep our vets like Thomas Kramdl Lawton and even Lawler
  6. Its not the losing of starters that irks me, it the lack of signing significant upgrades or replacement.of equal quality starters. If we are negotiating against several teams its almost a given we are not getting that player. At one point can we not just show some b@lls and go all in even if its an overpay for one elite player?
  7. hope tsn isn't planning a big day in free agency coverage on the 11th, at this rate they are gonna have to spend the time talking about ac leonard
  8. Most free agent players go the dollars lead them period. otherwise many wouldnt be free agents. Culture etc may help in retention but not in attracting new players.
  9. Holm is listed as 180 and if they are exaggerating then likely Cobb is as well. Im not saying there isnt room for undersized players just not on kick coverage unless they are truly exceptional
  10. None of those guys are less that 175, Wilson didn't cover kicks, and during his time in edm Cobb didn't either. Gassama certainly won't. the aver db is 175-185, let alone those who are on kick coverage.
  11. whos the last db you saw that was 170 lbs or under 175?
  12. at 5ft9 170 he not blocking anyone, or covering on kickoffs. Likely hes a practice roster guy
  13. I'm not sure that Cobb moves the needle at all, he's at best a back up punt returner, as a receiver he's not the type of receiver that Zac likes to throw to. I know Walters said we would be more active in free agency, but Id hoped it was for some impact players
  14. Walters/bombers are at a big disadvantage with the anchor that is Collaros contract. The majority of teams have at least 175k extra to compete for free agents. If more than one team is competing for a free agent ie Stubblefield we will not get them. Have to wonder if the Lawler situation is handcuffing him as well
  15. on offence..wr ..lawler hasnt been signed yet, but hollins hatcher lewis all avail. I also like Kiondre smith (a nat but very good) then theres Mcewan, Couture, Cage Mckellar on oline on defence Stubblefield, Amos, Webb, even Adeleke and Cox could help
  16. Still a number of recievers out there, has any import reciever been signed yet?
  17. good chance that's why they also released Hatcher today before his bonus was due
  18. Seeing as the argos have lost Ormilade, Ceresna, Holley, Brinkman and Smith this offseason, maybe we can trade them Jake Thomas
  19. Did Hervey wake up this morning and rub his hands together....this is the day I scr*w the Argos?
  20. and they still have Fajardo, hes still a starting caliber qb
  21. I can just hear all the marketing money going thru the cash register
  22. you guys are right of course, i should have said Smith, and Korte so 7 starting cdns Metchie, Beard, Julien Grant. Gittens, Boyko, Smith and Ford - still a huge improvement
  23. Metchie, Beard, Julien Grant. Gittens, Ivy, Brinkman and Ford - doesnt get much stronger than that for cdn talent (is Toronto holding a yard sale?) Mcmanis is gonna look around and say "who the h*** are these guys around me?"
  24. Edmonton just needs to sign Ceresna and they have 3/4 of the argo dline. (kinda forcing argos hand to sign ceresna with Ormilade gone as well )
  25. Zac doesn't flourish under an average oline either, if we can't sign Lawler at a reasonable amount that's where we need to upgrade. Last year the coaches didn't seem to have any confidence in the olines ability to run against a good dline ie the argos, and Zac was playing nervous because neither did he. Ill also pose the question of who would have more impact on winning Ceresna or Lawler .?
