So for Saturday's game, I am looking forward to seeing how they use Streveler and how he looks, Shay/Smith/J.Jones at linebacker, if any of our returners stand out and how the receivers not named Kevin, Nic and Dalton look.

I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't appreciate the Trews at least somewhat.

McEwen and Gannon both out is awful for them. 2 Starting NIs too. I'd feel bad for them but then I remember its the Riders.

Not sure if it was hammy, but Bighill attempting coverage late in that game while having zero ability to run is the one that stands out most to me...

forgot the most important part....NFL politics Who was drafted...who has money invested already....who has hype....and who is a CFL refugee.....Poor Pokey is missing all those 3 key ones....AND has the CFL refugee status...we will see him in the fall....if not sooner....he may not even get to main camp..sadly for him...Bonus for us...Gimme a Pokey/Schoen/Demski/Big Kev quartet...and I would gues Dillon Mitchel and one of White/Stern as a backup...we can roll with that

I know I'm an unabashed fanboi, but I feel like Ed's actually been doing even more than usual this year. He's not only doing daily reports but also has weekly wrap ups with "Who Stood Out" and he's even been doing a podcast on YouTube with his take on things so far. So while I can't speak for the other outlets, Our Man Tait has been putting in a concerted effort to really cover it as well as he can.

Not quite true. Wilson was getting a lot of reps with the 1st team offense early in main camp last year so there was some talk. He was also listed as one of our neg listers in Sep 2023 and then signed to a futures contract a month later so he was already on the radar prior to last year. The problem is that we don't hear a whole lot about camp in general anymore - doesn't matter if it's an established vet or a rookie.

With the carnival idea , I think maybe Dreamland Diner might be the only one who is close to doing it? I know around the McPhillips area they have a funky corndog place which I have not tried yet. I'd stick with food trucks over a restaurant, I've known a few people who have opened up restaurants and it's high risk/stress, money pit, and a lot of work to keep afloat. The costs really add up quickly and the post Christmas slump kills a lot of places. At least with the food trucks you can drive in to where the customers are and during the winter months I'm assuming you would be in the States running the circuit. In an over saturated market like Winnipeg it makes things much more difficult. If I were to do a restaurant in Winnipeg I'd 100% buy into an existing franchise, it's far more safe.

He was at their rookie camp a week and a half ago and he's at their OTA's now but I haven't seen him mentioned once so far. Given his status as an UDFA/CFL guy, he needs to standout to have any shot, and so far he hasn't done that.

Thing about hammies is that they tend to dramatically effect performance as well. No real way of hiding a hammy.

yeah...Has a nice mix of receiver types...Plus BO tenderizing the defence.....If ZC is dialed in...and Strev gets reps and packages as a legit dual threat QB...we be cooking with gas I actually like the kid we just picked up from Laurier....could sneak on roster too as a Canadian backup...

well we played a couple in a Grey Cup recently....but that more a roster issue about evryone is a starter was B.S.....but hammies even a slight tear....stay off field as u could jepordize the whole yr...has to heal cue up the excuse train....chug chug choo choo!! yeah guys may try...but man u risking your season....hammy inury not one to fool with

I know this has been done in the US (my friends stumbled upon https://juicysfamousfairfood.com/ when they were in Florida) and it gets pretty good reviews. This place didn't have games though so your idea might be a step up in providing that carnival feel. Personally, I couldn't see it being a regular thing for me but I don't have kids so I'm probably not the target market for that kind of place. Would definitely try it a couple times though.

Hi guys. I've been sitting on a restaurant theme for a while and figured I'd Guage the reaction here first. As some of you may know, I own a few concession trailers, mostly based on carnival foods. I've been floating the idea of opening up a carnival foods style joint. Carnival themed, with some games, of course all the carnival favorites. A new weekly item from the ridiculous American midways. Of course would still carry the burgers, fries, etc but the angle is on the carnival stuff. Cheese curds, hand Dipped corndogs, blooming onion, Funnel cake, oreos, donuts, etc etc Does this tickle anyone's fancy or nah. Keep it to an annual novelty

I think some of us have forgotten there’s been a shift in the kind of talent that comes up here. Plug and play is the exception, not the rule. Some of these guys need time to develop. I don’t love Case or Mitchell either but their presence last year isn’t a mark against them

Hi yeah, I own 3 of them. One is bloomin onion/poutine Mini donuts/lemonade Deep fried: cheese curds, corndogs, cheese cake, oreos, chocolate bars, basically anything you can deep fry I've considered a lot going to the states. My spouse is a nurse. I travel all of western Canada from june-end of September. If I left her for an additional 3 months she'd skin me lol

Talking mainly about the hype machine. Around here we tend to hear a lot about some guys and bupkus about others because someone went to camp one day....lol

It was good for the first pre-season game, I think they tied the audio to the Lions radio network but not entirely sure. Nope.

Unfortunately, I’ll be out of town Saturday, so won’t be able to be at the game. Hopefully the CFL+ stream is good.

yeah....not worth pushing a guy for a variety of reason...Re-watch the 2023 Grey Cup and watch Bailey.....we may have just pu 11 guys out there as MTL payed no attention to him after they realized he was useless

Ok....what about weight of all these guys, YAC ability, speed testing, ability to contribute on teams etc. He is of below average height, far below average weight, and has mediocre testing numbers and not much for YAC or ST ability. If it was solely a height thing I guess he's average in his competition....but there are also many other factors working against him.

That's awesome. The Trews are solid.

I would think there is a high probability he returns late in the season. His size works against him in the NFL imo. He doesn't flash any kind of outstanding testing numbers and is small. He will get a look based on his resume here, but in the NFL guys his size and speed rarely get any kind of a real look. There is a very real chance he doesn't even make it to camp. If he does, he will need luck on his side to make it past first cuts. Sorry...but 6 foot 175 lbs is very small for the NFL.
