I'm more concerned about Leake..and co. Ripping us a new arsehole if we continue a 3 man front with Jake on the nose...or those sets with him and Schmeck together...that's where we will get killed
  2. Jumping in late here. I am unhappy in how Buck had been using Streveler. He allowed our 2nd string QB to be used as a battering ram on almost every play - the defences knew this and keyed on the run. Buck wasted Streveler's talent, and he was broken down, game after game. He did not let Streveler attempt to play as an actual 2 dimensional QB. If he let Streveler in for a series once a game - and let him run the O - at least the team, and the fans could have seen what Streveler was capable of. This is 100% on Buck, and yes, our O has had bad-luck when it comes to injuries, but he needs to do better.

Lapo looks at Zach's play in the Banjo Bowl. Another great informative video, with the main takeaway being that Saskatchewan was playing a zone defense designed to prevent explosion plays, and Zach was checking down a lot because that's what was there. He was game managing much more than gunslinging, and we won the turnover battle and the game. The throw to Wilson was impressive to me, the window to complete that pass is open for less than a second and the ball arrives perfectly on position and on time. I can't imagine the level of brainpower, vision, and athleticism it takes to play QB at a high level. For all we grouse about these guys, they're basically superhuman.
  4. I think the issue is the Riders. Next year before the first Winnipeg-Sask game, the CFL should preemptively suspend a Rider pass rusher to be safe. 🤣

well today was my last day at the school I had been working at for the last five years (the board office decided that a different school in the division needed me more than my now old school did) and my co-workers surprised me with Krispy Kreme....which btw is way out of the way of the school division

The same kenny lawler that was our pass game in 21? The same one who nearly put up 1k in edm in 12 games then again in 12 games here? Laughable. If lawler isnt a workhorse, then there isn't one in the entire league right now.

Ppl pretending like our starter went down when it’s our backup who wasn’t allowed to pass the ball.

I expect adams and maybe hubert will draw back in and an imp db will go off. Even with jake taking too many reps, if Garbutt, adams and woods are on for most of the run plays edm won't have a ton of success. I also expect we will have nichols cover the out side run fit on his edge again. Too bad we don't still have a bigger Lber who can come on to help gap cancel. Any of Gemmel, Petrishen, Moses, and Thomas would look darn good against Edmonton.

Buck should just dress...show us all how this scheme is supposed to work....easy on the SMS too
  10. I get what you’re saying, but the nature of scouting in general today is that you nit pick every single possible tiny flaw. No one has clean scout reports ever any more. On the nfls draft scout page they use a 3-8 grading system. 8 is perfect 5.5 is priority free agent. The vast majority of prospects who play in the cfl and nfl as rookies every year fall between a 5.1 and a 6.5, the big differentiator these days between nfl talent and cfl talent, is size and athleticism. We get a few guys league wide like Adam’s each yeah, every nfl team gets one or two like that. Now the difference between elite nfl players and average nfl starters is a big gap in terms of the chess game and polish. Tyreek hill was a 5.1. Marvin Harrison jr, the 4th overall pick, was a 6.83. Qb Bryce young, the first overall pick, was a 6.82. At the back end of the 3rd round they are drafting guys who are high 5 range. Dalton schoen was a 5.19. Chris smith was a 5.95. These were their flaws. Weaknesses Room for improvement with release against press. Allowed grabby coverage too much leeway in disrupting his routes. Needs better route efficiency without as much stutter-stepping. Might not have enough blow-by speed to consistently outrun NFL corners. Had uncharacteristic drops in 2023 Weaknesses Weighed in at 204 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine; since 2003, no QB who weighed fewer than 207 pounds at the combine has been drafted in Round 1. Durability will be a concern due to slight frame. Has a tendency to run receivers up against the boundary. Leaves his lower half behind on drive throws at times. Needs to prove he can find reads quickly and stay on schedule. Deep throws come out flat and lose energy late. Doesn’t run as often as he could to counter the rush and pick up first downs.

