    This is pretty impressive.
  2. Collaros and Oliviera both surged past Adams in the 2nd half. Adams choked away BC's shot at first place and the Bombers stepped on him and BC on the way to first place.

You're allowed to develop emotional connections to something bigger than you.... and you're allowed to mourn any way you choose, when something you're emotionally attached to disappears. I was crushed when Paul Walker and Heath Ledger passed... and yeah, Farley man...... **** that is brutal. Candy, too.

We can't afford to pay both Schoen and Lawler top dollars. I'd take Schoen over Lawler.

I wanted nothing more than for Liegghio to figure it out and become that 20-year veteran NI kicker that stays with us forever.... but man oh man, am I ever thankful for Serge and what he's been able to do this year. That game in Calgary proved that he's ready to to be clutch in the crazy Canadian early-winter playoffs...

HE ****** BETTER BE! If we bring him back I have no faith at all in the scouting and HC....

You can make any contract fit if you want to, the question becomes does it make the team better. Having 600k tied to 2 receivers will limit the team in other areas. Even if you manage to sneak some of the cap hit into the 2023 year. I'm sure they have a few different scenarios plotted out. It's a matter of deciding which one results in the best team overall.

If Rourke had stayed healthy, he was on pace for about 6000 yards and 50 tds. Hype was at least justified.

Good thing Dinwiddie did not let Kelly show his true greatness, we may have all been blinded.

Stuff like this from Farhan should cause him to lose his voting privileges.

Yeah agreed. The Canadian cupboard isn’t as stocked as it was 4-5 years ago. Can’t afford to draft fringe ST guys from low level USports programs anymore.

In all honesty/reality...we don't know what we can afford or are willing to pay, and also don't know who the team has already decided thatthey will be moving on from....Also a player like Stan if he had a pretty good feeling that he was done after this yr has likely told the team...so they can allocate his potential salary gain elsewhere already, and know what they may need to use out of 2023 6game savings for re-upping for 2024 to ease the 2024 SMS ...lots in play, and we will be able to keep whom/what we want...And you can bet Schoen and Lawler will both be back next yr...Bailey too...Especially if we win this yr.....if we don't he may move on

I'd take dru and strev over just Zach cuz no way we can afford Zach plus brown or strev but we probably could make brown and strev work cap wise but I'm a cold hearted prick who only cares about winning and the future and not the past especially In sports. Eventually u gonna have to transition to a younger core group... as a cold hearted prick, I think this off season might be time. We hosting 2025. Some of our guys don't got 2 seasons in them still.
  21. 3 points
I think our team will be better off if we don't sell Schoen at the Bomber Store 😂
  22. 3 points
Lawler is great but Bailey inspires greatness in others. We can likely afford Bailey and Schoen, I don’t know how we afford a Lawler and Schoen. Schoen is the future, we need to retail him.
  23. 3 points
No way would I take Bailey over Lawler. 9 CFL teams would agree.

Bauming does not work for the Bombers. There was no social media when Madani worked for the Bombers. Madani was the PR/Communications guy for a brief stint which is now handled (among MANY other roles) by Darren Cameron.

In my mind, Lawler is nice to have, Bailey is a must have. If we can only have one I would chose Bailey.

All the rule has to be is that the recovered kick is like any play from scrimmage....so you need to gain the yardage for a first down. Pull the play on 2nd and 10, gain 2 yards, then it's 3rd and 8 for example.

Since I'm on a rant about MOP posers...cause that's what they are..how does a QB with 23 TD passes become a serious contender for MOP? Brown had 9 in 2 and half games. 30 is the bare minimum imo or else voters should be looking elsewhere because 23 screams game manager only. Also since Labor Day..7TD passes vs 5 INTs. Not MOP numbers when the season got real. Consistency all season long has to be a consideration with a slight bias to performance after Labor Day when you are facing the stiffest competition. In that regard both Kelly and Betts can hardly be considered outstanding. Maybe MPP..most pedestrian.
  30. Guy plays every damn down on offense too. Which is unusual for a running back in this era (like the past 30 years). Excellent in pass protection which is huge on top of being the most productive offensive player in the league when he has the ball. The guy is involved in every play. It's not like he's a wideout that is just having a jog when the route is on the other side of the field. Betts plays 2/3 of BC's defensive snaps.

