We need a separate thread for complaining about roster management rather than it being the same thing every week for this 9-2 team with the best offence and defence in the league.

we lie to say how clueless Dicklesson is in Regina...and rightfully so, but at least he has the sense to have 8 rotational lineman...pretty much like most teams do, and uses the Nationalized American on both sides of the ball....Leaps and bounds ahead of what we do in that regard Good thing their oline is crap...QB's are blehh....secondary is suspect and their receiving corp really scars nobody....no reason we should lose this game....and a win by less than 10 would be shocking...and in a not good way

well...thats a start....hopefully Parker gets looks at PR even tho Mcrae listed...maybe a smoke screen by Osh? Too bad Burtenshaw is only real depth piece that we could use in place of Gauthier...sad we have to replace an impact guy, and one who takes reps on defence with a guy who can't, and will only play ST reps, cause we have a sad PR And when losing a defensive piece...to not replace Jackson with say Garbutt....Fox....Or even Clements or Haba..(.who both could have played and from what I have seen in practice last several weeks could easily have rostered....are more than ready to take live reps) seems like logical move...but.....logic here seems to be amiss

Difference is BLM can't throw a ball anymore...not like he could anyways. Ray and Calvillo were beaten and bruised and in bad offensives. BLM has a broken arm. I dont think Harris comes back either....maybe as a back up but that'll be all.

Yep. Have Parker start at Sam and return. That’s means gmc can come off for haba next week. Take Jackson off for fox. swap maruo for Hansen. Bennett off for an ni like miller when healthy, till then maybe Murphy, or gauthier back in. Or maybe we get really lucky and ford comes back and he is the extra ni. Then on dl we rotate Jackson Willy Habba hansen fox walker Thomas and Lawson. Good luck playing that front when some one fresh is hitting you every snap and we put out 4 guys who can pin their ears back and get to the qb. Our dl gets much better and deeper, our secondary does too, our depth across the board goes up and we don’t lose much of value. An imp fb for an ni, lose a gimmick touch guy we seldom use when we can put those touches in the hands of Demski Bailey etc.

which makes our roster config even more madening....as looking around I cant see where either of them would be rostered on any other team, and if they were, would be a case of standing on sidelines all game....as emergency only...for as goos=d as we have been, we could be truly dominant

Actually for the first time in a decade plus last year the nfl saw a significant increase in the use and rostering of FBs. But they actually use them in regular offensive sets not as specialist subs for goal line only. parker in is great news. Hopefully we actually use him.

    Special teams.
  22. Fajardo is likely to lose his job again before the end of this season. They have not been able to score points with him or run the ball because teams don’t respect him as a runner or passer. Evans played and they piled up points. No obligation at all. Do you think a team would rather pay $150,000 to break a contract or keep a useless player around for another $450,000?

I see CGY sticking with Maier to be honest...vause really...who out there available is better?....and he still could have upside....he has shown he can be more than a short passing game manager Powell in Hamilton to me looks like the QB of all the other 2nd and 3rd stringers who actually may have some potential...this next leg of the season will be very telling, but I could see them going with a Shiltz/Powell combo....with Moxely as the short yardage guy Adams I am sure is the defacto BC guy until or if Rourke ever comes back, but that being said....is he going to take the money and go with highest bidder?...I think so, and hey maybe he becomes Zach's replacement if he hangs em up after 2025 Pretty sure the Faj is safe as long as Maas is there, and can see a 1a/1b with him and Evans, so doubt they in the QB market next yr. Also think Edm will do what it takes to make Ford the guy now, especially if he keeps progressing, which I think he should, and they tied into Heavy Balls for guarantied money, and they in no position to eat salaries there, so best guess status quo there too.... The scraps are going to be fought over by Ottawa and Sask....and scraps they are....Harris likely gets a shot in one of those places, and hope it Sask as he is pretty much average at best and won't lead you to the promised lnd, and Fine I don't think has the ability's to be legit, and Dolegala even less...and bet we see an ugly performance by him tomorrow. So does Brown hit a payday?...possibly, but I don't see him being uber successful in either of those places, and I am still not sold on him here either as a legit option long-term if something was to happen...I think he is the benefactor of the system and familiarity he has here for 3 yrs now...and it won't translate elsewhere....and even then something about his pay at times makes me very uneasy.... yeah Bo's throws just hang there and look like soft tosses....there is a reason why he has thrown double digit picks in his last what..18...20 games...he has no steam on any throws now
  24. 2 points
Probably closer to $300-350, I'd think based on how the CFL upped the pay in the off season for wideouts & Canadian OL. Ottawa massively overpaid for Drew Desjarlais as you can see how much it's helped Ottawa score touchdowns & are now the worst team in the CFL. Just a horrible use of financial resources by GM Sean Burke just like his predecessor Marcel Desjardins used to do. A left tackle should be your highest paid OL & not a Guard. But in the CFL, it's not about being the best player like Stanley Bryant. It's all about the ratio & being an overpaid Canadian so it's all political.