Kenny had the mental aspect of his suspension, and all the legalities and costs related of his DUI to work through, then a couple longer term injuries including broken bones. I get he is a pro, but that's a lot to go through.....He is looking like he is finally starting to get comfortable, it would not be fair to expect him to look like he did right off the hop....
  12. I knew he should never be allowed to pass. See what happens?!?
  13. 3 points
Yeah whoever we bring in is gonna be on the field in the worst case scenario and that's if ZC goes out with a season ender
  14. I think Wilson will be the short yardage guy, and hopefully Jake and Bryan never have to see the field but atleast they’re guys who have been around for awhile and can hopefully run an offence.
  15. Cornelius severely ruptured his spleen in his last game played against the Argos, he never came back after that injury, maybe it spurred him to move on from football. Too bad he had the Dru Brown connection from OSU and actually beat him out for the starting job.
  16. 3 points
We’d have beaten Toronto in the cup if MBT didn’t get hurt so not overly concerned there.
  17. Cornelius has never played a stretch of games anywhere close to as well as Dolegala did last year with Sask in 9 starts over his parts of 3 seasons as Edmonton's starter. And he had a way better surrounding cast.
  18. If I was him, every minute I had some time to spare. I'd be working on strengthening my hands & speed work. Like boxing or MMA. Stuff you can do on your own.
  19. Steroids, hope he’s not juiced to the gills.
  20. Basically had no ability to execute in intermediate passing game which is the lifeblood of a pro offense.

When I was re-watching the game the other night, they had a stat showing that Zach has yet to throw an INT during a Banjo Bowl. I think he was 11 TD's & 0 INT's going into the game. Given his TD/INT ration this year, I'm very happy that he was able to keep his Banjo Bowl streak alive!

  28. Banjo Bowl Breakdown....
  29. I’d rather over pay dl than most positions. Especially a 2gap player. Run fits are soo much tighter in the cfl than down south. qft, nothing is more worrisome as a bomber fan then a qb coming off the bench. We’ve been torched sooooo many times by back ups over the years. I would actually love to see the chess match of our secondary vs mbt as the starter.

Watching that makes me sad that we haven't found/brought in another pass rusher to make it really go. That's when you just become lethal at turning the ball over...like we were from 2016-2022

  32. 71 yard field goal. Great work Sergio. Don’t recognize where he is practicing. I’ll guess using the few clues from the video, he is kicking at Buffalo Stadium at West Texas A&M University. He evidently played there in a town called Canyon TX just south of Amarillo (Helium capital of the world). It is not possible to produce helium artificially.

  36. Buck Pierce upon hearing that flashbackdog.meme (imbedding images here never works for me) Me either. I mean, I loved the guys heart and toughness. But as a passer? ick.
  37. No thanks. We don't need another qb who will hold on to the ball to long looking for deep shots (I was never a huge buck the player fan).

Yeah I'm annoyed that I had to watch enhanced TSN because the normal TSN channels didn't have it because CTV was broadcasting. How efing annoying to watch circles and names around each player while watching the game.

ok, I liked the previous video, but I really enjoyed this one. If you're curious about how the bomber D dominates, you gotta watch this. Lapo shows what match coverage is and how the Bombers used it to create coverage sacks, low-percentage throws, and turnovers against the Lions. The split-second pattern recognition these guys do is astonishing. You've gotta be smart to play DB in this system. I remember Kramdi getting praise for his football IQ and I can see why that's important now. Once again the all-24 view is so great. All we can see on TV is the pass rush while there's a whole ballet happening in the secondary.

this is my favorite lapo video yet, where he isolates the mistakes that are playkillers. the margin for error on these things is so small. Godber doesn't get the right block, the back is bubbled outside and strung out and it's an easy tackle. Harris doesn't read a DB's body posture correctly and throws a low percentage pass that turns into a pick. the rock and roll play was super interesting. the Argos D rolls coverage to handle some horizontal motion in the Rider backfield, but KeeSean Johnson doesn't pick out the right guy to block, and a huge play is aborted.
