I hope those guys keep up their amazing picks this week. From the 10 guys they had picking games last week, 8 of them picked Edmonton to win. The two guys who have clearly paid attention knew that we've played really well against mobile QB's this year while the rest had these gems:

For whatever reason BC just couldn't cope with this ... both Rourke and VAJ kept trying to hit those intermediate routes against us despite the fact we had that part of the field locked down with men high and low. Would really expect them to have more of an ability to adjust. Was not impressed with their offensive coaching in our home-at-home.

Curious to see the rotation and who is where in certain sets, but if used well be i think a pretty aggressive defense I would also like to see us put Karamoko in for Weitz as well....He can be used on defense and offers the same if not more on Teams

100%. That is my favorite play to see from a DL. That means not only does the guy have the athleticism to do that, but the relentless motor to succeed in general. Tom canada was a high motor guy too. Our better finds among imp DTs have been those types. Bryant, stove, sayles etc. Especially the good 3 tech types. And slants. Oh man did he used to carve us up baaad throwing 10-15 yard slants at the seams.

those plays where a DL recovers from their pass rush and gets on their horse to make a downfield tackle ... I hate to give up the yards but man I love to see the giddyup from the DL. I remember that Gavin Walls was especially good at chasing runners down from behind.

I would like to see Randolph at guard, with Pat and Eli coming in to punish people in the heavy sets. Could also rotate Neufeld and Randolph, to allow the flexibility of an extra American receiver on a few passing plays - that'd be a good role for Lucky.

My take: If you're eliminating most of the downfield stuff, especially explosion plays, and you're getting turnovers because your scheme puts athletes in good position... Then the odd screen or check down for a first down...is probably a play you can afford to give up.

Amazing how much more professional the Elks have become since relieving Jones... They may not make the playoffs after the (potential) back-to-back losses to the Bombers... but they definitely feel like a team that's finally on the upswing in the west

Stanback could jump in if he wins, I don’t think any other wr would though. Milligan will split votes with the rider bias, but I don’t think he would win modp votes over over beverette or our candidate. The top performers on D are all too close for one to win mop imo. Teams aren’t looking for imp guards though. If he was actually a tackle maybe, but Richardson was much better and didn’t get poached. Also, I don’t think vanterpool would be notably worse at guard. You should be able to find imp guards at will in general. Teams just don’t have the ratio flexibility and invest a lot into ni ol on the interior.

One thing I wonder about match coverage is that you often see the RB one-on-one with a linebacker. Seems like there's a solid opportunity for checkdowns and screens there ... get a mismatch with an explosive back like Bell or Leake out there against an MLB, maybe an OL sneaks out of the line to block downfield too... spread the receivers to spread out the DBs and create wider lanes downfield -- line up in a 4x1 and run the play to the short side where there are fewer DBs to rally. You're not going to get home runs here, but you'll make first downs...

Bombers can clinch a playoff spot with a win Friday night. Who could have imagined 6 weeks ago at 2-6 that would be the outcome right now. Pretty amazing.

completely agree... Biggie announced on social media that he's not done... hopefully the Bombers brass disagrees... if he wants to sign a cheap-ish 1 year deal and sit on the six game all year as a defacto additional defensive coach... I wouldn't be opposed to that
