Sigh. Seeing Iheart posts in the CFL forums (thanks quoters) makes me want to punch a baby.....

This doesn't make any sense... when Couture is back, he's playing centre... having him back will help both guards.

  6. Good for him! A lot of former Bombers are sticking with their NFL clubs. This is great for recruiting. Not only being two x champions but for the guys with NFL aspirations, come to Winnipeg, ball out, win a lot of games and get your exposure and get an NFL contract. Win win!
  7. Makes me laugh in retrospect, all the Edmonton fans for years figuring Zylstra could eventually come back… now we know there was never a chance in hell after they done him dirty like that.

Well, if he does come back up here it wont be to Edmonton..... Former CFL receiver Brandon Zylstra says Edmonton ruined his first shot at the NFL in 2016 - 3DownNation

Couture potentially back on the OL+BOO returning which should gives us the ability to add an extra DL and maybe an extra DB too is exciting.

Gray has been just fine...Couture is a no brainer back at center as he prob top 2 centers in league..Kolonkowski held fort down, but that was about it...he gets owned and pushed back into the pocket more than he should....not sure all the Gray hate here

nope....not signed to any PR from what I know....hope he re-ups here for top starter dollars...and we roll

Of course its a factor. Its closer to 30k and its a lifetime pension. An extra 30k USD a year for life before your 30th birthday means a lot to the guys on the cusp of getting it.

So in the first 6 games, BO had 62 carries for 196 yards (3.2 ypc). In the last 5, its 68 for 408 (6 ypc). Young man is really coming into his own.

Cooper (6-3, 240, South Dakota, June 1, 1999, in Germantown, Maryland) joins the Blue Bombers after a five-year college career in which the first four years took place at Monmouth University and finishing his final season with the South Dakota Coyotes. For sure..how many people work years in a job they hate because they are only a few years out from their pension. Suggesting a pension doesn't matter is not accurate. It may not matter to the player with no realistic hope of getting one, but to a player like Strev it matters.

Not holding my breath for BA this week....tho this recent turn of events tells you he is back sooner than later now...and likely at Banjo Bowl. The additions tho of Couture and likely BOLO...possibly Thompson is actually very significant....We get some thump back in the secondary, veteran (all-star) presence back at center, which makes the game day depth that much better..BOLO for Harrison frees up a DI spot for one of Mack/Wilcotts...and seeing as we dressed an extra Global lineman, I can see him coming off allowing us to dress both.
  27. Couture has been added to the active roster.

I dunno... A lot of people around here (Al, I'm looking at you) said Oliveira was too slow and not ready to be a pro football player and the Bombers made a huge mistake and that we needed to find a new RB. Again, the Bombers were patient and let him figure it out... And it APPEARS like he's found his way. Too early to tell for sure what his career will be, but it's at least trending in the right direction.

That’s a flawed way of justifying the correctness of your opinion, demanding that we prove a negative to change your mind. It would be like me saying “Hey, in my opinion GCn20 likes to have sex with barnyard animals, and I have seen no indication that this is untrue (of course if he himself says that it is untrue, well, that’s just a self-serving statement, so that is not suitable as reasoning), so my opinion must be valid”. However, to offer you what you ask for, in my opinion a senator of 36 years service and Vice President for 8 who has never been proven to be tied to or suffered political fallout from a scandal, and who has only been mentioned in a scandal through his (non-politician) son by political opponents with a proven documented record of lying, would seem to belie your belief that he is corrupt. As for incompetent, I think his age, folksy storytelling, and his lifelong stutter may give optics to that narrative, but again his lifetime of public service and his achievements in getting bills passed recently given the partisan political climate are evidence of his competency. Again, the narrative that he is incompetent comes from his partisan opponents, not sure what proof you have that the majority of Americans feel that way (not having a high approval rating or the desire for someone else to run next time do not equate to incompetent). So you are entitled to your opinion, and you are not wrong for having an opinion, but you may well be wrong for having THAT opinion, as it does not seem to have any factual backing to make it a valid one.

"the key to understanding why germans supported hitler lies in the nazi's rejection of a rational factual world. in his statements an element of bitter refusal to submit to reality invariably emerged. the reality that germans faced after 1918 were all but unacceptable. germans retreated into conspiracy theories, that a stab in the back, not military defeat had ended the war. or that they were beset by conspiratorial cliques of communists, capitalists, jews ,freemasons. hitler could give voice to this flight from reality as could no other german politician of his time" Benjamin Hett

Yesterday on CBC radio they played the interview of the current mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek for her reaction to the Freeland=Grande Prairie incident. She related an incident when she attended an all-candidates debate when running for the mayor's office. Just prior to the debate, as she was waiting in the hallway, a man came up to her, put his face right into hers and said that he knew where she lived and that he would never allow her to become mayor. She was rattled but went into the debate and di well enough to win, but this man sat in the front row the whole time staring at her radiating anger and hatred at her. She has received threats since winning, and every morning before she goes out, she checks out front before opening the door, sets her alarm and makes sure every window is closed and locked before leaving. When the internet outage happened a couple of months ago, her alarm system did not work, so she stayed home. Apparently this sort of harassment is common for women in politics in Canada. Very sad, but it takes only small number of malicious idiots to create these sort of problems.
  44. This game always scares me. There were too many years where we were significantly better than the Riders but still somehow lost (Rocky Butler and Michael Bishop games come to mind) and I'm still suffering PTSD. That said, we seem to have flipped the script in their new toilet bowl stadium and we definitely are a much better team, so I remain cautiously optimistic.
