Off the board... Tre Ford for the Bombers. I know picking down the line has been successful but it would be fun to get another Canadian skill player. It's not going to happen.
  5. Of course....the only difference is 4downs vs 3downs. Otherwise the 2 leagues are identical

  9. Why are people bending over backwards to give hufnagel the benefit of the doubt here? His team's were the worst offender of having a designated receiver to run into a db so they could automatically challenge for PI. Guy has a history of only caring about keeping his offense on the field. He is clearly trying to backtrack after getting criticism for his voting choices but he doesn't get off the hook that easily.

I think we’ll go LB/DB for at least one of our first two picks and I don’t see Schakel getting by us. We’ll have a need in that spot and the OL crop isn’t great.

https://illegalcurve.com/manitoba-moose-will-face-the-milwaukee-admirals-in-the-central-division-semifinals/ Coincidentally these two teams met the most this season playing a total of 12 times. The season series went like this: Moose are 7-4-1-0 Admirals are 5-5-2-0 The dates of the game are as follows: Game 1: May 6th Game 2: May 7th Game 3: May 11th Game 4: May 13th* Game 5: May 15th* *Last two are if necessary This is the best opponent for the Moose to start the playoffs as they played the Admirals very well this season. Also with their parent club (Nashville) in the NHL playoffs some of their guys will be up as black aces which right now includes goalie Connor Ingram who is up top for an injured Juuse Saros.

Picard is the worst Trek show ever and it doesnt help that PS feels like he's 90 like his character. Ageism yes but it is what it is. They've pretty much spoiled who the Queen is from ep1 now. We will never see Jurati in that red dress again. It was the breast! If it wasnt bad enuf that great-great-great grandpa Soong looks like Soong from Picard S1 we also have Data's daughter Dahj/Soji looking exactly like great-great-great grandpa Soong's daughter. Still its better then S1 and they killed Picard in season 1!!!

  22. Not defending Huf, but the league itself. Media was bending over backwards trying to convince everyone the league voted on switching to 4 downs. Huf admitted here that it was an informal vote on whether to hold discussions or not - which is very different from deciding to make the switch. Huf may well want to switch to 4 downs - the league as a whole does not.

  30. Here’s a rule change that would actually create “offense” (I think they need a clear idea of what they are after, just making it easier to score points by field position isn’t all that exciting). Anyway, the rule change: lower the number of offensive players who have to be on the LOS to 5. Essentially all eligible receivers then have forward motion, increase downfield passing, and you remove a bunch of boring penalties for illegal formations.

"Justinflation" That is the definition of a dog whistle meant to do nothing more than rile up his misinformed and scared supporters, and is just as bad as damaging as Trudeau a communist. He proudly supported the Covidiot Clown Convoy, he's made ignorant remarks regarding the public health restrictions and mandates, and he consistently makes nonsensical statements about the liberals trying to destroy the Canada. Hyperbole, dog whistles, and falsehoods are all part of the alt-right playbook. Poilievre engages in those tactics daily - and he seems to enjoy doing so (probably because it feeds his narcissism). So, no. It is not a gross exaggeration to suggest he's alt-right. Imagine defending a Canadian politician who supports another country's political party by buying crappy merch. That's what's comical.

Fla. law made school book bans easier. So one man challenged the Bible. The man petitioning to ban the Bible says it is just as sexually explicit and violent as other books facing challenges By Hannah Natanson Today at 11:47 a.m. EDT It was Florida’s move to reject 54 math textbooks for “prohibited subjects” that made up Chaz Stevens’s mind: It was time to go after the Bible. Stevens, a 57-year-old tech wizard with a history of pulling wacky political stunts, had already been tracking the progress of a new state law that makes it easier for parents and county residents to challenge books in schools. The provision, which comes amid an unprecedented nationwide spike in challenges to books — particularly those by and about LGBTQ and Black people — was signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in late March. It takes effect July 1. But Stevens decided he could not wait a moment longer. As of Wednesday, he has filed near-identical petitions with 63 Florida school districts asking to ban the Bible. He has also filed a second petition with one district, Broward County Public Schools, requesting the removal of the Oxford English Dictionary. His three-page petition critiques the Bible for its depictions of bestiality and cannibalism, its “eye-popping passages of babies being smashed against the rocks” in Psalms 137 and its “strong pro-slavery position,” citing Ephesians 6:5-7. “As the Bible casually references ... such topics as murder, adultery, sexual immorality, and fornication — or as I like to think, Date Night Friday Night — do we really want to teach our youth about drunken orgies?” the petition asks. Schools nationwide are quietly removing books from their libraries Stevens’s subsequent complaint against the dictionary calls it “a weighty tome over 1,000 years old, containing more than 600,000 words; all very troubling if we’re trying to keep our youth from learning about race, gender, sex, and such.” Although Stevens’s petitions are tongue-in-cheek, legal experts said his actions highlight flaws and constitutional concerns surrounding Florida’s new law and others like it — and could lead to serious litigation down the line. Erica Goldberg, a University of Dayton Law School professor who studies First Amendment rights, said Stevens’s petitions could showcase that the new law may cause school boards to engage in “viewpoint discrimination,” or removing information because of dislike of the ideas it contains, which is impermissible per the Supreme Court. She noted that the Bible is replete with episodes of violence and sexual abuse, including the rape of Dinah in Genesis, which leads her brothers Levi and Simeon to kill every man in the city of Shechem to avenge her honor; the incestuous rape of King David’s daughter Tamar by her half brother Amnon; and the brutal dismemberment of a concubine in Judges. She said the Bible is at least as sexually explicit as some of the books parents are labeling inappropriate, raising the question: Why can the Bible stay in the library when those books have to go? “This stunt is going to illuminate," she added. “Many of our First Amendment rights get meted out by edge cases or by people looking to make statements.” (more) https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/04/28/bible-book-ban-florida/

In general I feel like I'm pretty far off the beat for how we draft. We like athletic, high upside guys and kind of mid level lotto ticket picks. But out side of that, and attributes we like I don't think I've been right about a single selection the team has made in the mafia era. With that said, I just can't see the logic behind all these prognosticators. This is a mediocre if not bad batch of OL prospects. I just can't imagine us reaching for a mid level OL prospect with a low ceiling, early on in this weak of a draft (for ol). Especially not with soo many highly athletic defensive players who can contribute on teams early on. I'm willing to bet that Eli will be back this year. I dont think dobson has been starting in the USFL, and if thats so I dont think he will be NFL bound this year.
