You can't discount the Lions. That front 7 & receiving corps is outstanding. The Top 3 are in a league of their own.

What are your thoughts on the DL, in particular, Ricky Walker? Is he the real deal? Should they play Miles Fox as well in the rotation? I'm thinking Jake Thomas career is seriously winding down but he's Canadian so that plays into him getting playing time.

Last year, Dan Clarke was a warrior. The best damned OL to ever put on a Rider jersey. Now, with all the injuries the OL has had this season, the Riders don't bring him back. That's an odd one to figure out. Logan Bandy has taken his Center spot. Can't the former world's best OL, the biggest impact player to ever play the game not play Guard? Me thinks that cheeky ass speech he made at the CFL Awards where he mocked the sacks his line gave up & killing Fajardo rubbed team officials the wrong way. "No quarterback was killed in the making of this speech". Ouch. Kind of a dickish thing to say about your OL teammates in a major speech at the CFL Awards. I'm sure Dickenson, O'Day & Fajardo were laughing. Not. Some people just don't have a sense of humour, I guess..

It's happened before. More than a few times. Bombers won the GC in 1962 with an 11-5 record. In 63, missed the playoffs with a 7-9 record only to fall to 1-14-1 in 1964 (Yikes!!). The BC Lions won the 1964 Grey Cup with a record of 11-2-3. In 1965, the Lions missed the playoffs with a record of 6-9-1. The Calgary Stampeders won the GC in 1971 with a 9-6-1 record only to miss the playoffs the next season with a 6-10 record. The Toronto Argonauts played in the 71 GC with a 10-4 record. In 1972, they missed the playoffs & finished with a record of 3-11. There've been other collapses but you get the idea. Combination of bad decisions, age bad luck with the bounces going the other way for these teams & injuries to key personnel. Sorta like the way the season is going for us.
