They finally got the Grey Cup rematch to kick off the season right... that's good to see.

Thursday games before school is out are just about the dumbest scheduling the CFL can do. Thursday games should only be July and August.

I wouldn't even say Fajardo got hot. I'd say the Bombers defensive scheme was completely brutal in terms of blitzing and use of Cover 0/1 looks vs a QB that is so inaccurate. We gave his receivers a chance to make plays.

Say whatever we will about Bishop's deficiencies as a frontline QB, nobody would ever argue that some of his traits (arm strength, physicality, speed) weren't elite. Cody on the other hand, has a smattering of skills and attributes which (imo) are in the D+ to B- range.

But Montreal fans are a close 2nd to rider fans!

call me crazy but I'd keep schoen ahead of lawler. Schoen is just so smooth out there. He gets open for fun. Yes Lawler has more of that big play highlight reel catch ability... but give me the guy like schoen any day (I'd keep both for the record)

Hypothetically, if Brady wants $225,000, are we better signing a guy like Logan from Calgary for $100,000 and bringing in a rookie at $70,000 to pair with him? My initial thought is yes but what do I know. I do wish the CFL published salaries like other major sports.

The last 7 minutes was textbook lockdown by the Jets, save for maybe 20 seconds of 6 on 5 pressure. Huge win. I did not expect much from this team this year, very pleasantly surprised.

Dane Evans has the tools to be a top 5 CFL QB, if he could get over the mental hurdles of crumbling under pressure.

I wouldn't sign Logan, but that's a good example. I want Brady. I know the Bombers do too. And we will sign him for more than he is actually worth to our on-field team value, because we want him so bad. But there's a point where it moves beyond, "not a value contract" to, "this is detrimental to the rest of our team". And Schoen needing an even bigger bump in pay than Brady is a huge shadow on this whole thing. In conclusion, I really hope there is more 2023 cap room available for some 2024 bonuses to slip into. The lack of signings is starting to worry me.

Scored a 10/50. Think he’s in a big tie for like 5th or 6th lowest all time. Tee Martin had an 11. QBs average like 24, Johnny manziel put up 33. To be fair touch and accuracy were not in his game either. Like all tests it’s not by any means the be all and end all. But few QBs have low wonderlics and succeed. Fast decision making is key. Tbh idc in the least what he does now. One day (not when a part of the riders though) raise his number and move on. Though the irony of how much rider fans harped about the ped test with Harris if he goes there that is hilarious.

Bishop could easily throw the length of the field....it's the wonderlic test he had a problem with.....I believe he flunked

MTL played great when needed....we didnt.....and we got out coached....and we also hamstrung ourselves with poor roster moves.....thats why we lost...plain and simple...we will be back, and hopefully now after 2 yrs of failure, and a few common themes that contributed to the losses....our coaching staff has learned and figured out a few of the flaws...if not...I expect the same kind of disappointments even after another good yr

I think it's reasonable to think Brady will beat 170k.

Walters has renegotiated many players salaries before, it’s how we’ve kept the core together for so long. Even if it’s changing some of your base into a bonus to pay it out as 2023 funds. He certainly has never looked bad for this during the many occasions he’s already down this.

I don't think Lawler had a great year this year for whatever reason (there were a few) . He was a top prize in FA for a reason. In Edmonton he was getting open a lot. IMO he can give similar or better production than Schoen of he can get back to form.

Schoen is also my clear 1A to Lawler's 1B. Along with everything you said, Lawler has never been available for a full season. He hit 1000 yards once, along with a handful of 900 seasons. I just can't see the Bombers moving on from Lawler (though I expect Walters to be talking to him right now to see if any arrangements can be made).

His comments make it seem as if he’s going to go to the highest bidder. I’m sure we get the right of first refusal, but at what point does tying money up in the RB position begin to hurt you? I want to say that we should let Schoen walk. That you can’t invest so much into two receivers. But obviously we’re investing so much into Collaros, we need to surround him with weapons.

Faj if you want, but really those are the 5 qbs who took the bulk of the snaps for their teams... if he was healthy Trevor Harris easily outperforms fajardo. So already he's dropping to 5/6. Being a better qb than the likes of Taylor Cornelius doesn't impress overly much.

I love Oliveira but this statement is just patently untrue.

It was mostly a defensive thing and not turning the ball over. The game he had in the Grey Cup was above any game he had during the regular season or in the playoff game. Call it what you want to call it.

If we can only keep one, I'd keep Schoen over Brady O. Some team that is lacking in Cdn talent is likely to pay Brady the big bucks to kill two birds with one signing.
