I’m really sick of hearing about how Scheifele hit a ‘defenseless’ player. It’s just completely false. Seriously, you can think it was legal/illegal, dirty/clean, suspendible or not, but saying Evans was defenseless, is ridiculous.

Fair enough. Maybe I’m wrong, but I was coached to hit a guy with his head down. Times have changed, but body checking is still allowed and if Evans pops up like nothing happened, nobody is saying anything. Agreed on hoping He’s okay... Don’t want to see anyone get hurt.

Did he leave his feat? Didn’t see that in the replay. Player was vulnerable because he was so focused on tucking the puck in and didn’t have his head up. Maybe he should have been more aware of his surroundings.

The result was tough, but that seemed like a clean hit to me.

That delay of game penalty and the subsequent goal, was an absolute back breaker. Knocking a puck out of mid air and out of play, shouldn’t qualify for the rule. The player has no control over where that puck is going.
