For Zach Collaros: After realizing your receiving corps this season is going to be Lawler/Schoen/Bailey/Demski/Wolitarsky, how long did it take for your erection to subside?

Anybody have a question they want me to ask on tonight's Bombers Winter Special (7-9 on CJOB)? We've got the following guys lined up: Jeffcoat, Neufeld, Collaros, Kyle Walters, Alexander and Lawler If you've got a good/funny/interesting Q, I'm happy to ask it and give you the credit (unless it's really, really good and then I'll take credit myself) 😊

How about asking Walters for comment on Ballsy calling him a cap cheater? (Unless that's worse form for a broadcaster than actually making the accusation.)

By that logic - Rasheed Bailey wasn’t “our property” either. He was a FA. This guy is a moron. Stay in your little echo chamber province and say dumb **** that nobody sees. It is a mess when you venture out. The guy is incredibly unconnected for a radio guy. Nobody tells him anything - he is 100% guesses and lies.

A rambling, poorly executed joke that was doomed to die in front of a New York audience before it was ever uttered. That lame joke probably would have killed in Texas. I love Woody and I love reefer but this plays out like a cautionary tale about what smoking weed for breakfast every day does long term.

the game turned on the steal of 2, otherwise it'd been a back and forth game. Once Jones gave up the steal, she was chasing from that point on. The more experienced team won out, but I'd bet Jones's kids learned a lot from that one. They'll be back. It's only Year 1 of the current quadrennial together, so I expect big things from Jonezacharias....

I always think back to that social media meme post on freedom of discussion. " I was thinking of the “free exchange of ideas” last night. You know, it’s not like a market, it’s like a potluck. Everyone brings their own ideas and you sample others and some are familiar with a twist, some are interesting but not to your taste, some are bad, some are lifechanging. You can get into a discussion about recipes or technique, or what have you as people talk about the good. If someone brings mashed potatoes, you can debate the appropriateness for a potluck: is it too bland? Will it get cold on the table? Do potatoes make up too much of our diet? But if someone puts a steaming platter of dog **** on the table, we’re not going to debate it. And when we tell them to take it off the table, it’s not because we are afraid of eating their dog **** or that we think it’s going to revolutionize lunch but we don’t want to allow that to happen. We tell them to get it off the table because there is no debate to be had. It’ dog ****. It’s not an open question, it’s not a matter of palettes or picky eaters. That’s why we don’t engage with neo-nazis and white supremacists, and it’s why we don’t (or shouldn’t) let them come to the potluck."

all those oligarchs should get a union, those are some serious workplace safety concerns they got there. (this is a joke. the oligarch's union is called "capitalism.") war nerd spew: inflatable weapons go at least as far back as WWII. In the runup to d-day, the Allies had an entire army worth of inflatable tanks staged to attack Pas de Calais. Nazis bought it hook line and sinker; even after the Allies were ashore in Normandy Hitler refused to authorize a full counterattack because he was looking at photos of this massive undeployed floaty army and that convinced him that Normandy was a feint. so yeah, inflatable weapons are old-school antifascist friends.

I’d ask something similar to this:
  35. 1 point
Anything I would want to ask they aren’t going to answer in any real way - and everything more general can only be asked so many ways. For example : is Collaros going to tell everyone how hurt he was in the Cup? No. He won’t want it to sound like an excuse. Is Jeffcoat going to go into detail about why he thinks this new off season training will help him stay on the field? I doubt it. I mean, I guess I would like to hear from Neufield as to why experienced guys that have been playing together for years were have rough patches (including the Grey Cup). Some of them appeared to be lack of execution or understanding of what the defence was doing (for example : Hardrick had some complete controller disconnect moments where guys blew past him with no reaction). Declining physical ability and increasing injuries across the line are a bit of worry. The secondary was pretty solid by the end of the year and outside of asking Alexander how he is doing physically I’m not sure there is much to ask. Walters already talked pre/post FA so I’m set there and he won’t say much about the draft or his contract. I am just glad Lawler is back and he just had a press conference. As Cory said, @DTonOB will carry water on it like a pro.

I dunno, I'm happy to let a professional interviewer talk about whatever he thinks should be talked about with the usual suspects. As far as the players, I'm mildly curious about off-season training and what all that encompasses. But I would say it's Walters that I'm always most interested to hear from. I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that the only really glaring hole is at DT, and would be at least mildly interested in knowing how he feels about the DT position and how easy/difficult it is to find another Nevis or Stove... if they feel they have someone on the roster ready to step in, or if they'll be recruiting heavily for that position, and is it possible that there's decent CIS pick who might be able to do it? But, again, DT's a professional.... I'm sure the conversations will be just fine.

  49. It's funny how these US non-NFL leagues come and go. It seems that between high school ball, college ball and the NFL, Americans really don't want/need anything else. Yet at the same time, once this latest league folds, someone with more money than brains will come along and try it again. And at the same time, the usual suspects in Canada will declare that this (insert new league name here) is the end of the CFL. And round and round we go.
