JC Abbott has never met a Canadian prospect whose farts he didn’t love the smell of
  2. Kyle Walters throwing down and negotiating in the media. Love it. He's not ***** footing around this offseason.
  3. He also confirmed in that article that Stanley Bryant wants to come back.
  4. my guess is Brown goes to Calgary. Maier wont win grey cups. Brown might. and nothing wrong with being a qb for Dave Dickensen. calgary has good receivers. and a ground game. probably the best spot right now career wise.
  5. It has been wonderful to witness our beloved football team emerge from the Canadian Football Hinterland. Savouring their success is akin to the gradual imbibement of single malt. Would that I still had young days ahead of me, and could fully take to the field again.

Ed Hervey says, I'm the only a-hole allowed on this team.
  7. Looks like the 2024 Bombers are gonna look a lot different than the 2023 iteration.
  8. Winnipeg needs to trade Brown's rights if he has no intention of coming back.
  9. He yells "BLITZ" before every defensive play
  10. It's Ottawa with an outside chance at Calgary...

Trevor Harris restructures his contract to stay with the Riders, no details released but this makes one less landing spot for Dru Brown. https://3downnation.com/2024/01/09/qb-trevor-harris-restructures-contract-with-saskatchewan-roughriders/

AND he said personally, that will be the last discussion on this matter period..There's no need to dig into what these two A holes have done in the past and there's especially no need to start digging around in mine....Talk about birds of a feather

    A purge of assholes!
  15. Powell was good enough to beat the Bombers last year. If he was available, they could do a lot worse.

And/or 'The starting role is his to lose' could mean he will lose it if he doesn't shine/out-perform others by a mile in TC.
  17. This makes me sad. Hope he's back one day
  18. Hamilton makes the most sense. Calgary as a dark horse. If he wants any opportunity he could go to Ottawa but I think he would shy away from that **** show. Montreal would improve themselves a ton signing brown but they went all in on faj.

I think this was the thread where Rourke's compensation occasionally came up...? Saw this article... if accurate, it should put to rest any notion that Rourke would have earned more by staying up North: https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/rourke-more-money-nfl-anyone-cfl Former BC Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke made more money playing in the NFL this season than anyone playing in the CFL. Despite not playing a single live regular season snap, Rourke made more than US$500,000 for his efforts this year, per Spotrac. Across the 2023 NFL season, Rourke was paid US$125,001 from the New England Patriots and US$394,667 from the Jacksonville Jaguars. That combines for a total of US$519,668. The highest-paid CFL player at the start of the 2023 season was Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros. He made C$600,000, or roughly US$445,000, last season. Chad Kelly then signed a three-year, C$1.865 million extension with the Toronto Argonauts to become the highest-paid CFL player. That means that Kelly will make about US$465,000 per season at the current exchange rate. Stands to reason that if/when Rourke returns he will set a new high-water mark for QB's in the CFL
  20. This is good work by Osh. Special teams were a problem this year. Hopefully Miller can straighten out coverages better. I appreciate that they had a succession plan in place for Younger. I didn't want to lose him, but I respect the heck out of Richie Hall too. We don't have the Cup rings if his defense doesn't step up. Honestly feel like he was consistently underappreciated. Two new coordinators will definitely bring a different vibe next year even if both were with the team for a while.
  21. I wonder if Miller was basically an assistant ST coach this past season... and maybe O'Shea liked what he saw... The team probably also knew Miller was never going to play last year... just kept him on the payroll as a player/coach
  22. Surprise delight in my newsfeed today! Had to make an offseason visit to this old internet haunt to chat shop. What a pleasant twist to the club's strategy, promoting promising talents from within. I'm eagerly anticipating a similar upbeat vibe in the roster management this offseason, ushering in young blood to revitalize the starting lineup and bid farewell to the old spoiled milk. I'm ready for a wave of youthful energy at IG Field next season!

Yeah I'm not sure I buy the BLM is our starter line. He was healthy for the ESF and they stapled him to the bench until garbage time. That said alot about how they saw him so other than his contract, what has changed? Edmonton said the same thing about Tre Ford but that didn't stop them from signing MBT.

