CFL Draft
And, we put in a Import RB. Not a big issue. And if the Esks are starting Augustine, I'm certain we'll be in better shape.

CFL Draft
I don't necessarily agree with the assessment. How can the Lions have taken the second (?) best receiver two spots earlier than the best receiver and, as noted, may have already reached his ceiling and still be praised for the pick. To me, that's a miss and, it's a miss on their first pick. I'm not saying Hodge's analysis is correct, just question the rationale of putting BC on top when they didn't get the best available players. BTW, I trust Buono's analysis more than Hodge's. And not giving WPG top spot because they didn't take a receiver? Well, maybe they didn't think any of the available receivers were better than what they currently have. It's not as though you need to draft people in every position.

Rumor is Richie Hall may not be able to coach this year
This is really bad news. I hope he gets better really soon.

Hard Analysis: Is this THE year?
Agreed. And given that we'll have the next week off to prepare for the West Final, I think we run out all our starters!

The Most Important Passing Stat - 2nd Down Yardage?
Wins is not part of the calculation, so how can wins be a driver in QB Efficiency?

CFL Draft
TSN was saying that they were looking at Bladek or Judge at 2. If they got both, you can't blame them for the pick because they got both. Now, whether their analysis of these players is good is another story.

CFL Draft
Wasn't his quote something like "most talented player left on the board"? Very odd comment. Surprised they didn't take Behar, actually.

CFL Draft
Wally did, what Wally does - puts together a solid draft. Maybe the best. I'm surprised that he took Vandervoort. I would have loved to have seen the expression on Austin's face when that pick went down. Walters and Wally won the draft by getting the first and third overall picks for a very low (no?) cost. The Riders made some very odd decisions, IMO. They need NIs to play now, not in the future or maybe never. We'll see how well Jones did by the end of the year.

Upcoming Movies
I didn't know that. That makes more sense. But, boy, oh, boy, I bet it will be terrible. I still haven't seen the Disney version but I heard really good things about it.

Upcoming Movies
The stories were published in 1894. I don't think Disney owns the rights to Jungle Book, I think it's in the public domain There are plenty of adaptations of the story in film and TV that are not Disney. It does seem very odd for WB to be making this movie again.

And he's coming off a major injury. Popp is obviously still a believer.

Around The NHL 2016/2017
I feel bad for the owner. He puts a lot of money into that team. That being said, he extended Murray and let Bylsma get a long term deal. It's going to be an interesting locker room next year. EDIT: Maybe it's Troy and Jim that all the shots in Buffalo?

It's still privately owned but it is operated by the WRHA. I'm wrong.

Random News Items
Pan Am Clinic is privately owned and has an MRI machine.

Random News Items
Of course, the Jets would just put a player on a plane and fly them to Minneapolis. Much quicker and cheaper than buying the province an MRI machine, which would then have to be staffed and maintained.

2017 NHL Playoffs
Well, we only need two top 6 RWs. I would say we have them in Laine and Wheeler. Not sure we need to "replace" Stafford at all.

Around The League Off Season Discussion
If the allegations are true, Cox is a piece of human garbage and doesn't belong in the league. I don't care what team he plays for and hardly hold the team accountable unless they're enabling him. In the past, players would kept on the roster much longer. All teams give players second chances (Riders signing him after incident in Kansas City) but that should be it.

2017 NHL Playoffs
Yes, we do have someone better to take his place. I'm going out on a limb here by saying that Laine is better than Stafford.

RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
Final NHL Central Scouts had him 27th among North American skaters. So, not even 27th overall. Just 27th available from NA.

2017 NHL Playoffs
True. Although, PK is on team defense, I believe.

RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
Let's not forget Chevy's home run with Morrissey. He went off the board for him, when he was ranked late in the first round. Around 26th on most boards, I think.

2017 NHL Playoffs
Goal scoring wasn't a problem for this team. Team defense and goaltending were. Stafford is not good at getting back.

Wrestling
You think of the great 'technicians' that would work a guy over. Some of the best PPV matches (Ricky, Savage, Flair, etc.) would see someone work someone's knee over (or another body part) the whole match, setting up something like a figure-four. Too bad WWE doesn't value that.

2017 NHL Playoffs
Wait until next year, when the Jets get bumped out of the first round of the playoffs and we're told to wait a few more years because these kids are just learning to play in the playoffs. Our vets have barely seen the playoffs. I'm seriously starting to regret this Winnipeg Jets 2019 Stanley Cup Champions tattoo.

2017 NHL Playoffs
I've already had to 'mute' most Toronto based media on Twitter over the past week. It's ridiculous. I've even had to turn off hockey news from the Score app because every time a Leaf breathes, I'm getting an update.
