  1. O'shea has taken his fair share of criticisms over the years but it's undeniable that he's been instrumental in turning around the state and reputation of this franchise. We were the absolute laughingstock of the league and slowly but surely Walters and O'shea have turned the Bombers into one of the premiere destinations in the league and year in-year out contenders. I have no doubt that O'shea will win a grey cup as a head coach at some point. What I'm glad to see is that he didn't "learn" to do the job here and move on to Toronto to lead them. I'm 100% on board with O'shea's extension.
  2. I think the Riders going with Dickenson was the right choice, as much as it sucks. There's no reason a special teams coordinator can't make the leap - look at O'shea. Dickenson has had a long history in the CFL and knows the going ons. Was hoping they would do something desperate like hire Glanville, but oh well. I really hope they keep Mcadoo. That guy is awful.
  3. I have no problem with Walters denying permission. It's 2 weeks until FA and all of a sudden 2 months of plans change overnight if the OC is gone. It's not Walters responsibility to appease his subordinates, it's his responsibility to field the best team he can. If Lapo wanted a HC job he could have had it 2 months ago. Shoulda woulda coulda. Is it Walters fault that Jones walked and left a divisional organization in shambles in almost February? Christ no. This is just business and I think Walters did the best thing for the club.
  4. F*** I love Bighill.
  5. No GM No HC No DC No QB Upcoming 5-6 win season
  6. Can't wait for Pedersen to spin this one to his annual pre-season ranking of: 1A. Calgary 1B. Saskatchewan Edmonton BC Winnipeg
  7. Of course the Riders are going to try persuade him, but chances are basically nill that he signs there. Put yourself in his shoes. A 3 year extension at around 600k per year is going to offered by Edmonton, BC, Sask, and maybe even Calgary throws their hat into the ring. This very well could be his last contract if he wants it to be as he's not a spring chicken and he's made some decent money in his career. Abandon the city he played most of his career in (Edmonton), pass up the chance to play in Vancouver closer to family, to play in a dump of a small town in Regina? I HIGHLY doubt it. People forget that players have a choice of where they want to sign and lots of times money doesn't matter. The opportunity to sell insurance post career isn't going to bait anyone
  8. Oh. Oilers fans don't. Okay.
  9. I won't miss Lapo if he walks. He can't handle head coaching duties and offensive play-calling wherever he goes anyway. Their offense would destined to be vanilla.
  10. Jennings might have a chance in edmonton's offense. Scramble and 50/50 balls all day
  11. what's their beef? I honestly don't get it
  12. I don't understand the Ambrosie hate at all. This Mexico thing is stupid, but the endgame isn't to have expansion, I guarantee that. The endgame is to make contacts with deep pockets and to have the CFL on their TVs. CFL viewership is up 5% since last year and Ambrosie actually listens to the fans. If a rule is stupid, he changes it. If the fans want the season up a week, he changes it. It's confirmed that the Grey Cup will be a week earlier next year, which I personally like. Orridge was way worse in my opinion. He didn't listen to anyone. Ambrosie does.
  13. After settling down I think management rolls with Nichols for one more year, mostly because there's a shortage of quality quarterbacks in the league. If Bo walks, the west suddenly becomes wide open. You need two quarterbacks in the CFL. If Nichols has another pedestrian year, though, Strev gets the extension and Nichols walks
  14. Nichols just said, "I thought I played pretty good" HH to him for his delusions
  15. I actually agree. I'm fine with the coaching staff back. It's not their fault Nichols crapped the bed.
  16. The weird thing is he's almost certainly going to be back in the starting position next year even though he sucks. He's what, the 5th best QB in the league? And with Bo gone to the NFL he bounces up to 4th? Trying times in the CFL as far as QB quality goes. It's an ugly landscape these days
  17. Nichols misses Adams in the endzone. Nichols misses Harris in the flats with no one around him. 1st and 10 and no one around for a mile and Nichols hops around on his toes then doesn't take off until its too late even though he had a lane you could drive a bus through Mitchell had pressure in his face and got the ball out into the hands of his playmakers. Nichols didn't even give anyone a chance. The onus falls on him
  18. I'm okay with retaining our coaching staff honestly. This loss doesn't fall on them. No coaching staff can win when your qb misses open throws.
  19. Meh, It would realistically take 40-50 years for the Riders to reach the championship level success of the Bombers. That includes us never winning one for another 40-50 years. The streak means nothing.
  20. Dude, seriously everyone is against you in this discussion and you don't see it lol But you're right. Everyone else is wrong
  21. Will you just try save face for yourself and admit that Nichols sucked tonight? Yes, of course there were other factors. But please do it for you own sake, man. It'll at least give you some credibility for future discussion.
  22. That Nichols is exempt from criticism. That's what you're wrong about. This loss falls SOLELY on his shoulders alone.
