A few things for me on the offense... There's a 0% chance the Bombers are running any called run plays for Collaros. So why would we ever go empty backfield? Why would we ever go empty backfield with no jet or orbit motion through the backfield or coming behind Collaros? Now all 12 players on the defense KNOW 100% we are passing from the pocket if we are empty with no motion. HUGE advantage for the pass rush we're just handing over. Especially when you're 15-30 minutes in to this game and you realize that the BC DL is killing our tackles with speed rush. Oliviera was gashing them over and over, and then we go empty a bunch. Don't like it. That's a schematic flaw, poor execution by a playcaller. Shouldn't even have empty plays on the call sheet. Now plays where Oliviera motions out to lead block or seal edge for a jet sweep...nice play. Where was Augustine? He needs a role in the offense. He's not an every down player, but he's useful. If they don't think he is, get an American back on and with the new rules we can slip him in almost half the time without subbing out an American. Agudosi can sit. He has exactly one route he can get open on and his hands are suspect. Nice luxury piece, but not bringing anything we're missing and BOLO/Murphy will be fine as our 5th option. We need the help in the backfield. If not RB, we need another American DB, DE, LB on the roster. Where's the option run package? Hallmark of the success of this offense. Streveler, even Prukop, the change of pace set, the stuff where you just get the OL and everyone rolling people over, the stuff the D can't really prep for. Pigrome can be a weapon. I think our D is extremely out of sync, very young, very new to each other and in many cases Canadian football. Lots of work for the coaches there. No depth and that makes it way harder because we have at least a couple guys who are likely not CFL level players out there and maybe more as we get more of a look. Bennett shouldn't be out there, both corners were terrible. Fox and Schmekel aren't getting many reps so we're running the starting DL into the ground which doesn't really fit what has made this overall scheme successful back to when Hall arrived here.

I was not expecting that. We haven't been beat that badly since Collaros took over. Not a lucky win for BC, a dominating win and in all phases of the game. They aren't currently fighting for a playoff spot, they're #1 and they've beaten 3 western teams. Our O line looked like it was a step slow over and over and over. Collaros paid the price. Deep balls meant taking a hit. BC's first TD was enough points to win the game. What was with all the penalties? I thought that the ball touched the ground on BC's big catch at the 2 going into the half, so they got 4 unearned points on that drive. The game reminded me of last year when we went into BC on a short week and took them apart.

Everyone here, myself included assumed the Bombers would easily win the West. As did most fans on every other team. As did the media. And apparently so did the Blue Bomber players. It looked like the idea that they would cruise easily back into the Grey Cup had crept into their mindset. Well they and we just got served a huge slice of humble pie. We've got some stiff competition. There is nothing like a good old ass whooping to open your eyes. They've got some work to do. Let's see how they respond now.

This isn’t directed at you at all and I really hate to see it because we’re all fans here, but I do hope some people treat this as a wake up call that just because we’ve been in the midst of a dynasty run doesn’t mean we don’t have weak points within our team. This kind of game is exactly what a handful of us took a lot of **** for suggesting was on the table for us with the way we ran things this year. Hope the crew in charge takes this as an opportunity to adjust and reflect

I'm sure the reactions to tonight's game will be very rational, well thought out and reasonable.... Relax folks. Seriously. The sun will rise tomorrow and we'll still be hosting the West Final and be in the Grey Cup in November.

Can’t take credit away from bc. On 4 days rest they’ve out physicaled, executed, and been out coached us.

It's a one off. Our guys were not mentally prepared for this game. That much was self evident by the penalties, receivers dropping catchable balls, and overall just lazy effort. This will be a hit to their egos and that's a good thing. Nothing worse than when a team is red hot and starts reading the press clippings. These are the kind of games you get afterwards. BC humbled them, and I am glad they did it. Now they should know that wins aren't just automatic and require total effort all the time.

Just a comment about the age of our roster. I don't have any issue with it as we're coming off a 15-3 season and barely lost the Champeenship. I'd have a different view if we were .500 or worse and didn't make changes. We got whooped and it's better to find bottom now than later. As an old Ukrainian curler once said to me in a similar situation: "The birds aren't singing for me today". The birds will sing again and it won't be the Allouette variety, either.

You're bang on. And hard as it is to admit, it is good for the CFL. You're totally right about the roster issue. Some glaring gaps. Thomas, Schmekel and Walker are not a starting rotational three at DT for a championship level team. I know Osh loves Thomas, but that is an age thing. He shouldn't be playing this much. BC started 9 DL, we started 6, 3 of whom should not be starting. I trust in Walters to upgrade the talent level. It's too bad in season trades don't really happen in the CFL. Maybe trade a receiver (Bailey, Agudosi) for a starting caliber DT?

Was one of those nights where nothing went right for the O: 1. For sure two deep passes that were open, but the pass was just a few yards overthrown 2. VAJ got super lucky and had a fumble bounce right back into his hands 3. I think long term this is actually good to get smacked in the mouth this early in the season. Regroup and move on.

I actually have a lot of thoughts and WTFs about this game (including not one but several of the Schoen targets) but after I outlined a whole post, I realized that the entire team just inexplicably sucked and it's not worth my time to write out. This wasn't a case of "if these few things were just executed properly it would have been way different". We completely didn't show up and BC completely did. Wow, been ages since we looked like the pre-August '16 Bombers and maybe we all have so much PTSD that it hurts way more to watch that. This is purely a case of flush and move on.

well if anything...Us losing was a gift to the league...hopefully will keep some bums in seats in BC without the need for a concert pre-game TSN gets its dream wish and can be all giddy about something and run with their story/narrative... Hopefully Osh and crew seen the underlying issue with depth and roster and actually fix it....and good this happened now as opposed to second half of season where at that point you are stuck with who you took to the dance A loss happens....and every year since 2019 we had a performance like this....where we all throw out the same complaints and world is falling stuff....Next week will show what this team is made of That being said....some issues several of us have brought up with roster management, or lack there of and PR players, and lack of certain types of players, was again brought to the fore front and exposed....this isnt an old aging team issue...as 2 games into a season isn't gonna gas a pro athlete...this is a roster issue and improper allocation of talent, and blind stupidity....yeah I gonna say it in letting certain types of positional talent go in TC and keeping a whack of guys who will never see the field... I'm sure when dust settles...we will be right where we need to be come playoffs....just sucks to watch us sucking so bad when it is avoidable

Honestly I know the D had some issues, but considering how much time the spent on the field it wasn't as bad as all that. The offense on the other hand.... yikes the offensive line.... brutal. When has Stanley Bryant ever been abused like that?

Michael Couture definitely dropped some knowledge. That uniform combination was trash. Never do it again. This blue on blue ****. Fire whoever is ramming this down our throats.

If it had to happen (and a few among you had pointed out that it may have been in the mail), at least it was in week 3, you're 2-1,and this may serve as a reality check and a focus for the players, coaches and management. Bombers may yet be the best team in the West. But that doesn't mean that the other teams should just accept that they'll top the Division and go to the GC again. And the Leos have served notice. The result of August 3's rematch in BC should be instructive. Circle it on your calendar.

First time I've seen a bomber team out played like that in 3 years... I was at the game tonight and kept thinking ok this drive they will get it going. Just wasn't going to happen. We were physically handled tonight. A lot of bruises to wake up with tomorrow for the good guys, to be sure. Usually in games like this one of our phases will give us some moment. Not tonight. Beat in all 3 areas. Hats off to BC. We've got some competition this year in the west. Also good for Vernon adams. He looked good. The league needs good qbing
