Orozco sounds like a really good prospect. Was the best kicker in the n arena league by a lot. Supposed to have a big leg and plus accuracy. He finished hot at grambling state and was getting some good nfl hype from his work outs. Seems to have slipped between the cracks. Gonna be a lot of boots in camp thats for sure.

One leader looks out for disadvantaged Canadians and the other looks out for himself. Not surprising. The more Pollievre can dissuade people from legitimate news sources like CBC, the more they rely on uncritically accepting what he says or listening to NP, Rebel, etc. I'm not sure how Canadians don't shake their heads en masse when he claims it is Trudeau's propaganda machine. The Trumpist tactics aren't even being veiled anymore.

I liked PP before he took over the leadership spot honestly, well outside of the fact that he's a career politician which imo shouldn't be allowed. But since taking over the leadership spot he's devolved into essentially a political troll. He doesn't put anything forward. He walks the line when it comes to interacting with some questionable figures. And he blames things on people/systems that any career politician should know aren't responsible (I believe that he does know these things, but chooses language to increase rage against others). Or he says things like "I'm going to run for Prime minister" Which I know looks like it's nitpicky....but I see it as pushing an american style of governance on people who are likely very confused about OUR system. And I can't support anything like that. I've been anti america since clinton. He's also starting to lean in on the drag show stuff, which is just so absurd. And while this isn't completely related to PP alone, it certainly pertains to the people who will be voted in for him to win....but what I'm seeing around that topic (drag queens/trans) is strikingly similar to closeted politicians screaming and yelling about gay marriage all the while having secret same sex relationships. I don't want to say we have a bunch of child molesting politicians...but...if history has taught us anything...

FTFY Says a lot about anyone who'd actually vote for him or his party come election time. And using public polling in a lame attempt to justify such a decision and bolster it with "other Canadians agree with me" proves how uninformed a lot of people in this country are right now. While previously taking a dump on actual protesters who were defending their land rights and the environment. The man's a ghoul.

"Also notable is the dramatic correlation between Conservative support and disinformation, a link that is even stronger among People’s Party supporters. Among the fully informed (i.e., those who score 0 on our disinformation index), Conservative support sits at just 12 per cent. Among the least informed cohort, Conservative support soars to 68 per cent. Likewise, People’s Party support rises from literally 0 per cent to 12 per cent along the disinformation spectrum." https://www.ekospolitics.com/index.php/2023/03/polarized-gridlock/ (continued:) Description of disinformation index: For this research, we tested five separate indicators of disinformation and we have constructed a disinformation index, a 15-point scale that measures how strongly respondents have bought into four pieces of disinformation and how strongly they reject one piece of correct information: Vaccine-related deaths are being concealed from the public; COVID-19 vaccines can cause infertility; COVID-19 vaccines can alter a patient’s DNA; Inflation is much higher in Canada than in the United States; and Climate change is caused by greenhouse gas emissions. The index is constructed as follows: A respondent receives three points for every statement they rate as completely true (or completely false in the case of greenhouse gases causing climate change); A respondent receives two points for every statement they rate as mostly true (or mostly false in the case of greenhouse gases causing climate change); and A respondents receives one point for every statement they skip (in other words, every statement they are unable to correctly categorize as true or false); respondents do not receive a point for skipping the statement on inflation. Methodology: This survey was conducted using EKOS’ unique, hybrid online/telephone research panel, Probit. Our panel offers exhaustive coverage of the Canadian population (i.e., Internet, phone, cell phone), random recruitment (in other words, participants are recruited randomly, they do not opt themselves into our panel), and equal probability sampling. All respondents to our panel are recruited by telephone using random digit dialling and are confirmed by live interviewers. Unlike opt-in online panels, Probit supports margin of error estimates.

