The Liberals are starting to fire back about the carbon tax Said in question period today: "Conservatives can either get on board with climate change mitigation measures - or they will stay in opposition." I thought for a second I was reading a post by @Wideleft

Every government either cuts taxes or gives tax credits - they all do it Also, Conservatives and Liberals have both introduced new taxes - they both do it Based on past history and also on rhetoric from certain western provinces - I assume a Conservative government would reduce transfers to the provinces There are not that many other expenses they can cut, that would make that big of a difference I agree strongly with the current government's approach to transfer payments - with Manitoba receiving an additional $1 billion dollars plus each year I can't imagine what our health care would look like - if Trudeau had not increased those transfers again, after Harper cut them

Captaincanuck12 will not return to tonight’s game due to a lower body injury. Sprained ankle due to jumping off and on the bandwagon so much.
  4. Basically how this works is he’s signed with the Rifles and the Bombers are inviting him as a territorial exemption. He can be on the practice roster and keep U Sports eligibility. NCAA is completely different, and he’d likely never qualify to get into a D1 school since he hasn’t attended US high school and is unlikely to perform well on their standardized tests.

As Hartman enjoys his playoff experience with his co-workers getting points here and everywhere, Ehlers continues to sit on the sidelines. Yup, checks out. If Ehlers was Matthews or McDavid that Hartman intentionally hurt with a dangerous hit I'm not sure Hartman would be enjoying his playoff experioence right now. This is a hard one to let go. In this case a hit was him standing like a wall moving forward slowly shoulder out while Ehlers without the puck is going full speed to get back into the play in a very vulnerable position. I don't need to be a hockey expert nor do I have to be a former NHL player/coach to understand what happened here. I hope Ehlers returns tonight and gets some retribution thru the Knights.

The Carbon tax is a dog-whistle issue. It is already in place in California as well as in other locations. It is constantly attacked because it is visible and loudly whined about by the Cons and their lapdogs. It is the future and is an effective way to make people and corporations aware of the impact their choices make on the environment.

Ya Sask is what happens when rural Alberta is a whole province. Manitoba is small enough, and Wpg-centric enough, that Winnipeg can save the province from rural Manitobans that want to go back to 1950s ideals.

Sask. just follows Alberta's lead, Conservatives in MB. would likely do exactly the same if it wasn't so unpalatable to a vast segment of Manitobans.

Interestingly, this candidate had thoughts on MB elex as well...... said that it should be an absolute blowout for the NDP, but they have a nearly un-electable leader, which is going to make it a lot closer than it should be. Said Brian P's insistence on maintaining his Costa Rican residence for nearly half the year would be unthinkable in AB Poli, and that Heather S's inability to communicate has been her downfall. Was laughing about how poor of a public speaker she is....said "say what you want about our current leader (Danielle S) but she's at least a good public speaker"..... On a somewhat side note, a federal politician that I was with at the same event told me that he cancelled his Edmonton CFL tix after more than 20 years because he was so disgusted with the name change to Elks and "caving to this unhinged political correctness"........sigh. #Burta

One of many examples knuckle draggers here and everywhere completely dismiss, wave off, don't care to understand an important issue like this that impacts them directly and their inner circles and launch into their usual tirades fed by PP's trump handbook raging. It's mind numbing and also very very embarrassing and dangerous. Owning libtards on social media and driving around their communities with decals and flags is their priority.

Yah, the Stamps signing a DB that old indicates to me their time in the sun is almost over, it looks like the wheels are starting to wobble with the GM change from Huff to Dickie.

Doesn’t sound like the schooling side will fit with him. I think it’d be great if teams could have junior and even cis kids on a separate roster. Not eligible to play but can practice and sit in on meetings and film study. It’d be a big boost to grass roots development. he certainly seems it. The route running, high pointing and late grabbing really shows a natural competitive intelligence that you can’t teach. 100% good for him. Great guy, but time for us to move on. It’s kind of crazy to see the stamps signing our established guys who we are moving on from especially past their prime guys. Don’t get me wrong I think he can contribute. He’d be great as a sub package guy.

Demski is a key piece in all of this, to me. If the kid was too dumb to make it, I think Demski would have said something. For sure Walters would have checked with him. So hopefully this is all much ado about nothing and the kid turns out to be a superstar and a good person that fits in.

I can't believe that f****** ref didn't call that hooking call and it leads to the goal against the Jets. ******* trash
  27. 1 point
I give you credit. You are here every game, win or lose, and wear your heart on your sleeve. The bad ones disappear when the team is rolling, but any slump and back they come chirping about “blow it up”, “(insert player or coach here) needs to go”, “always knew they were lousy”. They’d almost prefer we lose to trash the team and throw in a few “told you so”’s. You’re either with us or you are against us. At the game. Frustrating as hell the first 2 periods. But the crowd is back in it now. More free hockey!
  28. 1 point
3rd time in 2.0 history the Jets have erased a 3 goal deficit at home. Game 3 vs Nashville in 2018 (down 3-0 after 1, scored 4 straight in the 2nd and won 7-4) and 2021 vs. Edmonton (down 4-1 in the 3rd, won 5-4 in OT). Let’s hope the outcome tonight is similar. Free hockey on tap!

Check the article again. Walters isn't saying anything about his talent being too good to pass on, he's just saying that IF it came down to MOSJ and someone very similar, it'd be hard to overlook the personal connection.
