Week of BC Lions at Winnipeg - Western Final Edition
Absolutely. Now, when it comes to the other side of the ball, I wonder how VAJ is going to handle the deafening noise and the snap counts at IGF. I believe the more significant adjustment, transitioning from the dome last week to IGF this week, will be dealing with the noise, not so much the chilly weather. Vernon lacks the composure to remain cool under pressure if the crowd gets to him early.

1st Round Of Playoffs: Division Semi-Finals Week
Listen here Sonny Boy, I was a resident of Manitoba for more than five decades, and during that time, I didn't see curling gather many new enthusiasts. The true hub for curling fandom in Manitoba, I must say, resides within our personal care homes, where the seniors have a genuine love for the sport.

Week of BC Lions at Winnipeg - Western Final Edition
I have this expectation, this anticipation that little Ricky Campbell, he might just find himself outcoached and outclassed by Mr. Michael O'Shea once more, just like those last two visits. Perhaps next year, fate and fortune will decide to take a stroll on your side. Haha!

With Lapo, it seems like his coaching style hit its prime in the mid-2000s. His playcalling and strategies haven't quite kept pace with the game's evolution in the last decade. To be perfectly frank, I wasn't overly impressed by his role as an offensive coordinator here or his stint as a head coach in Ottawa. It's become evident that his true calling might just be at TSN, and I hope he finds his long-term place there.

West Semi Final GDT
I told ya'll before, and I'll tell you again. Allowing 30 points to those Calgary Stampeders, well, that's a pretty sharp critique of the BC Lions. You know what? I'm positively itching to drop another fifty-burger on them. And I have a sneaking suspicion that luck will be on our side next weekend. I'll be sending out positive manifestations all week, you can count on that.

1st Round Of Playoffs: Division Semi-Finals Week
You know, I've got a real soft spot for Canadian professional curling – the strategy, the precision, it's all just so elegantly beautiful. But I can't help but worry about whether the sport will continue to capture the hearts of future generations. We've got to make sure this piece of Canadian culture endures somehow. Curling and the CFL, they're both truly great Canadian cultural landmarks that we must preserve, lest we become fully Americanized.

Week of BC Lions at Winnipeg - Western Final Edition
Ah, yes, I grasp your point. But, you see, if you've ever resided in a place with a incessant humidity (which is unlike Winnipeg), you'll appreciate the bone-chilling embrace of a damp, 4-degree day. Those morning practices in Vancouver will leave them quite soaked and shivering. Never underestimate the bite of a damp cold, my friend.

Week of BC Lions at Winnipeg - Western Final Edition
The Lions don't practice under the cozy dome of BC Place. No, no, they've got themselves an open-air training setup in Surrey. And with the weather forecast, it seems like they're in for a damp and rather chilly week of preparation. Gotta love the unpredictability of the elements!

West Semi Final GDT
Did BC happen to muster a ground attack tonight? It appears they might have left it at home. Best of luck to them navigating the November elements in Winnipeg next week. Adams has a bit of a penchant for the indoor life, so don't hold me accountable for my lack of trepidation. You know, sometimes it's the quieter moments that speak the loudest, and surrendering 30 points to Calgary tonight might be just that kind of statement.

Well, there's a little-known fact about him - he happens to be rather proficient in French. Quite the hidden talent as Suitor had informed us.

West Semi Final GDT
The chicken bucket uniforms the Stamps sport, you see, they don't quite tickle my fancy. I'm holding out hope that they might consider a fresh look for the coming year. I'm not feeling like chicken tonight! Like chicken tonight! Like chicken tonight!

West Semi Final GDT
Jake Maier seems to find himself positioned somewhat at the less illustrious end of the quarterback hierarchy this year. Dave Dickenson, bless him, may have had a bit of a "culinary mishap" on his face. As for Bo, well, he hasn't exactly been the shining star, but he's managed to outperform Jake Maier. I must admit, there's a certain enigmatic charm to the Stamps' quarterback situation. One can't help but wonder if they'll dip their toes into the waters of Drew Brown once free agency opens.

West Semi Final GDT
In the mysterious dance of fortune, the BC Lions are moving as clearly showing they're experienced numerous defeats against the Stampeders and the Saskatchewan Roughriders this season. Their performance, all things considered, appears rather lackluster. It seems the whims of luck have chosen not to grace their side, haha!

West Semi Final GDT
The moment has come, and I can confidently declare this during this stage of the games: Neither of the Western teams intimidates me. They appear to be lacking in resilience, as they are consistently playing at the level of their competition.

They have the Most Outstanding Fans according to some Toronto sports journalists....

Here's a thought. If there were a category for "Breakout Player of the Year," would Kelly even be considered for the Most Outstanding Player? I doubt it. If he wins, we might as well rename the MOP award to the "QB of the Team with the Best Regular Season Record Award," but that lacks a certain ring to it.

1st Round Of Playoffs: Division Semi-Finals Week
Certainly, the Dome-dwelling team won't fare well in the open air at IGF, they'll be preoccupied with seeking warmth near the sideline heaters. Calgary, with their strong running game and month of snow shoveling already, seems more acclimated to matchup for the West Final, although I have reservations about them making it that far.

Brady's eyes are prettier than Dinwiddie's eyes. Deal with it.

Indeed, his journey through the NFL was quite remarkable honestly, given the path that got him there. However, it's unlikely he'll receive any more opportunities down south. I anticipate his return to the CFL next spring, and there should be several teams interested in his skills within our league.

If a random sample of 10 people from your team's city can't identify you, you should be considered ineligible for MOP. I'd bet a bottle of CC that Chad Kelly is more notable in Toronto for being Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly's nephew than for leading the Argos to their best ever regular season 😂

At times, I find solace in channeling the essence of my seemingly futile arts degree in English literature. I'm certainly no William Shakespeare, just an ardent admirer of his older works 😉

I don't recall ever observing Jackson's football abilities receiving sincere acclaim. The comments I've encountered were clearly draped in playful jest.

The award is for the Most OUTSTANDING Player. Kelly has performed exceptionally well as a first-year starter, but he hasn't quite reached the level of "outstanding". I can't recall any truly exceptional individual plays, highlight-reel throws, or remarkable sack evasions from him. Zach Collaros is undeniably an outstanding QB. Nathan Rourke was unquestionably outstanding last year. Chad Kelly took over the reigning Grey Cup Champion squad and has kept them performing consistently. On the other hand, Brady Oliveira has truly been outstanding this year. He has made numerous exceptional individual efforts, dominated in the fourth quarter, excelled in all the RB statistical categories, and amassed over 2000 yards of individual offense. He is undoubtedly the most outstanding player of the 2023 season, and he achieved this with a Canadian passport to boot. The CFL media should give him the respect he deserves.