As a lifelong Argo supporter, I am conditioned to expect the worst. Usually it doesn't end up that way but it sort of ends up as an ownership and media apathy which borders on malevolence. When you consider how easy it would be for MLSE to cross promote this Club. The oldest professional sports franchise in North America. The 18 time Champions. In its 150th fricking year this year! ...but it's been crickets and vague promises of special events, commemorations and fan bonuses. We'll see where this ends up. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.

Aaaand,,, the police have leapt on the report like tigers.... Oklahoma Sheriff Says Recording Of Officials Discussing Killing Reporters Was Illegal Sheriff Kevin Clardy didn't address the comments about killing journalists and hanging Black people, but calls the situation “complex.” A southeastern Oklahoma sheriff’s office says the recording in which the sheriff and others are reportedly heard discussing killing two journalists was illegal and predicted felony charges will be filed. A statement on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, the first public statement since the comments by Sheriff Kevin Clardy and others were reported by the McCurtain Gazette-News, does not address the recorded comments about killing journalists and hanging Black people, but calls the situation “complex” and one “we regret having to address.”

Playoff hate-o-meter rankings (who my heart is rooting for/against in the 2023 Stanley Cup, #1 being my nirvana and #16 being wrist-slitting territory: 16. Boston - anything and everything about that city’s sports fandom is nauseating, and the national media piles on by making their suffering “special” when they have had more good fortune than any fan base recently. Bonus hate points for Brad Marchand. 15. Toronto - “average” fans have suffered and I could be happy for them if the team broke through, but the media overload and celebrity fans like Steve Dangle acting like their misery makes them special makes them an easy target to root against. Plus it’s always nice to feel superior to someone and revel in their failure. And the talking heads would be so insufferable to listen to if the team ever won. 14. Edmonton - this is largely a jealousy hate ranking because no team should be gifted “the best player the game has seen in a generation” more than once plus the media will whine about how he never gets the calls until he hoists the Cup. Major bonus historical hate points for all the times Gretzky broke the Jets’ hearts. 13. Vegas - really torn on this given how many Manitobans play for them, but they are the ultimate “buy a winner” mercenaries in the NHL, and have a tax and location advantage that will always hinder Winnipeg. Can’t be happy for a team that has never felt the sting of adversity and had to scratch their way to the top. 12. Colorado - they just won 11. NY Rangers - exciting team, but the media hype if they had any success would get intolerable almost immediately 10. New Jersey - meh 9. Carolina - double meh 8. LA - playing the Oilers in round 1 gives me a reason to cheer for them 7. NY Islanders - the forgotten little brother in New York makes them a decent underdog to root for 6. Dallas - good fans and a sneaky great team 5. Tampa Bay - yes they have won tons, but they have won without hotdogging or scandal. But mainly I have a high school buddy who is part of the staff there. 4. Minnesota - it would suck seeing Ryan Reaves win a Cup, and they are a chippy bunch, but these are knowledgeable die hard hockey heartland fans who had their team snatched from them and will never compete with the New Yorks and LAs of the world for star power, and I have always been treated well when visiting Minneapolis by their fans. Winnipeg south. 3. Florida - almost exclusively a Paul Maurice vote here. Only Matt Tkachuk keeps them out of #2. 2. Seattle - ultimate underdogs, they did a less mercenary build than Vegas so they are an inoffensive winner for me. 1. Winnipeg - duh. But I still want to see an upheaval on the team for next year. Even if I was a neutral fan the Jets are an easier team to root for, given the fans’ passion, the reclaiming of a moved franchise, and being constantly overlooked by the media and most NHL players. Underdog stories are popular. Even saw a playoff article today asking “is this the year Toronto or Edmonton breaks the Canadian Cup curse?” Once again Winnipeg is not even an afterthought.

First post in this thread. PP has taken the MAGA script verbatim. He tweets several times a day about how Trudeau has single handedly destroyed the country. This isn't about the issues. If PP and the conservatives really wanted to change anything then we would have heard about it by now. All it looks like to me is "back to the good ol days" mentality. Nothing based on today's reality.