Speaking with one restaurant owner... it went from a good way for independent restaurants to promote ... into a very expensive over priced advertisement. It used to be a few hundred dollars and they'd feature your burger and promote it everywhere... into now being something like $1000 to be only mentioned on the list for the site and extra money for them to promote if on their social medias. That is why some places over charge to recoup the expenses.

Maruo is a perfectly cromulent player but Hansen is a difference maker on teams and a valuable rotational piece on the D-line... as soon as Hansen is ready to go, that change is a no-brainer... The one I'm not so sure about it what to do with Clements... when he's back, he likely comes in for Cole... but is that right move?... IMO, I would stick with Cole

Would you rather pay Brown $300,000 next year and he's 27 or Harris $500,000 and he'll be 38? If you're Ottawa, do you bank that Masoli can return, go with Crum, who looks meh or roll the dice on Brown? Same with Hamilton, do you continue to pay BLM for past performance or go with a younger player. Honestly Brown looks better than Powell. Same argument with Monteal. I can see 4 potential landing spots for Brown.

oh geez! say it with me everyone **** CANCER from TMZ: 8:57 AM PT -- Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Jimmy was diagnosed with skin cancer 4 years ago that turned into lymphoma, and we're told that was the cause of death. As one close friend put it, "He lived his life in the sun, literally and figuratively." Jimmy began receiving hospice care last Monday and there was an outpouring of love from friends and family. We're told a week ago Sir Paul McCartney came to Jimmy's house and sang to Jimmy's family.

Depth chart is out. Parker and Burtenshaw in. Gauthier and Darby out. Looks like Kramdi is still listed as the starting SAM and McRae as the punt returner. But Parker over Darby is a start. With Burtenshaw in though it's another sad week of two fullbacks instead of bringing in a DL over Jackson.

All this talk, it's the Chad Kelly vs. The Virgin collaros meme. ******* Argo fans. Can not wait for the 29th.
  45. 1 point
Idk. In a bizarre way, the Argonauts have been the beneficiaries of a campaign of utter indifference from MLSE. They've been able to keep the operations group together because the parent company can't be arsed to look into the day to day or strategic planning of the football team they own... And having been left to their devices, the Argos have basically gone ahead and filled the teams pipeline with elite talent and prospects. Under normal circumstances I'd question whether anyone at MLSE was even aware of the 1.8M commitment they've just made to a CFL player... But even they must've seen it on the news the last 24 hours. It has actually been the lead sports story for an entire news cycle here.

I think Cole stays as he is, as he is a bit of a different player than Clements, and has been used differently in the defense.....Wilson is effectively replacing Clements who was just keeping his seat warm anyway, but is a nice depth piece to have now in case of injury to any of our starters Hansen for Mauro is a no-brainer, as they are trying to use Mauro as they did Hansen somewhat, but Hansen offers so much more off the edge, and they have used him in the inside as well with varying fronts....Mauro's other roles on defense can easily be absorbed by Cole...who is better at it anyway, and again Mauro makes for nice depth in case of injury. The big question I want to see answered, or addressed is when Haba is ready, which should be for BB....Will we put him back in place of the guy who replaced him on roster...Jackson....because if he isn't swapped back in thats just a shame, and utterly foolish and flat out dumb. If for anything he was a force when he played, and secondly gives the Jeff's the valuable rest, and limit's wearing them down right to a nub come late season and or the injury risk If we could have a solid rotation of Hansen/Haba with the Jeff's and the Walker/Lawson/Thomas trio in the middle we would so much better. Mix that in with Rose and Wilson looking like 2019-2021 versions of themselves, this defence will be mighty tough