So how long does Bo Levi hang together for Ham in 24'.....Some players just don't get when they should be doing something else...I guess as long as the money is coming in you hang around...Even with the reduction in his salary , Bo is still being over paid.....Sure he has experience but that's all he's bringing to the Cats....Being named the starter???? doesn't make sense....I'm a big fan of Brown AND want him to stay here but man ...IF I'm looking at the future, the Cats have a blind spot when comparing Bo to Dru for their qb.....Am I missing something here..After saying that ,the qb. spots are narrowing daily and could dry up as far as Brown finding a spot to land ... one that would be a fit for him......

I'm not complaining but if I were a Ti-Cats fan I'd be WTF. The dude cannot stay healthy, I'd much rather give Powell the shot and/or bring in Brown.
  26. Hall I hear is working for Booster Juice and Pinacle Staffing solutions and volunteering with the Blue and Gold.
  27. Hall has earned a retirement when ever he wants it. That guy's been coaching for what feels like ever.
  28. I’m guessing some thing like defensive quality control/assistant or he could coach dbs for/with jy. This is a huge win move for us. Hall staying on is fantastic. Big sign that the mafia aren’t going to stand pat again and aren’t happy with another close gc loss. Huge step forward and gives me a lot of hope for this coming season. Good for miller too. Some one called it idr who.
  29. Why would Stanley Bryant have to wait for the dominoes to fall? He negotiates his own contracts and it's not like he's inline for a raise. I guess if Walters wanted to chop his salary too much, he could always make more playing elsewhere.
  30. I suspect a good bit younger. Im not worried about our ability to find and recruit talent. My worry has been our ability to move on from guys, and this off season has shown great improvement in that area. I’m sure it won’t be a 100% ideal off season for any one from the fans to walters, we will go into next tc with questions. But I think we will fill those out. I think the draft is even more critical than the free agency period. We badly need to restock our ni depth.
  31. I thought the TiCats had Powell waiting behind BLM? Why would they be interested in Brown?
  32. 1 point
I heard they fart in his general direction.
  33. The only way I can see this making us better for next year is that Osh is essentially going to take over the ST duties and mentor Mike Miller on the finer aspects of coaching. JY switching roles with Hall is likely not going to make us better. But it will keep us better for the long run.
  34. Which Vets do we cut next season

I’ll be honest here also like ya here comes a giant lie lol but both brown and schoen give me Tom Canada vibes as ppl. Meaning not sure the extra 25 50k makes a difference to them. I think we sign schoen. Brown? I feel it’s up to him. Like we prob know what we’d offer him but will he take the big payday and maybe be out of the league next season or stay here and get more reps in the only cfl system he has ever known Mike at the time, Reilly had a cannon and could take a beating. Dru more Arbuckle in my opinion. A good system QB on the right team. Not a guy like Reilly or Zach who can adapt to whatever system.
  35. Hall is indeed an amazing asset to have around, as long as it isn’t a pure hall d branded as a jy d. But I don’t think that’ll be it. Hall has always been a strong collaborator, as he talks about with buck. He’s also just one of the best people in the league. I hope his health holds up and he can continue to fulfill a support role for a good while longer. I think jy will continue to play a coverage that’s off WRs and emphasizes staying in the back peddle as long as possible before making a break and a play on the ball/wr. I suspect we will see smaller cushions giving guys more of a chance of making a play, and I think we will see less mlb blitzes into a gap, and more “exotic” blitzes designed to get pressure for the guy rushing. I wonder how jy and mos will look at the dl. In the past couple years we’ve seen great success with nose tackles, cheetah fronts, and the 30 front. The dt and de has been really bust with out sayles. Going to be interesting to see. I could see him really opening up things for kyrie too. Where does 8 years as a dc rank for the bombers? I feel like that’s got to be high on the all time list.
  36. I agree AND if Mace would have been successful in signing Buck as the head honcho, we could have easily have said goodbye to Younger....Certainly worked out better for us all around
  37. 1 point
Fewer top-end (proven) receivers mean that Schoen is even more valuable now.
  38. Good to see that we got younger on defense.
  39. I don't think this move happens without Hall being fully on board.... otherwise he probably would've just been let go... I'm excited about these changes... Hopefully Younger can build on what works and add some of his own wrinkles in... Hopefully Miller can bring back or bring in a coverage system that actually works better than what we saw the last couple years
  40. Love those moves. JY gets to ease in to the role they were grooming him for with further mentoring from Hall.
  41. Muggy was 5ft3 and lasted over a decade in the NBA. Incredibly talented