But won't because the CFL is completely beholden to TSN, even while it's broadcasters were saying that the CFL couldn't survive without the XFL.

those other 2 just had to manage the game...which both can...and they would have got the wns T.O's avg start position for the most part was a 1st down away from points....and I have never seen a team have so many busts against them..especially early in the yr where the WR were wide effin open....for huge gain after huge gain.....It wasn't the QB throwing them open into tight windows by any stretch of the imagination...He wasn't outstanding more than he was basically the ultimate game manager They took advantage of an early schedule heavy with Ham...Mtl...Ott...CGY and Sask when 4 of those teams were completely clueless to start the yr...Sask got clueless as the season dragged on....and play a game..get a bye..play 2 games...get a bye....which was a nice perk too...and look at their travel.....for most part they could piss on the away stadiums from their BMO dressing rooms....Played in EDM and CGY early on...big whippity do....furthest they went after that was here in week 17...and Sask in week 20 Now if that isnt the easiest most pleasant schedule...ever...I dont know what is

Was he a difference maker? The Argos won the Grey Cup last season and Bethel-Thompson threw for 4731 yards.
  38. 2 points
thing is tho...Put ZC....The Vaj, Dru Brown....heck even Maier in that spot, and the Argo's record is exactly the same...he wasn't a difference maker by any means The fact he hasnt really even played full games much of the last bit and they still kept trucking ...right there tells you it's not a team he put on his back and willed them to win
  39. 2 points
Lawler is also signed thru to next yr....I wouldn't be surprised to see his deal re-worked and he gets a big pile of it this yr from some of the money 6 gamed, and he plays on a base next yr which isn't a big hit.... We will be shedding vet salaries in Thomas..Briggs..Miller..Darby...Lawrence..off the top of my head, and also have some hold-over money from this yr not used/6gamed that will help.....sure some of those guys don't make huge dollars, but replacing them will still be a savings, and also the cap does go up a wee bit..it increased 160k this yr, which probably a lot of people didn't factor into re-up money for this yr...I believe goes up 75k next yr So covers an entry level contract above what we had to pay for the same amount of guys this yr, and I do know the following 3 yrs have a 100k increase in each of those yrs....so the money allotment isnt as dire as you may think for retaining guys or attracting a FA big fish

I'm assuming most people do this because it's part of their childhood growing up and what helped shaped them even in the smallest of ways into who they are today? Damn it's been 25 years and I still get sad thinking about Chris Farley and wish that he was still alive.
  43. 2 points
Bailey does so much more than Lawler tho. Kenny also hasn't made us that much better... I'd take Schoen and Bailey over Lawler and Bailey. But really it's schoen Bailey demski woli plus rookie or bolo plus Brady. I mean do we really need Lawler?
  44. 2 points
He has worse numbers than collaros and barely played the last 4 weeks.
  45. 2 points
Quite right. Sorry, got my Darren’s mixed up.
  46. Lots of people build narratives but don't actually understand the game. A lot of these vet QB's people have name recognition for are beyond done, but they don't get it. Like viewing football through the lens of a wrestling (not the real kind) fan. All they need to do with these kicks is keep continuity of downs, adjust the rule wording so that still applies. So if it's 2nd and 20, you pull that kick and recovery off but you need to gain the 20 yards for a 1st down. You can't just fall on it on the other side of the LOS for a 1 yard gain and get first down.

  48. 2 points
Bailey is a true legit Bomber...a lot of what they are as a team stems from him and how he worked his butt off in 2019 to get on active roster
  49. Yeah seems to be a cyclical thing...are we in the early stages of say 10 yrs from now guys like Brown...Powell....Forde...Dukes and some other random guy became really good successful QB's..I think that Kid in Ottawa who blew his knee out had some real potential...reminded me of early stages Damon Allen
  50. I think Ottawa, Saskatchewan, Edmonton, Montreal and Hamilton all make offers to Brown.
