Regular Season Bomber News & Discussion
Too bad. If Leggett is finished as a player he deserved to go out a lot better than that.

Like I said, I'm clearing off all my debts because now I can. I no longer need a LOC, my house is nearly paid off. My car is paid off, & I don't want to buy another one. Both my sons are married. Now, I just want to be able to retire debt free. Live off my pension, CPP/OAS & RRSP's when the time comes. Your criticism of people in debt while noble, doesn't speak to the reality of where most people are at money wise. People need credit because everything is expensive. Not too many people have the spare cash to buy even a decent used car let alone a new one. In some cities like Vancouver & Toronto the dream of home ownership is... just that... a dream. We are taxed to the hilt & more by greedy governments. people are just getting by. Now we have to deal with Trudeau's carbon tax. So, jazzsax maybe you make the kind of $$$ that allow you to do the things you want to do. Most don't. Also, I've found thru my life experience that things change in peoples lives. Sometimes very quickly health & finance wise. You're laying in the tall grass one year & putting out brush fires the next.

I won't be retiring until I'm 68. Paying off all my debts so I can retire debt free then. I cancelled my credit cards & paying them off. I have a LOC I want to close at zero. My car is paid off as of the end of May. It will be my last vehicle I ever buy from a dealer financed. Done with all of that. I know too many people who retire with debt & have problems. I also know some who retired in their 50's & started another career & work more now than the job they had when they retired. All that stress. Why??

Baby Boomer. We were always told we could be whoever we wanted to be. That with a little hard work & sacrifice we could live the lifestyle we wanted. The land of opportunity.

That's a brutal injury. I remember a time a couple of decades ago that it was a career ender. For Leggett just being able to come back from that today shows how far medically we've come.

I think coming back from a torn achilles & to be able to play at the same level as before was asking a lot.

Wrestling
Pretty scary time for Joe Anoa'i. Hope he whips cancer's ass. How many of you knew he was on the roster of the Eskimos circa 2010?

That makes absolutely no sense. Age has nothing to do with stupidity Proof in point is when your fanbase shows up here for the most part the IQ level is between 0-5 for the dumb asses between 20-45 years of age.

Winnipeg Ice
We know one thing, they'll get no coverage from the Freep or Sun.

Riders @ Stampeders
I know that but it would be worse if it started happening a month earlier. Instead of being 12-4, the Stamps might be 7-9. Yet they can still finish first .

I do remember a decade ago when the owner of Canad Inns unveiled his vision for a new football stadium at Assiniboia Downs, Rider fans mocked it & called it a toilet bowl as well.

I think the hockey market in Winnipeg is saturated. Only so much $$$ to go around.

In the past, we've been visited by Rider trolls who came here to brag, boast or rub our noses in it. So, you have to understand that as well.

They'd be dead last in the West totally out of the race if the injuries to the receiving corps had happened a few weeks earlier. They might be 8-8 or 7-9 right now. That's why they're lucky in that respect. They're in the playoffs.
-
Riders @ Stampeders
Stamps are lucky these injuries to their receiving corps didn't happen a month earlier or they'd be out of the playoffs & sinking fast in the standings. The window to be championship closes quickly. they had their chance & blew it. Only a miracle will see them win the West & Grey Cup.

It would have a better chance to work if it was at Bell MTS Place. They'll be dead meat in Fort Garry.

He'll be a free agent come February.

Mitchell will make more money in the CFL than he would in the AAFL. I'd think he's looking at $600,000 a year two year deal under a new CBA if he comes back.

Yes. last year of his contract. There has been talk a number of NFL teams want to bring him in for a look/see this off season. I expect he'll conduct some workouts for some NFL teams. However, I suspect his NFL career will be very similar to his HC Dave Dickenson's. Go on the NFL tour as an extra TC arm or practice player.

US Politics
No, disagree. The Republicans were nothing like this 50 years ago. They were pro business with low taxes, like now. But their congressmen & senators for the most part were decent individuals.

BLM may not be as good as we thought. He isn't exactly putting the team on his shoulders, is he? For a guy in the running for the MVP award Mitchell looked like nothing close to it. And their secondary was awful all game long. Collaros wasn't hurried much either.

Winnipeg Ice
I don't think they'd do well out at the FT Garry campus. There's too much hockey now.

Stamps rapidly losing their mojo. They don't look good at all in the second quarter.

Game 9 : Honky Tonk Blues
You sure don't waste any time.

Fraser, that's not Charleston Hughes. It is another player from decades ago.
