  1. My reasons are the media likes to hype Toronto teams and general media stupidity.
  2. I think you are being very hopeful. I'm not really sure who a "proven veteran" is around right now. They've had Arbuckle. Brown is a veteran in this league right now. Yeah you could frame it as being a part of the best offense. But we've seen a lot of different guys run this offense even back to Nichols. McGuire gets in after two years and can't get more than a couple first downs in more than a half. To me Brown is in the top 2 QB's we've had since Lapo came back...and yeah I'm including Nichols. Streveler is kind of a different conversation because he can run a lot of gadget stuff as a role player, probably isn't a guy who will throw 450 passes in a good offense. Brown will be in the top half of starting QB's in this league next season. 54-76 696 yards 4 TD 2 INT 89-136 1206 yards 12 TD 2 INT Guess which one is Dru Brown and which one is Mike Reilly coming into their free agency off rookie deal... Great analysis. I'm sure if the Bombers cut Collaros there'd be a lot of hesitation around him too since the other players here have been so great.

I 100% feel that way, there’s not a head coach in the league I would trade him for. Doesn’t mean I agree with some of what he does, especially when it comes to roster decisions or in-game decisions.

If Brady wasn't rolling the Bombers offense was sunk. Guy is the heartbeat of the Bombers offense this year.
  5. he's a decent pass rusher now, but it's basically just all a speed rush technique.....he was next to non existent prior to this year, and tailed off a bit once teams figured out his schtick and just adjusted to force him out wide and deep......is good in backside pursuit after yards are gained by a RB , but thats also do to his lack of recognizing or respecting run as well....which doesn't make him a great well rounded d lineman in my opinion...Where as you have a guy like Jeffcoat who will use speed/technique...But also just bully his way and over power guys to collapse a pocket....and WJ who uses a combo of everything, as well as leads league...again in knockdowns....Betts gets/got a lot of props and love like most of the lions did early in the year before they...mainly the defence got exposed to what it was...and teams adapted and abused them...especially in the run game kinda hit on that in previous post while u were typing this....But when healthy...Jeffcoat is best D-lineman ....all around D-lineman in the league...hands down..Technique...Power...Containment...killer against the run....just the best

    I had a chuckle....
  7. this really comes down to a lot of people with votes who don't really understand what they're voting for.... and there is going to be a league-wide desire to jerk off the Argos for their nearly-undefeated season. Simply put, as the "most important player" on this Argos team, Kelly will get the MOP votes. Not for anything he did, really, but for what the Argos did as a team and his role within that team.

Oh please Oh please oh please
  9. Not sure why everyone is so quick to give Kelly MOP. His stats are beyond pedestrian. 3rd in passing TD’s, 4th in passing yards, tied for 4th in completion percentage. Brady is having the 2nd best rushing season by a Canadian in CFL HISTORY. He’s going to break 1500 yards. No one has done that(American or Canadian) in 10 freaking years.
  10. I wish the WF was at 3. Don't care about the Jets game.
  11. When looking at BO's body of work, you can't underestimate his importance as a blocker.
  12. I like this roster, love seeing all the young guys get a shot. Hope Brady and Grant are pulled early. Well done, MOS.

It would be just another reason to dislike Sask(not that I actually need one mind you). Always hated Burris.
  14. been wanting to see Garbutt since he got here....I think you all will like what you see. I see more upside in him than Haba, and if both could be in lineup with the Jeff's...Damn Watched 4 practices of his....very explosive first move off the snap, and real good hands to shed the tackles...And with this yard off the ball here, he may be a real terror if he is consistently getting early separation off the snap...
  15. The only issue I have with Betts season is that even though he led the league in sacks he was also the player that teams ran straight at for big yardage. Both of our victories over BC were in large part because it was him vs. BO mano y mano and BO won that battle decisively. We ran straight at him and he was garbage vs the run, and every other team clued in on that too and it hurt the Lions down the stretch. However, his sack numbers are impressive and that merits him consideration for MODP and MOC. I just think his weakness vs the run should make BO the winner of MOC.

Everyone said all of this. But next time there’s a roster decision that someone disagrees with, it starts all over again.

They are playing with house money. Anything they do is a win for them at this point. That's dangerous.

Consolidate The Hate.... They are an assholes match made in heaven!!
  19. and I was thinking "What is O'Shea doing, shouldn't we be resting Jackson for playoffs?"
  20. 3 points
Betts is one trick pony...and easy to neutralize....and then he pouts, and is right out of the game mentally...Both our ends offr so much more Interesting enough WJ had his second highest sack total with us this yr....and again multiple FF's with all the batted down passes
  21. Should be good. Wade will have the Jets game on big screens in the tailgate area I'm sure (and on the jumbo tron inside as well)... Gonna be a great day!
  22. Not repeating. Just adding. Jets change star time before West Final.
  23. Nor can you overlook the fact that we have pretty much put many games on his back, he wasn't racking up stats in garbage time. We dared teams to stop him and they couldn't. He didn't have 5 or 6 big games against wimpy teams to pad his stats, he ran over everyone.
  24. should be 4 thats crazy talk...we don't take advantage of helpful rules here!!! hahah

agreed... I'm tired of the talk surrounding it. But.... as JCon pointed out........ the reason the discussion is happening is because of the Jets own marketing during STH renewal time. Putting that video clip in there of the Save Our Jets stuff.... thinly veiled threat from the team....... that's what led to all this.

