Injury Report, Lineup Changes, Roster Moves
We already signed a DB last week who has some upside. The guy who's missing a couple digits. It might be in the teams best interest though to move Alexender to halfback and stick with the Canadian safeties who were playing quite well. Is Houston done for the year?

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
The bearish outlook on Streveler is what happens once the starter is healthy. Do they move white to the practice roster and release Streveler? Or do they cut Flacco and keep Streveler on pr?

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
Are we not approaching the end of a second stint for couture? I dint realize there was a difference between what Dobsen would make on the dev roster and the active roster. If he comes back to the cfl now Winnipeg would be front runners for sure. I don't see him signing a long term deal right now so he's just looking at making some money and then reevaluating his situation in the off-season. So the playoff money is key and also the familiarty in Winnipeg will put him in the best situation to look good down the stretch and maybe get another nfl look.

I guess we can start selling playoff tickets now.

Stumps @ Back 2 Back Champs: Week Of Thread
Would we have Ford returning kicks if Grant is a no go. Until this week I've been taking his health for granted.

CHAMPS vs. Flappers - early thread
I believe Harrison is in the lineup because we don't have any Canadian backup receivers. I wonder if we would look at signing Mike Jones as a backup who was released by the Elks.

Injury Report, Lineup Changes, Roster Moves
I was thinking we would use McRae when we are using a tight end formation. But honestly I'd keep Agudosi in due to his size he probably is a decent blocker.

Perhaps Winnipeg will trade Dubois and sign Kadri.

Injury Report, Lineup Changes, Roster Moves
My only concern is that we are a little bit thin. Rose is coming off an injury and wasn't able to excel in the first two games. Who's the next man up if Rose continues to struggle or has an injury set back.

Thiadric Hansen signs !!!
He's a great rotationary piece. He is very strong and gets to the quarterback. Being a global it frees up a di to provide depth somewhere else. Glad to have him back. He replaces a defensive end who probably doesnt do much on special teams.

Week 2 - The Champs @ RedBlacks - GDT
In the CFL that's almost always the case in week one. Last season was a special year but we thought we were weaker in some areas. Especially the secondary. Last year we recruited tremendously well thanks partially to the XFL folding. Before Winnipeg started resting players Winnipeg was was on the most dominant teams in CFL history. The team has taken a step back in talent this year but could very well still be the best team in the league.

Week 2 - The Champs @ RedBlacks - GDT
If I had to pick one Id say the Redblacks have improved by more than the Bombers have regressed. Redblacks could be the beasts of the East.

Week One Ottawa Vs Winnipeg
I guess Dobsen isn't dressed due to his lack of ability to play several position on the offensive line.

2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
It somewhat depends on how many snaps he is typically on the field for and how often we bring in a defensive back for him. If he is typically on the field for 60% of snaps its not that much of a drop off to move that to 49% percent and use a combination of Canadian DB's and linebackers. I wonder if remaining free-agents who quality as Nationalized Imports. Here's a complete list. Don Unamba Drake Nevis John White Kenny Stafford Bear Woods Ciante Evans Josh Johnson Jamar Wall Alex Bazzie Devier Posey Chris Rainey Another potential impact could be to American kickers. Long term you are wasting an opportunity to have a Nationalized Import on offensive or defense by using a DI at kicker. That position could move more towards national/global as time wears on.

I made a list of possible nationalized import on the bombers roster. My vote is to give Bighill the honor of being our nationalized import starter. 37 Alexander, Brandon DB A 6'0 180 28 UCF 4 Bighill, Adam LB A 5'10 219 33 Central Washington 66 Bryant, Stanley OL A 6'5 313 36 East Carolina 2 Ellingson, Greg WR A 6'3 211 33 Florida International 51 Hardrick, Jermarcus OL A 6'5 319 31 Nebraska 94 Jeffcoat, Jackson DE A 6'3 243 31 Texas 5 Jefferson, Willie DL A 6'7 242 31 Stephen F. Austin 9 Taylor, Nick DB A 5'9 181 34 Florida International 19 Wilson, Kyrie LB A 6'1 221 29 Fresno State

The bombers are likely situated well to utilize their wealth of Canadian defensive backs as essentially a starter. Depending i guess on how much Dime we play. You could start a Canadian linebacker and Kyrie Wilson can be a nationalized import who plays the majority of the time when we actually have a linebacker on the field. And the rest of the time we bring in one of our many Canadian defensive backs in passing situations.

Regarding the 3 additional nationalized import playing a maximum of 49% of snaps. Lets assume a scenario where we have Jake Thomas and Kongbo is back with us from the NFL and due to some circumstances Jackson Jeffcoat is not available. We start Thomas at DT and Kongbo at DE. Does this mean that a DI who is a nationalized american can play 49% of Kongbo's snaps at defensive end and also 49% of Thomas' snaps at DT? Ok so if that's not how it works the other way around is even more suspectable to manipulation. If a given DI nationalized import can play a maximum of 49% of the staps period in place of a national it opens up a different scernio. The Bombers could have two nationalized americans who backup up at defensive tackle. Each could play in place of Jake Thomas for 49% of the snaps which would add up to a total of 98% or essentially an additional american starter. Id like to see some clarity on how exactly this works. Probably the league doesn't even know how it works yet!! Too busy negotiating to worry about the practicality.

Believe me. This wasn't about the fans this was about the league and players fighting over scraps.

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
Would love to see Steveler back here but thats unlikely due to cap issues. Maybe if he waits a while and we get an big injury or something it could happen. BC and Edmonton seem more likely if he plans to come up here now.

I take Chevy's comments regarding Scheif as a message to other GM's that he's not selling him on the cheap.

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
Sounds like Liam Dobsen was passed over in Chicago Bears mini-camp. The bears signed 6 undrafted free agents from their rookie mini-camp including one offensive lineman but not Dobsen. Assuming nothing has changed he should currently be in Saints mini camp. I would imagine that within 3 days or so we should know if he's been offered a contract.

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
The importance of a second elite corner has increased with the changes to the hashmarks. Hopefully both of these National corners can become ratio breakers but the barrier of entry with the rule change I think got a little bit higher. Hopefully Dobsen comes to the bombers in time for training camp but if we do need to wait for NFL cuts we have the ratio flexibility to start an American guard until alexander is healthy.
