Here's what I noted on day 1: Bryant-Dobson-Kolankowski-Eli/Wallace(for Neufeld)-Lofton Lawler-Schoen-Murphy(for Demski)-Alston-Wolitarsky Augustine (for Oliveira) Collaros Jefferson-Thomas-Fox-Haba Wilson-Bighill Parker-Nichols-Nick Hallett (for BA)-Holm-Ford-Kramdi Tyrique McGhee appears right in the mix as well. And it felt like a lot of Lawson with Thomas in the early portion.

Really don’t get the Kramdi hate. He’s solid. Always around the ball. Does his job well. You need the reliable guys just as much as you need the flashy guys, they set the flashy guys up to make those big plays.

One person who is extremely conflicted in this current situation says he was fined but offers no context or substance with it (like "I was fined in 2012 for complaining about the schedule") and there's no record of the fine easily found online. Why are you so far up Barker's butt?
  11. 5 points
I just want to take a moment to recognize that, for the most part, we're doing a really good job of keeping this discussion civil and on point. Thank you all for that.

Give the whole quote: “Pinball, you said yesterday ‘We will give Chad Kelly all the support he needs.’ What are you doing to support your female staff that now have to face coming to work every day with a predator in the building? Have you even spoken to them about your decision to allow this? As I and many female staff members across the league have communicated to Randy Ambrosie, the handling of this extremely serious situation has been a complete and utter failure from top to bottom. You promised to go above and beyond the league recommendations. Yet at the first opportunity to do so, you did the complete opposite. You have only managed to downplay a serious situation and make women across the league feel unvalued, disrespected and unsupported. Do better.” This is directed at Pinball and also .. your privilege is showing just a bit.

I find it very interesting, because lots of people get caught up in our roster management (myself included) but not many people seemed to notice that Kramdi was very much a rotational guy and was subbed out a lot last year. They seem to have a pretty good plan for him and his usage and I’m happy to let them keep rolling with it. He didn’t get handed a job last year, he stole it from a trusted veteran American and he only got better as the year went on.

I wouldn't look too much into the guys who "started" first day of TC. Between injuries and departures it's all about continuity. So they plug in the guys with the most experience while rookies learn. Up to the first pre season game we will see lots of guys cycled through and guys will get a chance to pick it up and play more.

I'm going to say no. He has it in very brief glimpses where he still makes some plays on the ball but he was more of a liability in a lot of games last year than I think we would get from an average player. I was surprised he made it to this camp. I thought he would have been one of the vets they moved on from.
  19. 4 points
Barker needs to read the room. I’m not really sure why this is the hill he wants to plant his flag on? The league was doing everything possible in the hopes this disappeared. Plus, the schedule was probably **** because of his team’s availability, just like always. Get off it, Man.
  20. 4 points
It's just what they declare for flexibility purposes. All they have to designate for the roster are the Designated Americans, the QB's and how many Canadians on each side of the ball. They don't have to say who their starting Canadians are, they are just bound to always hit that minimum of guys on the field. Say 6 on offense, so every offensive snap you need 6 Canadians on the field. The Canadian guys would play most reps and you'd effectively have an American who can sub for anyone. Last year and 2022 in a few games they used McCrae like that. Some games they went 6 and 1 using Darby or Parker like that. A DI who is unrestricted for subs because he's essentially a "starter." Say Ford wins the field corner spot...I'm not sure why they wouldn't go 5 and 2 for flexibility considering they have Kramdi, Lawson, Thomas, Gauthier, Karamoko (who can sub for a Canadian).

cant see that happening....as we would be weak as hell....I would assume Lawson will be the main guy...or better be.....that posting of Thomas yesterday with the assumed for now #1's is enough to make a fan vomit...and hints of the same ol same ol Depending where we decide to use the Canadian on defence, and I hope we only declare 1 spot...we may not evebn have to have a National actually starting on the dline....but a solid rotation of Lawson in the middle would be a very good interior

You can't figure out how equity comes into play when a woman in a male dominated league is sexually harassed and then other women who work in the league speak out against how the team and league handled the situation? In what universe should people speaking out against sexual harassment and league's response be treated equally to a coach speaking out against how much the like their team's schedule? Are you that obtuse?

  31. There's no defending or deflecting from the Argo coverup either. It's pretty transparent what Barker's tactic is. The guy is involved personally.

Kramdi is not anywhere near the worst problem on the roster. Sure maybe they could get someone better there... but he wasn't a liability.
  36. 3 points
The subject of the quote is Pinball (you). The part referencing Ambrosie is a tangent. If she were referring to Ambrosie and that discussion, she would have said "He promised ..." As for your privilege, it's apparent by your "special interests" comments that you've led a very charmed life and I'll leave it at that.

Barker was sued in the past by a female atheletic therapist so he might just be bitter about his experience in a similar situation. It's laughable that he trotted out the fact that the Argos apparently did their own investigation and found nothing wrong. The leaked report showed differently - Barker has zero credibility on this issue.
  38. 3 points
Barker is an idiot trotting out a false equivalency from 15 years ago. Nobody is criticizing the league. They are criticizing the Argos and idiots like Pinball and Barker. Barker is taking is personally because he brought Kelly to the league and is all in.

Hahaha honestly, with the way we’ve used that spot I’m definitely willing to give Cole a look and see if he pops off the page but Kramdi is nowhere near the biggest problem we have at LB. I’m also pretty confident he’s only going to continue to get better. He did well for what was essentially a very raw player, not coming in with the NCAA pedigree or history and I there’s still a lot left to develop there in my opinion That being said, I wouldn’t be upset with three new LB starters when week 1 hits
  40. 3 points
Yeah they really should be using Bighill or Jefferson in that Designated Nationalized American role. Then you could effectively rotate with either another American LB or Rush end. With our current roster composition Jefferson probably makes the most sense. But if one of the American WIL/MAC types jumps of the page it makes sense for Bighill too. Secondary a little trickier since they don't really sub much among the main 5. But again it depends on who the DI's they want are. If it's a DB then pop Alexander into that DNA spot. I'm not sure he's keeping the bulk from what I've heard. Think he had a number and if no one was willing he's happy to be done.
  41. 3 points
Wow a guy with a history of disrespect to women has a **** take on respectful work place behavior towards women....color me surprised...
  42. 3 points
Pretty thin though if you lose a receiver, running back or two in game if you declare 6. Couple injuries means you have Augustine or Chris-Ike and Clericius/Murphy on the field every down. I know we're high on the draft picks but they need to get their feet wet. I can't see them going 6 and 1 purely for flexibility for sub packages on both sides of the ball. Canadian OL depth isn't great either. They are one injury away from dressing 3 Americans. They have the guys to play 2 Canadians on the field on D between the DL, Gauthier and DB's. They have at least 5 Canadians who are role players on D plus Karamoko. Would be nice to have a Canadian/Global edge guy though. Then you have Hallett, and special teamers if somehow you end up with 4-5 injuries in game. O just have way fewer backups. See DI's being Castillo, one returner (receiver or RB), one rush end, one DB/LB type.

We don't have the talent or the depth to go with an all NAT interior. There is zero chance of that happening. Maybe the occasional snap here or there to get some guys breathers but right now all we have is rotational NATs. Fatboi can't start he doesn't have the wind, Lawson maybe, but right now those are about the only guys we got capable of taking more than a few reps a game without being a liability.

It's so frustrating how they play to the lowest common denominator. Always beating you over the head instead of letting you figure it out for yourself. I get that's what network TV is but it's increasingly difficult with the advent of quality prestige streaming.
