Province Portion of IGF Debt written off
You're right, Maple Leafs Entertainment (which also owns the Toronto Maple Leafs) has done wonders for the Argonauts franchise. They haven't neglected the Argonauts at all.

Province Portion of IGF Debt written off
This is a terrible idea, the Jets would absolutely let the Bombers wither and die as they are in direct competition with the Jets for entertainment revenue.

Redblacks @ Tiger Cats
Isn't that usually what happens when you start your car in fourth gear? Maybe that's how Rod drives. They're second in the East right now, they'll be tied for first if they win this game (with a .500 record no less).

Yes - the double reverse flea flicker play at about the Argo's 30 yard line.. usually flea flickers are designed to get the defensive backs to bite on the run, but from where they were on the field, the Argo defenders could recover on route coverage because the ball was already at about the 30 yard line. On top of that - having the ball change hands three times (Nichols -> Player A -> Player B -> Nichols) before making a pass is asking a lot from your offensive line, as the play takes longer to develop, not to mention more laterals means more steps where things can go wrong.

Yes - but my point is that trick plays have added risk for a reward we don't need against the lowly Argo's. Absolutely but that kind of play is generally reserved for creating a spark when the team is struggling - not as an opening kickoff thing. I just thought it was too cute.

Sure... but if you kept it in your bag of tricks, they'd be even less likely to recognize the formation... at a minimum, you would have one more play from that set that the opponent won't have tape of which would be the play you ran against the Argo's. Yeah but I think we're playing a bit with fire here - trick plays are great when they work. The big problem is when they blow up in your face - would we have seen a different outcome last night if that lateral on the opening kickoff was bobbled, and Toronto recovered? Would certainly have set a different tone.

There is a time and a place for trickery - I just don't understand the logic behind running all the razzle dazzle against a vastly inferior team. You showcase your gadget plays against one of the worst teams in the league - it makes it easier for other (tougher) opponents to sniff it out when you might actually need that play in a game.

1. Harris - not as explosive as last week, but still keeps the offense chugging along. 2. Medlock - Perfect on the night and piled on the points when they were available. 3. Alexander - Argo's tried to get after him last night, but he kept his own. HH - Mike Miller for the beastly block. Franklin was absolutely atrocious... for those keeping track, the single-game record for most turnovers in a single game by a team is 13, set by the Bombers in their own backyard against the Argos on July 20, 1990. The Bombers still somehow managed to win that game 34-17.

Game Day Thread- Week Seven: Toronto @ Winnipeg July 27, 2018
Between Montreal and Toronto absolutely tanking, its looking like it might be yet another crossover year...

Edmonton @ Montreal
End of the day there are three things you absolutely cannot do without in the CFL: QB, kicker and a good offensive line. Any of those pieces at all shaky, and it will cause you to lose some games. As much as the Bombers outplayed Toronto last week, if Pfeffer hits those two FGs in the first half, the score is a one possession game (25-17).

Edmonton @ Montreal
Obviously football is a team sport... but Muamba has managed to be on some pretty bad teams in the CFL: 2011 - Winnipeg - 10 - 8 2012 - Winnipeg - 6 - 12 2013 - Winnipeg - 3 - 15 2015 - Montreal - 6-12 2016 - Saskatchewan - 5 - 13 2017 - Saskatchewan - 10 - 8 2018 - Montreal - currently 1 - 5 Makes me wonder how much of a leader he is, and how he would respond to playoff or clutch situations.

Around the League: 2018 Season
I say it begrudgingly, but we have pretty good support for a team that hasn't won a Grey Cup in almost three decades. I think many people underestimated how much goodwill the Bomber burnt through with the botched construction of IGF... your other points are good though.

Around the League: 2018 Season
I hope this circus lasts until Labour Day and he gets absolutely trucked by Harris.

Around the League: 2018 Season
I know you're a Rider fan, but sometimes even you guys are right by mistake. No place for this in the league, and I think the CFL should be commended for their strict policies with respect to domestic violence, there are other much bigger leagues that would easily look the other way.

TO - Argos - What to do about attendance
Was the Argo's offense on strike?

When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)
Obviously this trade is a sign that Walters peruses MBB and is freeing up cap space to bring back Greg Carr, Aaron Kelly and a slew of other previous Bomber WRs.

When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)
It's on condition that he catches one pass in the 2018 season... we're doomed.

Als About To Drop Willy & Matthews? Manziel Now An Al
Between the Al's record, and the foreign exchange, probably.

Als About To Drop Willy & Matthews? Manziel Now An Al
That's too bad, it would've been nice to see Montreal continue that drive.

Als About To Drop Willy & Matthews? Manziel Now An Al
Porous o-line, QB flavor of the week, desperate play-calling and QB kneels to go into the half down 18. Bienvenue à montréal!

Als About To Drop Willy & Matthews? Manziel Now An Al
Alright... there's enough evidence to overturn the call, but not enough evidence to get the players' jersey number right on the penalty call? Way to go CFL...

That is just disgusting that Mitchell was 12/12 for a while...

I enjoy how this thread was completely derailed from the get-go by the thread title.

1. Harris - New single-game career high for rushing total 2. Nichols - No turnovers and he had a that big third down sneak. 3. O-line - They often don't get the credit they deserve HH - I gotta say LaPo because his play-calling was much more suited for the situations in the game. No turnovers on downs, and Harris was well-fed.
