McCarthy doesn't have the votes. Scalise doesn't have the votes. Biggs doesn't have the votes. There's only one man who can truly unite the Republican Party... Neurosurgeon, Nobel Prize winner, and WWII hero GEORGE SANTOS From Twitter

Guy can make all the throws. Rookie year he looked like a real qb. He didn't turn into a gimmick until lapo got it into his head to turn him into one. If he couldn't make the throws like you seem to think there is no way he would have kicked around the NFL as long as he has being a nobody.

  9. I don't know how much Kongbo played. He'd sure look good back in Bomber colours. Streveler can't throw. That's his big downfall. Has all the physical tools to be a great leader but he just can't make all the throws. Hence, he became a gimmicky qb. He can only find success with a limited playbook & plays designed to take advantage of his physical abilities. He'll never be a backup pushing the starter in the NFL or CFL. He got his NFL pension, though. Good for him.

Trump is different because he's openly obnoxious, unhindered and obscene, but I believe the U.S. has always operated in this way, from the very beginning, it has been a society of extreme wealth flanked by extreme poverty. Slavery flourished for 250 years unhindered, establishing vast inequities that became entrenched and generational on both ends of the spectrum. Once slavery was abolished a vast influx of poor white immigrants were recruited to pick up the slack to fuel the fortunes of the ruling class built off of their backs. A nation established and driven by greed with no end in sight, as 95% of Americans still believe they live in the greatest country in the world. God help 'em.

Watching the House speaker vote on C-span. Now starting a second vote as 15 Republicans either voted for Biggs or "other"on the first ballot. So, it appears that some obstructionists are preventing an obstructionist Republican House from obstructing. 😄

Mark Milley’s testimony reveals Trump plan to get back at retired military officers who criticized him The Jan. 6 insurrection testimony of General Mark Milley revealed that there were conversations among members of the Trump administration to court-martial retired military officers who criticized Trump’s handling of 2020 civil unrest in published op-eds, Insider reports. A 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and top military aide to Trump since 2019, Milley’s testimony was part of a trove of documents the committee released earlier this week. The testimony includes Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) asking if Milley considered approaching former Trump advisor, Michael Flynn, about the administration's desire to enforce military action against the retired officers. Milley said he was “concerned about the politicization of the military” after op-eds “very critical of then President Trump” by retired military officers were published. Milley said, "There was actually discussions with me: Bring him back on Active Duty, court-martial him, you know, make him walk the plank sort of thing, right? I advised them not to do that, because that would further politicize, in my personal view." Retired military officers the administration targeted for court-martialing were not named during testimony, but according to Insider, a few did publish op-eds criticizing the way Trump responded to nationwide protests following George Floyd’s murder in 2020. For Foreign Policy, retired Marine Corps General John Allen wrote, “Donald Trump expressed only the barest of condolences at the murder of George Floyd, but he also said nothing about the fundamental and underlying reasons for the unrest: systemic racism and inequality, a historic absence of respect, and a denial of justice.” Allen also highlighted that Trump "threatened to deploy the U.S. military against American citizens." https://www.alternet.org/mark-milley-testimony-military-trump/

Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, MTG, and Gym Jordan would all like a word. DeSantis is worrying to me in that while Trump spouted nonsense because it’s what the base wanted to hear and it inflated his ego to have those followers at his rallies, DeSantis actually believes his agenda. Trump wanted power for power’s sake, just to line his own pockets. DeSantis really wants the “dumb them down, anti-science, 1930’s school education” mindset to take hold. Trump exposed that there are still a ton of segregation-era thinkers out there, DeSantis seems to have galvanized them in Florida and is immensely popular and ruthlessly effective in that state in implementing his mandate. That groundswell of popularity I fear could easily spread throughout the entire Republican US.

Freedom of speech, freedom of choice comes with consequences good, bad or indifferent you knuckle dragging self-entitled mf’rs. Using the courts to push this drivel needs harsher consequences other than just being dismissed. It needs to come with harsh financial penalty for wasting the courts time.

  35. What a terrible take? So every CFL player post career should be entitled for a job as a O or D coordinator or HC? What makes Allen qualified to be given a coaching job? Because he was healthy and had a long career? Because he could run faster then most other QB's? He has free time since he hasn't played or coached in 15 years? What if Cody Fajardo decided to retire and wanted to coach in 2023, should he be given a job because he also was a QB and wants to coach? Why teams recycle coaches... because when you sign coaches who are not familiar with the game you end up with Count Chocula Bart Andrus. Or when you sign guys who haven't been around the league a long time then you end up with Mike Kelly. Usually QB's who transition to coaching are the qbs who were as players always known to spend a tonne of time in the film room and known to be able to dissect plays and create plays. Dinwiddie was always looked as a guy who would be a good coach because his ability to break down a play and his time he put into the game film.

Whatever happens, happens. I'm getting tired of panic setting in everytime a headline or story comes out like this. I get my flu as well as Covid booster shots, I carry hand sanitizer & try to stay away from crowds unless it's outdoors like a Bomber game. That's all I can do. I'm getting on with my life. My hope is Xi Ping catches Covid & croaks. Now, that would be good news.

“Sick disgusting human beings”: Right-wingers use NFL player’s collapse to push anti-vax conspiracy. MAGA conservatives tried to score political points after the Buffalo Bills' Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field Right-wing anti-vaxxers pushed a debunked conspiracy blaming COVID shots after NFL player Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field on Monday. Hamlin, a 24-year-old safety for the Buffalo Bills, suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field after a scary hit to his chest during the Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Players surrounded Hamlin as he received CPR for about nine minutes before being taken off the field in an ambulance. The game was postponed and Hamlin was taken to a local hospital. "Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in the Buffalo Bills' game versus the Cincinnati Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition," the Bills said in a statement early Tuesday. The scary moment led to an outpouring of support and prayers for the young second-year player and an online toy drive fundraiser launched by Hamlin quickly raised more than $3 million in donations in the hours after his collapse. But some right-wing anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists used the incident to stoke a widely debunked claim that the COVID vaccine is causing young, healthy athletes to suddenly collapse. "This is a tragic and all too familiar sight right now: Athletes dropping suddenly," tweeted Charlie Kirk, the head of the Trump-allied Turning Point USA. "There have been too many recent #diedsuddenly cases to deny it anymore," wrote failed Nevada GOP gubernatorial candidate Joey Gilbert.
