I'm sure 99% of the Americans who come up to play feel the same way. What football player growing up in the States wouldn't want to play in the NFL making ten times as much money? I don't understand why people hate on Rourke wanting to play in the NFL?

White never caught the ball so the ruling was wrong... it's either incomplete or, the correct call, an INT. There was no simultaneous catch or any of that nonsense. White missed the catch and Alexander had possession.

White never clearly has possession of the ball thus its not a catch which was the ruling on the field. When reviewed this is clear. When reviewed it appears he never has control and Alexander ends up with it and it never hits the ground. Clear interception. Ref screwed up on the field and CC messed it up again which is common and a real issue.

Yeah, you may have a point… Except that they didn’t rule an incomplete pass on the original on field call. They ruled a complete pass. It definitely was not that. As you say, it slipped through the receiver’s hands. That much is clear in the video. As such, it was either an interception or an incomplete pass. So, if the bombers challenged the ruling of down by contact, I think the video review conclusively showed that the receiver never had possession of the ball. Hence the call on the field should’ve been overturned. Unless I am missing something? Which, unfortunately, does happen from time to time. 🙂

That's BS. On the play you mentioned it was obvious it wasn't a catch. CC messed up as they have numerous times this year.

In this case I don’t blame the field judge. It was a very quick bang bang play. But as I’ve said this is exactly why they introduced a coaching challenge into the game. But there is obviously something very amiss with what is happening in the Command Control which is baffling cuz it ain’t that complicated most times. Technology if used appropriately is a good thing.

Yeah, I don’t see how that can be ruled a completion. Receiver never, and I mean never, had possession of the ball and it ends up on BA’s chest. If it doesn’t touch the ground, it’s a pick, if you think it does, it’s incomplete. In no way is it a Hamilton reception.

How not? The Hamilton receiver never had possession of that ball... and since it didn't hit the turf the only possible explanation is that Alexander caught the ball therefor an interception.

Yeah no one blames Rourke for wanting to go to the NFL, it's the attitude where the CFL was an unforseen detour that rubs people the wrong way. A lot of guys may think it... but very few say it, especially when the national media is hell bent on shoving that person down our collective throats as the greatest canadian ever!

I can't believe anybody would disagree that having Brown would have been better. Let's just pretend we can do the hindsight thing, even though a number of posters including myself begged bomber management to make a different decision than the offseason. Brown is playing at least as good as Zach and he's much younger. How hard is it in this league to develop a quarterback? We did it and then we shipped em off. It's so hard to fathom that it hurts my gut.

I don't hate Rourkei. I hate the media bullshit we have to listen to from guys like Suitor, Naylor & Lalji. Lalji called him a Top 20 qb in North America a week or so ago. Hardly. As viewers, we're force fed this stuff on TSN constantly like we're all supposed to be impressed. So then, because of the hype, fans of other CFL teams enjoy it when he fails. Am I cheering for Rourke simply because he's Canadian? No, why would I? Canadian or not, he's a BC Lion. I want him to fall flat on his face.

NFL is the creme de la creme when it comes to all football. Your career could be very short in the CFL, no blame on him wanting to see where he stood when it came to the game. He probably made some ok money bouncing around, he realized he was going nowhere down south and thus, took 600k a year and playing with his home town team.

There must be a TON of talent sitting on NFL practice rosters. The product is suffering.

No joke. 5 games league wide with a score 40 points or higher. 0 50+ scores. Compared to 6 teams winning scoring 20 points or less, in the last 6 weeks alone. 8 games in the last 6 weeks had a combined score under 40 as well.

Hmm I know illegal blocks can be, and when the play is major foul level. We could also petition to the league. Holding, illegal block, no yards, pi, rtp, and spotting the ball are all serious issues in the league right now. The league needs its largest intervention ever in refing.
