Now that you mention it, I think it’s about time Harris is banned from the league for his PED issue.

No, probably not as there are too many social conservatives & Reformers still living in the 90's in that party. They also support the occupatiosn going on right now which I believe will be their fatal mistake. I don't know where I'll park my vote. My 2 sons can't figure out what's happened to me as they are right wing Conservatives. I told them people change with age & experience. I'm a senior now. I'm not 35 when I was a piss full of vinegar Reformer. Today, I see cuts to healthcare. I see a moronic AB Premier who picvks fights with everyone & hasn't come through on one election promise. Dropping masking restrictions is just crazy. I can't stand Kenney. I thought O'Toole was a lying fool. (Hey, that rhymes). I'll never go back to the Conservative I was in 1993.

He won't be understanding at all. This is what's really at the heart of these protests. They are not about vaccines, that's just a smoke screen. These guys are afraid of their own priveleges being eroded, due to some of the groups you mentioned asserting themselves. Why else are the police playing nice?

This statement and similar statements like living rent free in someone's head is sometimes (not always) an overused and sometimes incorrect, frustrating, not helpful response to sane people of all shapes, sizes and colors just trying to be socially responsible human beings. Being socially responsible does not mean living in fear you self-entitled, lazy thinking knuckle draggers. When I see people smirking around proudly wearing sweatshirts that say JustSayNo #ChrisSky all I see is Just Say No to being a good human being for one another. It's like 'I can do whatever I want, my freedom, my rights, no one can tell me what to do, sane person challenges me, look I'm living rent free in their head ha ha'. And then have a bystander come by and say yup their living rent free in your head just isn't useful. It really isn't useful as much as you think it is by generally applying with no specifics Covey's what's in your control, influence and out of your control approach to this specific situation of social responsibility.

Now, the first large study to assess cardiovascular outcomes 1 year after SARS-CoV-2 infection has demonstrated that the virus’ impact is often lasting. In an analysis of more than 11 million U.S. veterans’ health records, researchers found the risk of 20 different heart and vessel maladies was substantially increased in veterans who had COVID-19 1 year earlier, compared with those who didn’t. The risk rose with severity of initial disease and extended to every outcome the team examined, including heart attacks, arrhythmias, strokes, cardiac arrest, and more. Even people who never went to the hospital had more cardiovascular disease than those who were never infected. The results are “stunning … worse than I expected, for sure,” says Eric Topol, a cardiologist at Scripps Research. “All of these are very serious disorders. … If anybody ever thought that COVID was like the flu this should be one of the most powerful data sets to point out it’s not.” He adds that the new study “may be the most impressive Long Covid paper we have seen to date.” For example, veterans who had had COVID-19 faced a 72% higher risk of heart failure after 12 months than those in a control group who didn’t test positive. https://www.science.org/content/article/covid-19-takes-serious-toll-heart-health-full-year-after-recovery

Really important and appreciated post. We're still in the thick of Omicron... The most transmissible variant so far. Hospitalizations are still around record highs, same with ICU and in AB the deaths are staggering. Seeing between 20-30/day at times over the past couple weeks. There is every reason to be extremely concerned right now and taking every precaution available.

Tbh the team publicly acknowledged the DUI and gave Lawler a team imposed 1 game suspension voluntarily. This was a lot more than most teams would do. If I recall correctly, as a team the Bombers hadn't locked up first place at the time either. Compare it to some of the other offenses by players, who wouldnt even admit wrongdoing, and would appeal the suspension (Simoni Lawrence 2 game suspension for a dangerous hit on Collaros comes to mind) As for Harris - same thing... They had him serve his suspension, even though he ended up missing the critical back to back with SSK at the time. Though, this was a bit less up to Bomber brass, as I dont think you cam appeal a suspension for banned substance in the CFL. Both situations sucked, but really the only thing more drastic they could have done would have been to cut ties with either player, which, at the time, probably would have been detrimental to the teams product on the field. I am not saying that it right, just that that is how the sports business is.

  36. 1 point
If the player is one of ours then a DUI or getting caught with PED's in your system is fine. Players from other teams with similar situations are pieces of crap with low moral character who would never be welcome on a MOS team and should be suspended right away. It is known. It is the way.

You used to be a staunch Conservative voter, correct? Would you return to the party if they had the right leader? Genuinely curious. I feel like any leader would have an incredibly difficult job uniting both elements of the party. They've fed their followers BS for years (see climate change) and they are dealing with the fall-out of a fairly divided group of voters. Like Noeller, it scares the hell out of me that they chose an interim leader who is an all-out convoy-supporting MAGA clown and they just might come to power somehow (Ontario has elected 2 Ford governments, we chose Pallister twice), but I see uniting the voters on the right as an increasingly difficult task.