Tired of seeing this. Arizona draws under 5k. SJ under 10k. Enough already
  27. What records did he break...As far as I know it's just sacks by a Canadian...Maybe if sacks ever it could hold more weight, but he has also gone stretches where you didn't even know he was playing. BO much the opposite...you know he's there every game...Will be the second highest rushing total by a Canadian in a season...Has the most 100 yards game in a season by a Canadian...ever...Has a Canadian ever Eclipsed 2000yards from scrimmage before?...that I not sure about but is significant none the less, also has 13 TD's on offence...I believe thats the most this year...definitely a significant accomplishment compared to Bett's one real significant number.....I can't see BO not getting at least 1 award league wide
  28. That's only the pick of the Wpg. selection committee, 4 other selection committees in the West.

I wont label him as anything until he plays all the teams and into his second year there, and is a known entity....and isnt benefiting from a roster where peanuts are being paid in a few key places...then we will see the real deal
  30. 3 points
Can’t blame him; but also can’t label him “outstanding” if he was never in the position to show it.
  31. more or less...too bad takes a nothing game to finally get some guys a shot, but is what it is this yr Would have liked to see Lawrence on as well, and who is the 4th DA?...not shown unless my eyes playing tricks on me. Hopefully we get majority of Oline with Dobson and Eli running the show....the listed starters may just be that and not see much actual playtime....but I do like the over all look of who we have on and excited to see what a few of these guys can do
  32. The Jeff's, Walker Jr., Wilson , Biggie, Kramdi, Rose and BA all out on D, Richmond in at left tackle, pretty sure Eli and Dobson get in early and Alston at SB.
  33. I’m sure they’ll get lots of reps.
  34. If the 3 of you could have said that a month ago, we'd all have been better off.
  35. Love to see some young'ns getting a shot. Would have liked to see Dobson and Eli listed as starters with the vets on standby if anyone faltered... they'll at least get the second half I hope...? I would expect Auggie to take over at RB fairly early. Personally I'd be protecting Grant but whatever, can't rest everybody.

they actually concern me more than BC does I wouldn't be shocked either to see Ham bounce T.O....

I am actually really stoked to see the WSF.... that might be a really good game.
  38. 2 points
I can agree with that. I actually agree with this as well. Meh....Kelly is a game manager.
  39. 2 points
Well we can agree to disagree on Kelly’s outstandingness. Not the go up point of this discussion. but for the purpose of the MOP award, a player needs to be excellent and needs the opportunities to demonstrate it. It’s like the cornerback argument: the best CB’s don’t accumulate stats because they’re never targeted. Meanwhile, the “lesser” CBs win award for leading the league in INTs, when they’re the most targeted CBs. In this particular season, Kelly did what he needed to do to keep his team moving; but due to the strength of the rest of his roster, he was rarely put into the position of needing to throw for 4+ TDs to steal a game. Brady was consistently leaned on all year long in both the running and receiving game and saved the day more than once. (I realize you agree; I’m just pontificating).
  40. didnt even notice they finally gave McGhee a shot...Likely its him based on the configuration
  41. I’m betting they take over after a quarter. They might just want to give brown more of a shot with the ol for a bit. generally pretty happy with the roster for the season finale. Get Brady out quick and stay healthy.
  42. Lol at the one obvious non change tho but I've learned to appreciate Jackson but really dig the roster this week. Gives guys a chance. Nice to see
  43. I have this weird feeling we will be seeing Calgary on the 11th.
  44. As far as QB Brown goes, sure he plays with an excellent line up. He performs which does show his potential. He’s not a dolt on a very good squad that would still be a dolt on a shitty team. His performance proves he could be an important piece for some other squad.

Non story. "Reporter" to Henry Burris via social media: Mister Burris Sir, wouldntcha just lurve to come back to Saskatchewan?!? Burris: Yeah... That'd be uh, good.
  46. By god I hope you guys are wrong. That would be a travesty. His stats are garbage.

I get it too but I guess someone like Harris who is in his mid 30's needs that hatred to motivate him. It's sad that he wasn't grateful the Argos gave him a chance instead of directing all this misguided anger at us. He also should have realized that the coaches knew that for Brady to develop that he had to leave or take a big step back as a Running Back for which he has had to do in Toronto. At the same time, the Bombers may have given Harris a decent contract if he had run a few tests & committed to coming to camp in shape which he refused to do. So, if he wanted to stay then he was the author of his own misfortune.
