If Jericho is on the card, it will.
  2. All I know is that receivers have been taught to always get to the first down marker when the pass is short. Especially if we need 10 yards. Critical if under ten. Guys like Marquay McDaniel, Duke Williams, Vidal Hazelton, Manny Arceneaux, Brian Burnam, SJ Green, Brandon Zylstra & Weston Dressler can make YAC yards but most of our receivers don't seem to be able to do that. Darvin Adams can create space running his routes but he isn't the kind of physical receiver who can fight for extra yards like the other guys can. I haven't seen enough of Lankford & Thorpe to make a real good assessment as they are rookies but they look promising for sure to be the physical receivers we need.

Maybe but I almost get the impression someone wants to be the first one, the very first one, to tweet that he has died. Hospitals do issue press releases & have news conferences.
  4. If you look at the throws, a lot of them are in situations where the receiver can't get YAC yards as he has defenders around him who tackle him immediately. That's why we need to throw to receivers at the first down marker then make the catch & YAC after.

I think we need to wait until more info officially comes out. Just me, but if I was sick like that I don't think I'd like my fiancé tweeting out my condition or what surgery I had.
  6. Throwing short doesn't get first downs which is why we kick so many field goals.
  7. Edmonton has a lot of pressure on them as well. I'd say more than us. Their fans want to see them go to 8-0. You know that Esks fans think we're inferior to their team. The national media & TSN does as well. They will be expected to perform regardless of injuries. So, rather than the pressure's on the Bombers to win at home, I think it'll be on the Eskimos more to live up to their fanbase & media's expectations to win on the road & keep the winning streak alive. Edmonton has to lose at some point & they will. So they might as well lose against the Bombers.
  8. All I want to see is an offense that, if we need 6 yards we throw for 7 but not 3.

    Corbin is useless.
  10. Totally agree with everything you said.

Watching Jinder Mahal on Smackdown, it's hard to believe he was part of the gimmickly bad 3MB with Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre in 2014 & 15. Being able to recover from that horrible angle for all 3 is a miracle unto themselves.
  12. I absolutely agree. However, LaPo does have a habit of calling too many "safe" plays resulting in 3 points when they may have turned into touchdowns. Like dumping a pass off of 2nd & 7 on an opponents 25 yard line & getting 3 yards. Or some actually head scratching calls like on 2nd & 4 & running a sweep that's tackled for a gain of one or for a loss. When pushing down the field thru the air was working. LaPo gets conservative & the drive stalls. That's the criticism I see & drives me crazy at times watching it.

Ambrose & Rollins back together. Will Seth turn heel?
  14. He tried. Got to the CFL. Not many can say that. Not meant to be.
  15. The other 2 qbs with a much superior receiving corps too. Talent & injuries have to be taken into account. We lost Adams over a big stretch of games last year. Kohlert was virtually useless on the boundary as a wideout. Feoli-Giudino has been a huge upgrade at Canadian receiver & sadly he has been with us for 3 seasons & really never used properly. Nichols has had a lot less to work with over those 20 games until this season. That needs to be factored into the discussion .
  16. I prefer flying snowmobiles, don't you?
  17. No, I never really attacked you or was nasty. I just asked why you post so many threads yesterday & you took it personally. You attacked J5V all by your lonesome.
  18. Then stop doing it if you don't like it. J5V never even mentioned you. It was how he felt about Buono. Right or wrong, it's his opinion. Why should you take it so personally?
  19. Looks who's lobbing spit balls today.
  20. That's LaPo not Nichols. he calls the plays.

Yes, I saw that match in person. It was the last AWA match I ever witnessed as it was gone soon after. The sands of time have blurred my memory of the ending. I thought Flair won. However, you're the wrestling historian & expert here so if you say the ending was a draw then it was a draw.
  22. Wally was a great coach but he's 68. He didn't do near enough good job to turn around a cocky team last week & got blown out because of it. Then the Lumbala thing last night. Unfortunately, he'll decide when it's time to leave. No one will fire him.

What we do in the past can definitely catch up to us health wise at some point as we age. Sadly, I know first hand about this with a family member who was an alcoholic. Alcoholism didn't kill him per se but the related health effects of drinking sure did. My prayers go out to Ric Flair for a full recovery.

Saw Ric Flair wrestle Nick Bockwinkel at the Winnipeg Arena as the NWA Champ was wrestling the AWA champ in a unification championship match. I think that was 1984. Both organizations were about to be swallowed up by WWF expansion at the time & were on their last legs. Flair was NWA champ. Two greats going at it. The crafty old vet in Bockwinkel vs the young stud in Flair. In a rare occurrence, Bockwinkel was the face in that match with the crowd at the Arena cheering him on & Flair took a lot of heat as the heel. Flair defeated Bockwinkel to win the unified championship that night.
  25. LaPo did a pretty good job explain what was going on during the first half of every game. He took one play & then broke it down much more deliberately than Hank. It was easier to understand & he wasn't talking so quietly that viewers would miss a phrase or a description thereby missing the entire point of the discussion & go What???
