People of Ohio were willing to overlook his complicity in the sexual assault and rape of students to own libs. So, is it any surprise the Gym Jordan is buying false testimony? There will be no repercussions for him. Just fail up, like the rest of the GOP.

The Manitoba budget is going to be a crazy spending spree to bury the next gov't. They know they're out, which is why they're cutting taxes and increasing spending to high level. The next gov't will have to raise taxes significantly to cover it and still cut the budget so that we don't bankrupt the province. This a common conservative plot - handcuff the next gov't. They don't care about Manitobans, only money and power. Same with UCP. They're spending money, handing it to millionaires and billionaires, without any plan for covering the shortfall when the cost of oil drops.

I think it's highly appropriate that a dumpster company is investing so heavily in the UCP given that it's a nonstop dumpster fire.

He is and he was the hands down modp in the league until he went down last year. But wrong side of 30 coming off an Achilles only played 18 games once in 5 seasons. Only played more than 7 games once. You need depth at every position to account for injuries. More so at lber. Wilson and biggie are bankable as starters but at this point you need to treat them like an ni starter between both. Have a back up that can take their spot ready in order to start them.
  12. If he is passionate about the team, he definitely has the money, and this will be great news for the CFL.

There are efficiencies and overlaps that Quebecor can exploit. It'll still be a money loser, but it can generate revenue across their platforms in different ways. Like a small scale version of Rogers and the Jays.

  19. well I went back a looked and you've covered the two slightly "anti-French" posts in this thread... I'd say that's a long cry from being a massive anti-French/Quebec vibe in the thread... on the other hand, anti-Riders...

  21. Are you taking about Twitter or here? Because there is no anti-French sentiment at all in this thread on MBB, unless I'm completely out to lunch here?
  22. so much anti-French sentiment in this thread.... it's interesting. I understand hate for separation, but is Alberta's current situation any different?? Maybe I've just been living in rural AB for too long (definitely...) but people getting their backs up immediately over anything French related just makes me roll my eyes.

Same thing Stefanson and co. did here with the "Trudeau Bad/Carbon Tax Relief" cheques. Vote buying is a common tactic with shitty governments and money talks to useful idiots upon whom said governments prey to retain power.

they have had a horrible off-season...there was available upgrades at many positi0ns where they have a huge need....and swing and a miss at all of them....and If they consider Harris..Godber..Blake..Michah Johnson...Walker...heck even Weinike as doing admirable work they are delusional....every instance of all those signings is settling....not re-loading....that not to mention every coach basically saying thanks...but no thanks to them...
  32. The sideline explosions will be epic this year as they lose week after week and Dickie looking over his shoulder for a wayward rabbit punch.
  33. Walker was not very good last year he will be worse this year, I'm glad they signed him
  34. 1 point
well, I just kept thinking the league would find a way to **** us over again....as they are wont to do...... As it is, I'm beyond elated. This feels like a goal for me.... a deadline.
  35. Outside of 2016 when Mike Reilly was tossing the ball to Walker he really hasn’t had a good season since. If they wanted a me first “Vet” receiver why not just keep Duke? Head scratcher for sure.

I have a relative that was a prof in Montreal for a long time. Anglophone, but fully bilingual obvs, and he told me about that once. Said the Habs are very much the team for French-Quebec, and the Als are more Anglo-Quebec's team. Obviously that's not 100%, but "for the most part..." kinda thing.
  37. 1 point
He's already got former Carribins head coach running things, so that should be okay. PKP is an alum. But, I don't think that the Als have the same role in Francophone cultural as the Canadiens do.

Well how many times do you hear 'what were they wearing?, why did they even put themselves into that situation?, why didn't they fight back? why did it take so long for them to say something?, I bet you it was consensual, what's a little touching lighten up etc etc etc' Explain it away cause that's who they are. My proof? Cause they keep voting this F face in.

have to say it again...an injury that didnt require surgery to reconstruct...and he wasnt a starter or on active roster often in first yr, and worked into the role in his second....and just turned 30....so in his prime....no worries there....and he was the biggest loss to team last year.....moreso than BA.....
  46. 1 point
Having Kyrie back this year is going to make a massive difference to Biggie and the LBers in general. Wilson is freakishly fast and it really hurt our defensive scheme having him out last year.
  47. 1 point
He has lost a step. I have never seen a player regain that step once it's lost. His numbers will decline yet again. He has stepped out of his brother's asshat shadow. He wants to prove that he can own a professional franchise without being a sideshow that will scare other owners, so that he can point to a strong ownership record to the NHL. That would be my guess. Plus, like it or not he is a businessman and owning a CFL team brings you a bunch of goodwill in the community.
  48. Better a once-separatist (maybe he still is? IDK) billionaire than nobody at all I say. I don't want the Als to fold, but I don't want the other 8 teams to pay for it, there is enough of that going on as it is.
